Opened by renowned hotelier Cesar Ritz in 1906, The Ritz today still retains all the glamour and excitement synonymous with this world famous hotel. Perfectly located in a landmark position on Piccadilly in the heart of London's West End, the 136 room luxury hotel is ideally placed to suit both business and leisure visitors alike. Now totalling 111 bedrooms and 25 suites, the elegant rooms combine the original Louis XVI style interiors with modern day technology. Considered by many to be one of the most beautiful rooms in the world, The Michelin-starred Ritz Restaurant features a magnificent frescoed ceiling with west facing windows overlooking Green Park beyond. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, with a 'Live at The Ritz' Dinner Dance on Friday and Saturday evenings. The Ritz offers, most famously, daily Afternoon Tea service which has been popular since the hotel first opened. The stylishly updated Rivoli Bar was designed by Tessa Kennedy and features Art Deco styled interiors. Open daily with a bar menu. The Ritz London is a Grade II star listed building and in 2002 became the first hotel to receive the Royal Warrant from his Royal Highness The Prince of Wales for banqueting and catering services.

On the 31st January 2024 I celebrated my 60th birthday at the Ritz...and I can tell you the "Ritz experience" as they call it, was all I could ever have dreamed of. The Palm Court at the Ritz is a wonderful setting for any celebration because every guest is made to feel extra special. Once seated at your table the treats just keep coming....once one tray is finished it is promptly replaced with another - and your teacup is never, ever empty. Waiters appear from nowhere to fill/refill your cup or glass. You watch beguiled by the skill and theatrical flair shown as champagne glasses are filled at your table! Once the sandwiches and pastry plates on the cake stand have been eaten (and replenished) out come the scones (plain and fruit) which are delivered to your table hot so you can indulge yourself further with the Ritz's very own jam and clotted cream. Before very long the dessert trolley will stop by your table to offer perhaps a slice of quince or honey cake. Or if you cannot make up your mind - a slice of each! The taste of the Ritz's honey cake is exquisite. Incredibly moist and utterly delicious. Finally the music from the piano changes key and the Palm Court comes alive to the sound of Happy Birthday! I sit thinking how wonderful it is that someone else has the same birthday as me... until an exquisite cake is set in front of me and my husband smiles knowingly. My pre-ordered surprise birthday cake is the lightest sponge with a mille fueille filling with raspberries and strawberries. Covered in white icing there's a greeting piped in chocolate; a white candle has been placed to the side. Attention to detail is what the Ritz is all about. By the way, no words could ever do justice to the taste of this delightful masterpiece. The remaining part of my uneaten cake is boxed up for me to take back to my hotel, put into the fridge and finish off the next morning! And it was just as delicious in the morning. Afternoon tea at The Ritz certainly did not disappoint. From the moment we arrived until we left every moment was perfect. The staff make perfection effortless and all of them ensured that 31st January 2024 would be a birthday I will long remember. Thank you all so very much.

An outstanding establishment which goes over and above to welcome you and make your visit out of this world. Possibly one of the most beautiful interiors you will ever see and the Live at the Ritz dining experience is not to be missed. Make sure you sample some cocktails in the Rivoli Bar too!

The title of this review says it all. My husband and I stayed last Friday and also had the wonderful afternoon tea. I knew it was going to be special, but wow - this went far above what were already very high expectations. From the moment you get to the front door, you are treated like friends. A special mention to Fred who was so welcoming as soon as we arrived, and also to Beatrice who checked us in and took the time to show us around the hotel. Another special mention to Louis who took our bags to the room and had a great chat with my husband about West Ham and Man United. The hotel itself is breathtaking: the Ritz Restaurant dining area where we had breakfast, the Palm Court where we had afternoon tea and the Rivoli bar - all just gorgeous. We were kindly upgraded to a junior suite which was lovely. Bonus points for the GHD hairdryer in the room! The service however was second to none - I would happily go as far as saying we’ve never experienced service like it, and nothing was too much trouble. My husband has a dairy intolerance and it was no issue at all for the staff to create an amazing afternoon tea specially for him. We even had extra sandwiches delivered to the room! It really was service with a smile - I felt like a princess for the day. Thank you so much to the wonderful staff at The Ritz for your tirelessness in making your guests’ experiences so wonderful, and I do hope that you get this feedback personally. I really do hope to return one day!

We have just returned home after spending the most wonderful night away at this beautiful hotel. I was being treated for my 60th birthday and all of the staff went out of there way to make it a very special weekend. We had the Superior King room which was spacious and had luxurious old world charm. In the evening we started in the Rivoli bar with some excellent cocktails in a lovely art deco setting, before going on to the stunning restaurant to enjoy the best meal of my life. 7 courses (not including canapés and petit fours) of haute cuisine accompanied by a wine pairing which blew me away . Thank you to David the sommelier for your extremely informative descriptions of each wine , which had been selected expertly. Whilst we were eating we were treated to the swing band a live dancers which was amazing. After a good nights sleep we made our way back to the restaurant to have the wonderful breakfast which is freshly cooked to order with the very best ingredients. Thank you to all of the fabulous Ritz team for a memorable stay. Some may think this an expensive treat, but my god it was worth every penny in my opinion
