Because I only stayed one night I feel it would be unfair to give a poor review, however I was not really too impressed, I thought the downstairs area's were a little, well maybe I should just say well used, the room I was given was fine, an upgrade at check in, which was nice, my concern was that it...

the kemps design and run beautiful hotels. i've stayed at the big 5 star hotels in london over the past year and i prefer this one. the hotel is immaculate, thoroughly remodeled (new baths, windows, digital thermostats) none of the "boutique" inconveniences of older buildings. public spaces and rooms are light filled with either views of magnificent sumner place or...

Went back again for a 4 day stay in January. The location of this hotel is excellent, right around the corner from the South Kensington tube station. The atmosphere is still wonderful and cozy and warm. The staff incredibly friendly and helpful. Flew in early in the am from HK and really wanted a shower before heading out for a...

This was an absolutely wonderful boutique hotel in a beautiful and elegant location. It's conveniently located a mere few blocks from the Tube yet in an incredibly quiet location, and the decor and service couldn't be beat. The breakfasts in particular were amazing, especially when taken outside in the courtyard. The staff was prompt, knowledgeable, and attentive, and this ended...

We stayed here for 1 night. We live in London and needed a central London get-away. This hotel was perfect - rigorously tested room-service and the DVD library - no faults to report. Our deluxe room on the first floor (with long balcony) was wonderfully designed - Kit Kemp is superb - the bed large and very comfortable. Great location...

Number Sixteen is in a quiet road in South Kensington, brilliantly located. I feel like I am walking into somebody's house here, except for the fact that there is a reception desk. Rooms are quite small as you might expect round here but really well appointed. There is an honesty bar and lovely lounge areas. It's ideal for a one...

My friend and I stayed here 4 nights over a 10 day period because we travelling in and out of London. The accommodation was lovely and fresh and spacious for London. The mostly young staff from outside the UK were very helpful and upbeat. We asked for a room with 2 beds which we were told would be no problem....

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
