The name says it all. A London icon that has to be included in any stay in London. Stunning art deco with amazing suites and the best high tea in London. Great location with so much around the hotel within a short walk.

With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to
these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
I haven't experienced a stay during the Christmas season, yet. But, given the look of the entrance and the beautifully appointed lobby, I would be willing to bet that it is spectacular. The place is special.

The website details in its list of restaurants the dress code. For afternoon tea its Smart casual not sports wear. For the Savoy Grill its Smart casual, no shorts or sports wear, smart trainers and denim acceptable. Although we didnt see any men in shorts I would take from this that tailored shorts would be acceptable otherwise the website would say they are not. Clearly there is a style the hotel and restaurants are looking for so anything smart should be ok
