We stayed in a family interconnecting room for a family wedding in London in October. Myself, husband and 2 daughters were very comfortable in this room type. Plenty of space, sofa area, 2 separate bathrooms of decent size(no bath!) - only gripe was bed size & mattress - was a double & hubby and I are used to a superking...

Nice hotel for a very reasonable price. Very handy for central London. The only teeny thing to be aware of is it's a good 20 minute walk from the nearest underground/ train station, being relatively equidistant from 3. However, the rooms are good, the service is good it's on a great street for some lovely bars and restaurants. If you...

If you want somewhere that's dry, only has bottles of water in the mini bar and quite a small room that made us feel a little bit claustrophobic. Here is the perfect place for you. Not far from London Bridge station and Art establishments, so a great location if that is your type of thing. Only highlights were the walk...

The hotel is located in a nice neighbourhood with a good selection of restaurants nearby. Borough Market is also close and a good option for lunch. The London Bridge train and underground station is a 15-minute walk away. I had a good size room , the free use of a smart phone is a nice touch. I did miss a...

Good location, close to London bridge underground, many excellent restaurants in the area. The hotel itself is not bad, the rooms are somewhat dilapidated. The bathroom smelled like a sewer. The food was terrible. No safe in the room, WiFi unreliable and keep losing connection. Rooms were way too hot and at its lowest setting was unbearable.

This hotel is based in a trendy square, close to some of London's smaller art shops/galleries in Bermondsey, as well as some nice intimate restaurants. The staff were very friendly, making sure everything was to my satisfaction without being over-bearing. It's a boutique hotel with contemporary decor - very very clean rooms. I found the beds extremely comfortable, better than...

Just returned from a 'Secret Escapes' overnighter at the Bermondsey Square Hotel. Room was of a reasonable size with excellent view of The Shard. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The breakfast was very good. However, the best thing was the standard of service was was first class both at reception and breakfast. Overall very good value.

This hotel was not a novotel or holiday inn, it had a great feel to it and for London the room was considered big. The one thing that set it apart was the attention to detail from express check out, to the mobile smartphone in the room. This for people visiting London for the first time would be invaluable. You...

Stopped here as we love this hotels location. Finding it more expensive however. We arrived later and booked room service which is always good, had to book more expensive room this time and actually not great value for money although still a great room; it was for us just a stop over

Dear Andrew C I am sorry that you didn't enjoy your stay and appreciate your taking the time to review your visit. I have spoken with my colleague who dealt with you at the time. Our family rooms at 32m are larger than our standard rooms and alongside a standard double bed there is a sofa bed that generally suffices...

Staying in Southwark

Neighbourhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
