My daughter & I were both in London for both business purposes and for pleasure with our friends...

Chose this hotel after researching the internet because I wanted a couple of nights in a part of London I know using it as a base to visit our son, go to a cinema and then attend a concert at St Martin in the Fields. Took a single room [305] which although very compact [particularly the ensuite] was very clean...

Staying at this hotel was part of a 60th birthday trip for our mother that we organized with my sister. We couldn't have chosen a better hotel. Not only is the location excellent and the hotel style very much to our taste, but we also felt like very special people during that weekend. Service exceeded our attention, all staff members...

We stayed overnight at No 16 and what a gem of a hotel. Just at the back of South Kensington it is really quiet. Greeted by friendly staff and a mince pie we were shown to our Deluxe room which was clean and comfortable. It has the feeling of a house. There is an 'honesty bar' and there is an...

We stayed at Number Sixteen in October 2011 and loved it. The location was perfect with a number of nice little restaurants around the corner and the tube station a couple of blocks away. Our room was really nice overlooking the beautiful garden. The breakfast room was lovely and the staff very friendly. It was very nice to relax in...

My husband and I stayed here on the first night of our honeymoon, before going abroad. It was a complete surprise for me - to be honest, I though I would be staying at an airport hotel. How wrong I was! It was the first time I had stayed at one of the Firmdale Hotels (I've wanted to for some...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
