Welcoming guests for 47 years The Capital Hotel in Knightsbridge boasts classic British style and service, an envious location and a great history as one of London's first boutique hotels. An award winning grand hotel in miniature, The Capital Hotel has all the advantages of a large establishment, yet exudes warmth, understated exclusivity and personal attention to detail. This discreet London Hotel and adjacent luxury Knightsbridge apartments sit proudly on Basil Street, close to Harrods and just a few minutes from Knightsbridge Tube Station as well as Harvey Nichols, the Victoria & Albert Museum, Hyde Park and the designer shops of Sloane Street. Next door sits the Levin Hotel, a modern 12 bedroom townhouse. The group also manages The London Bakery that delivers to high end restaurants, hotels and clubs across London, as well as at The Capital.

Knightsbridge
When millions of tourists want to shop 'til they drop, they do it along Brompton Road and its boutique-lined tributaries, including the world-renowned Harrods. And when millionaires want to flaunt what they've already got, many of them find Knightsbridge and Belgravia the perfect place to do so, often behind stately mansion walls or down quiet private mews. Delve beyond the ultra-luxe exterior and you'll find some of this city's cosiest pubs, quiet gardens, and all sorts of indie retailers and enterprises worth a short exercise in spontaneous window shopping. For those looking to take a break from shopping, Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, and some of the city's most popular museums are nearby.

We used this as a base for our overnight break to Knightsbridge - to Harrods, where else, which is literally just around the corner. The hotel is quiet, very well appointed, has very friendly efficient and professional staff throughout, and is extremely comfortable and

We have been visiting The Capital for over 15 years as it was always such a warm and friendly place - a real home from home. As well as stay there we would often just pop in for drinks in the bar or have lunch there. However, since the Levin family sold the property it has

Dear 4REGKent, Thank you for sharing your thoughts on your most recent stay at The Capital Hotel. The team and I would like to firstly thank you for your kind words on the friendly service that you have experienced over the many years of visiting the Capital. It is saddening to hear that the bar is not to your taste or expectation. I hasten to add that we have made some changes to the décor since November based on valuable feedback from our guests. Your detailed feedback on the overall experience is really appreciated and I extend my sincerest apologies that the stay was below your expectations and the standards we aim to reach for our guests We really appreciate comments, especially from our regular guests and I would love to discuss your experience further. Should you wish, please contact me directly on manager1@capitalhotel.co.uk. I truly hope we will see you with us again. Kind regards, Louis General Manager

How is the tv situation at the hotel ? decent channels ? sky tv (movies,etc..) ?
They have all the standard London stations (BBC, etc), some US channels (CNN, MSNBC, Fox News), and some foreign channels, but I wasn't really in the room that often to look at TV.

I am presuming you mean Euston Station. Difficult to be precise because one can never predict what the traffic will be like. It is very very easy to pick up a taxi and in normal traffic conditions, 40 minutes should be more than adequate but difficult to predict traffic.
