My wife and I stayed at the Akatoki to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary and honestly couldn’t recommend it highly enough.

The hotel couldn’t do enough to make our stay as special as possible. The room was excellent and the hotel itself was immaculate and well equipped.

A special mention to the concierge, I think his name was Adrian, he was super friendly and incredibly helpful - a real credit to the hotel.

We can’t wait for our next stay at the Akatoki!

Thanks again

Very well situated, in a calm street, this is a beautifully welcoming hotel . Everything was 10/10 , staff , bar, restaurant . Breakfast has a lot of possibilities including a Japanese one and non gluten food as well . We were upgraded for 40 pounds and the room I had was very lovely , the housekeeping staff gives a special touch to the room every day , twice a day.
I will definitely come back , so looking forward to it !

I stayed here with my Daughter for our yearly trip to Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park. The location is excellent for access to the park and only a short walk over to Oxford Street. Although we took the train there is a public multi storey car park near by.

The welcome we received was by far the best and most friendly I have ever experienced, considering I stay in hotels all the time for work this is quite an achievement. The staff were all smiling and clearly happy with their environment and this really came across, they knew the area well and were quick to advise us on the best way to visit all of the local attractions.

The room we had was slightly smaller than I would normally expect but the quality of everything in it was exemplary and my daughter loved the free soft drinks on offer in the mini-bar. They clearly have higher standards than most 5* hotels and it really shows.

The restaurant, wow.. we had the wagyū beef and it was cooked to perfection. The presentation was so good that my daughter thought it worthy of her instagram (but she's 15 so does this even with a starbucks cup) however, if I knew how to work an instagram I would have put it on my account as it was that good.

The real test for a hotel when travelling for leisure is how you felt afterwards. We both left feeling very welcomed, very relaxed and happy. In terms of value for money, I was happy with every pound spent here and we will certainly return again.

The reception team working on the 2nd January 2020 deserve particularly high praise and commendation for their efforts, it really set the trip off on the right note.

Recently refurbished by its new Japanese owners, the Prince Akatoki is a convenient oasis of calm. The rooms, especially the beds, are very comfortable and nicely decorated. Their only deficiency is a lack of drawers. We were greeted warmly upon our arrival and throughout our stay. Special thanks to Alexander and Fabian on the front desk. Breakfast is served in the hotel's restaurant, Tokii - continental is from the buffet and a good range of hot dishes is by order. The hotel is very well located, being only a short few blocks from Marble Arch (with easy access to the tube, buses and Oxford Street/Mayfair) but distant enough from the crowds to have little or no noise.
Some rooms, such as ours, are adjoining, which was great for our family of 5. It is an easy taxi transfer from Paddington Station if coming from Heathrow. We'd happily stay there again.

Dear 938frazerm, It is so pleasing to have read your kind review after your recent stay with us. Your meticulous and detailed feedback is very well received by us all. We love what we do. By offering such a beautiful product, coupled with a fantastic menu and other food and beverage offerings only makes our job so much more pleasurable. Thank you for pointing out the lack of drawer space, as it is an item we have identified and correcting through an enhancement to the product. The design is one of tranquility and decluttering space, however we understand the need for storage to cater for all guests. I am happy to hear Alexander and Fabian looked after you so well. They certainly are true hoteliers. We look forward to welcoming you back in the near future. All the best Ray Goertz General Manager

Just back from a one night weekend stay, and have to say extremely impressed. Welcomed with a glass of mulled wine, and the friendliest staff I’ve ever experienced, especially in London. Rooms are spacious and full of extras such as nespresso machines, Japanese teapots (and teas), yukata robes, gowns, and even a yoga mat if you’re that way inclined. Great breakfast, either Japanese or English & continental. We also had the Japanese afternoon tea which was excellent, and a nice change from the usual finger sandwiches, and very well priced for central London (you’re 5 mins from Marble Arch tube and selfridges). Wish they would sell their air freshener scent, as it was amazing! Will definitely be back and will be our new go to hotel in London.

Dear Drivinghomeforxmas, What a great username! Love it. Thank you so much for your great feedback after your recent stay with us. The team and I are so happy to be back after the various lockdowns and thrilled to be hosting our wonderful guests. I'm so happy you had a chance to try our one of a kind Afternoon Tea, which quite rightly said, is unique in its offering. Mixing Japanese and British flavours is an artform and something we're very proud of. Our signature scent is unique to the hotel, and we are actually looking at developing the scent to be available as retail to our guests. Please keep an eye on our website, as we will have a commerce site selling various items found in the hotel to our guests directly from our suppliers coming soon. Thank you once again and wish you a very Merry Christmas All the best Ray

We had a great stay at The Prince Akatoki. Rooms are thoughtfully and tastefully decorated with a subtle Japanese influence. Everything was very clean and well presented with a great turn down service in the evening, leaving some lovely chamomile tea to have before bed. Soft drinks in the mini bar were complimentary and restocked which is a great feature. A TV in the bath with a comfy bath pillow was a great unexpected bonus! Our bath at home seems woefully inadequate in comparison.

