Travellers' Choice
The Savoy is the only luxury hotel on the River Thames. The ballet, opera, and theatre of vibrant Covent Garden are just steps away, with the City, world-renowned museums and galleries, and the designer shopping of Knightsbridge and Mayfair within easy reach. The Savoy has been woven into the fabric of London for almost 130 years, with exceptional service and memorable experiences at the heart of everything. Our team have been working hard to prepare for our guests and have implemented a range of measures to look after your well-being, but one thing remains a constant – the warmth of our Savoy welcome.

What a wonderful day to spend the afternoon with a pianist playing in the background , stunning view and immaculately presented Afternoon Tea. The whole day was made even more special when Michael the doorman allowed me to have my picture taken with him and then took my friend and I to a quiet area for a glass of Champagne ! he didn't have to but he made the effort to do this for us when he realised its a special occasion for me. He made the start of our day so special and is a real asset to the Savoy. I bought a voucher during black Friday sale so was well worth it - but the wine is pricey so be warned. Other than this the staff and day was perfect.

Hotel's Favourite
We had the privilege of spending 3 nights at The Savoy for our 10 year wedding anniversary. At Christmas it is truly magical; the decorations are spectacular. We had a fabulous meal at The Savoy Grill, a lovely evening with food and cocktails at The Beaufort Bar and a lovely festive Afternoon Tea in The Thames Foyer with Christmas carols. A special thanks to Rose in Thames Foyer, who it is always an absolute pleasure to see. Tony, Michael and Rob and the rest of the doorman team always greet us as if we're arriving back home. It certainly is a hotel that feels like home! We had an absolute blast; everything was perfect from start to finish as always. We can't wait to return in 2022!

It’s gorgeous, with sparkling mirrors, candles, superb flowers. But for an early evening afterwork drink the are eyebrow raising. £25 for a small glass of Cote de Provence is rather startling and the cocktail prices hit £30. So if it’s a luxurious setting you want and someone else is paying, this is the place.

Stayed at the Savoy for a few nights with my son . A few observations. Positives . Staff friendly , helpful , efficient. Room ,albeit a touch tired , had great views of the river and the hotel’s history and of course location , near Covent Garden remain positives. The Savoy Grill was still good. Great decor and the Arnold Bennett soufflé was excellent . No Steak Diane or Crepe Suzette anymore , so some of the panache and zing of old has gone but positive overall ( good Rum Baba ) although not sure what new and enhancing the ubiquitous Gordon Ramsey name brings to the grill offer. Negatives. ( Coming from someone who normally stays at the Corinthia) . In order .Cocktails very disappointing. The insipid tasteless whisky sour was the worst I have had for a while. New River restaurant by Gordon Ramsey was a crushing disappointment. Dorset crab unappetising and lacking in crab, curried monkfish dull and bland(for a curry) with no rice option !? Given seafood is the angle the menu seems so unimaginative and formulaic . No pizzazz ,no creativity. Knickerbocker glory to be fair was good , but not enough to redeem the experience.(Wine list was also dull, no interesting whites.)If the Savoy wants to stay in the top division of London hotels this new restaurant will have to significantly up its game. It also has the unwelcome side effect of weakening the breakfast experience at the hotel , with the river view partially closed off and the feeling now of eating breakfast beside an old bandstand in the foyer with no view. Finally on breakfast the service was slow and the Bircher muesli tasted as if it had been made the day before.Sausages and eggs ok though. Sorry to be harsh but overall the Savoy needs to get its act together if it wants to stay in the London premier league . At time of writing Everton seems to be the obvious football comparison .Does Fairmont know how to run this hotel ?
