Detailed Reviews
Our stay at the Brownsville was beyond exceptional!
Dita and the rest of the staff went above and beyond to make sure to accommodate us with every need without any pressure and with constant kindness. Due to family emergencies we had to make changes to our itinerary while we were traveling in the UK & EU and somehow Dita managed to find accommodations for us working within our schedule, as well as checking at the other property/pub/hotel they own across Clissold park.
Everyone from the bartenders & managers at the pub, the cleaning staff, the managers Dita and Ella were ALWAYS completely available to any request with a smile on their face.
We checked in a number of three times so we had the chance to experience 2 different rooms at The Brownwood.
The smaller rooms were clean, recently built and renovated and perfect with adequate pricing. The larger rooms were also modern and recently renovated and incredibly tasteful, like having a private loft, something like we’ve never experienced before at a “bed-and-breakfast“ type of establishment in a metropolis like London.
Despite the pub being just downstairs on the first and second floor and the rooms being on the third floor, you couldn’t hear a pin drop when you were in the room and we were able to sleep comfortably without hearing any noise whatsoever.
The location of the pub/hotel is simply fantastic with many buses just across the street to get you anywhere in London within 15-30 minutes as well as a 7 minute walk away from the London Underground. Additionally Clissold Park is a gem and is literally across the street from the location of The Brownswood. The neighborhood was great with plenty of stores and tra whether you’re looking for a chemist or a 24 hour deli or a variety of excellent cuisines. A short walk away from the lovely neighborhood of Highbury and Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium and lovely Stoke Newington which is literally just across the park.
The Brownswood’s backyard/beer garden was also exceptional, relaxing with a pleasant laid back crowd and excellent to take a break during the day for a drink or to have a night cap later in the evening, and their menus for all breakfast lunch and dinner were all fantastic as well, suitable to variety of pallets with many dishes to choose from and deliciously prepared.
We will absolutely return to The Brownswood the next time we are in London without any doubt! Thanks again for everyone in the staff and in particular to Dita and Ella for making us feel at home during our stay! Thank you!!!

Stayed here for the weekend in a Double Delux room. We arrived late in the evening as we had spent the day with the family. I had previously phoned ahead to let them know. We arrived at about 10.00pm and the pub and garden area was busy and had such a lovely atmosphere. Rosie spotted us and came straight over to welcome us, and once we’d completed all the routine check in bits, she showed us to our room. She was so helpful and genuinely happy to help us. We decided to have a drink in the garden first which was lovely and all the staff clearly enjoyed their jobs as they were all so positive and helpful. Our room was amazing and I thought we were the only ones staying, it was that quite. The bed, the bedding and importantly the pillows were great and we slept brilliantly on both nights. Breakfast is serviced in their breakfast room on the first floor. Like our bedroom, The breakfast room is beautifully decorated. The high ceiling and large windows made the room feel bright and airy and is a lovely peaceful room to have breakfast in. Dita, the guest services manager looked after us on both mornings. She’s a real gem and nothing seemed too much trouble. We loved our stay and will most definitely be back.

Dita, our guest, was nothing short than incredible. She was always available, and ready to listen to the customers. The breakfast is simply extraordinary. The pre-order saves time and food, and everything is absolutely delicious. The location is great, since the Tube is not far away and drops directly to the center of London. The room is perfect for a city-trip : the bed is soft and comfortable, the bathroom is clean and functionnal.

Our introduction to the hotel was the gorgeous Mike! So affable, welcoming and funny! After talking,we found out that he used to live in the same part of Sydney that we live in - the Sutherland Shire. Small world! Enjoyed a delicious dinner in the pub downstairs. Loved our room - Room 1. It was spacious, clean and gorgeously furnished. Liked the layout with the bathroom upstairs and the bedroom downstairs. The delicious breakfast was served in an equally lovely room by a very friendly lady from Kosovo (sorry,I forgot to ask your name). It was a perfect way to end our holiday!

This was a really lovely room and was expecting some noise from the pub however wasn't disturbed one bit. The room was really clean with nice fixtures and fittings. The only thing was that there was no cooked breakfast which they could have offered seeing as the pub is only downstairs.

Absolutely lovely place. I was unsure when I arrived as the pub was closed but a quick call and someone came to the door right away to let me in. Very friendly man explained how to get in and out with my key when the pub is shut and presented me with a breakfast menu to choose from for the morning. Room was immaculate and was a little on the warm side but easy to turn down the radiator and had a fan. Lovely bottles of water/tea and coffee. I booked breakfast for 8AM and was greeted by the nicest lady in a beautiful breakfast room. Coffee was delicious and so was my fresh toast and boiled eggs. The lady really was lovely and super helpful offering more coffee. I will absolutely be back! There isn't much around the location of the pub but a quick tube/bus got me to my day's location without issue :)

Excellent stay very helpful staff enabled us to get into our room early which was extremely helpful. Room clean but small, which was not a problem as we were out most of the tim. Bathroom clean and sufficient with ensuite shower. Food was very good pub food. The chicken burger was excellent just the char grilled fillet no batter of breadcrumbs ...perfect. Drinks choice very good. Overall excellent will be booking again!

The room itself was nice & the service was good, however, in the very 2 hot days we stayed in the hotel it was way too hot. We had hard time sleeping & even after the weather improved, it took us several hours to cool the room to a reasonable temperature.
As for the breakfast, it was very plain & I wouldn't recommend it.

Dita, was a fantastic host. We had to change the booking, which was no issue.
She was very welcoming nothing was too much trouble including letting us drop off bags early.
Our room was a deluxe double. It was very clean, the room was huge and had lots of amenities.
The breakfast was fantastic, there was a good selection.
We couldn't have wished for a better stay. I would highly recommend, we will be back!

A conformable stay in a very nice location. Was ideal for the trip we were on. Good to have a pub linked with the hotel, with no excess noise noticed whatsoever with clientele or being nearby the road.
Large, spacious twin room. Bathroom immaculate.
Thanks to the staff we met, all were lovely and chatty. Wee mention to Mike the Spartan, wishing your team better luck next time they come to Glasgow.... As long as its against that other team 😉