In true Japanese style, the service was impeccable and nothing was too much bother for the staff. They were quick to offer an umbrella or to book a taxi when the British weather hit. They were all very friendly and approachable, happy to offer advice or a casual conversation whilst they printed off the theatre tickets for us.

I can highly recommend this great hotel. You'll get a very good, quiet, comfortable night sleep and be offered a much more attentive, personalised service when you're awake. We'll be back in the future! Thanks again to all the staff for making the stay even more enjoyable.

We had a great experience when we stayed at The Prince Akitoki for the night! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The Japanese inspired room design is lovely and the bed was very comfy. The hotel was very quiet and despite its central location is in a less busy area with few cars. We appreciated all the little touches from free soft drinks, a turn down service to kimonos. The food was delicious (try the Japanese breakfast!) and the tuna hand rolls and maki melt-in-your mouth. The coacktails in the bar were very good too. My husband loved his whiskey cocktail with smoke. I wish you every success, you truly deserve it. We will be back!

Dear Thetraveladdict2011 Thank you for your kind review and for choosing to stay with us recently at The Prince Akatoki London. We are so happy to be open again and thrilled to serve our guests. We have spent months refining the product and offering and will forever be fine tuning how we look after our guests, to ensure we make the experience first class. I am happy to hear you enjoyed the sushi, it is my personal favourite. Our tuna comes directly from the seas of Japan and we have an array of different cuts and qualities of fish, all top notch. In our Malt Lounge you will definitely find a cocktail to your liking. We focus on the delicate flavours of Japan with all our whiskies coming from that region. That's not to say we don't have the best of the best Gin, Vodka and Sake available, these also come from Japan. All flavourful in their own right. I am so happy to hear your husband liked his signature cocktail. Thank you for the well wishes and we are looking forward to welcoming you back in the near future. All the best and Arigatou Gozaimasu Ray

We took two large suites here for one night to celebrate our son's 21st. Loved the welcome, the special treats for him and us, the attention to detail and the whole experience. The beds are super comfortable, showers and Japanese loos brilliant, the Japanese breakfast delicious and we loved the tasting of Japanese whisky in the cocktail bar. The staff particularly Kasia and Adriana made our stay so memorable.

My Wife and I stayed here for four nights for our 10th anniversary celebration. We were greeted by an army of staff helping us with our belongings, which very quickly dispersed leaving us with a concierge who was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. He showed us around our room very quickly and professionally before inviting us to relax and enjoy the hotel. We were amazed when 15 minutes later, the day manager contacted us in the room to ensure it was indeed silent and that we weren't being disturbed by any ambient sounds... We weren't... the rooms are indeed beautifully peaceful. The hotel, in entirety, is a nest of tranquillity which is so welcoming from a tourist destination like London. The Japanese theme of the hotel is obvious but not overbearing, the scent of the corridors and the colour is very calm. The room, a junior executive suite, was ample for us and the bathroom is wonderfully clean with a great big bath and monsoon shower. The turndown service was also outstanding, adding to the luxury of the experience with traditional robes and chamomile tea. We had a traditional Japanese breakfast which was filling and indeed as unique as I imagined it to be. For me personally the beauty of the hotel, and the location (which is brilliant) are something which anyone may expect from a reputed five star establishment, I simply wasn't prepared, however, for the eloquence, efficiency, professionalism and care of the exceptional team here. The team at the Prince Akatoki are by far it's most valuable asset. The desk staff are polite and enthusiastic in everything, the room staff are attentive to the last detail and the catering is unforgettable. We will absolutely be returning here as we never felt like customers, we certainly felt we were welcomed as guests.

Dear I1317SJsimond There are few times when I read a review that I actually feel your experience through your words. You've described it so eloquently with descriptive detail, for that we thank you for these wonderful words. But first, I need to say a special thank you for choosing to celebrate such a special occasion, not only a wedding anniversary, but your tenth wedding annviersary with us. I know expectations would be high regardless, but more so when you want to be treated extra special on your beutiful day. I am very pleased to hear that the team looked after you so well. They simply love what they do and bringing smiles to our guests faces, bring smiles to our team's faces. Thank you also for praising the Japanese cuisine, we have spent a number of months, with Japanese experts flown out from Tokyo, to assist us with the menu refinement. There is so much to offer at The Prince Akatoki London, we cannot wait to show it to you on your next trip. Looking forward to welcoming back soon. All the best and Arigatou Gozaimasu Ray

Dear Sam Thank you for your wonderful feedback. We are so happy to have reopened after the lockdown period. It has been very difficult for everyone, but happy to see our valued guests have the confidence bestowed on us once again. As part of our drive to minimise our carbon footprint we have decided to introduce canned still and sparkling water, as the environmental footprint of aluminium cans are much lower than glass, nevermind recyclable plastic. The recycling volume aluminium cans leave is much lower than glass, as aluminium cans can be crushed to a much smaller volumetric weight and area than other bottled water products, therefore requiring less transportation which impacts on the enviroment. Thank you once again for your great feedback and hope to see you again in the near future. All the best Ray Goertz General Manager
