Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.

Stayed in room 714, double room (supposed to be an upgrade, mainly due to the floor? Because as you can see, otherwise, it's quite a small one). Very nice staff, very accommodating. I would just recommend to have the "bar" offer craft beers to have alternative to the (boring)

Stayed here for one night with my mum. We felt the location of this hotel was perfect, within walking distance of kings cross station and many major tourist areas, such as the British museum and Oxford street. This hotel was immaculate with the staff being very attentive. The

This hotel is in a great location... and that's about as good as it gets. We booked a king size room for two nights. The photos on the website had me expecting much more than we got. There was nothing wrong with the room but it felt dreary and smelled of the fish and chips that

Dear chunkymonkey5, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. Naturally, I am disappointed to read your feedback and would like to extend my personal apologies for the shortcomings you were faced with during your time here at Mercure London Bloomsbury. As you know from previous stays with us delivering outstanding service is an imperative part of our brand and I can assure you that what you have experienced is far below the usual standards that we strive to provide. It is disappointing to learn that the service during breakfast did not meet your expectations. We understand the importance of this service to our guests and will therefore be using your feedback to ensure we are meeting those standards going forward. The issues you have raised will certainly be escalated internally within the hotel to ensure we are continually learning on how we can improve the service from our hotel. Thank you again for your feedback and we to have to have the opportunity of better serving you for a future reservation. Kind regards, Christopher Knights Front Office Supervisor

The actual Mercure standard room looks a far cry from the picture shown on the website. It’s small, with creaky floors and beds that are way too soft. It’s actually a very small hotel with no proper loading bay for taxis to stop and unload your luggages as the small entrance

Dear fionac800, Thank you for your review which we would have obviously prefer more positive. We are sorry you left disappointed with your stay. Our rooms will be refresh this year and the floors or mattresses will be change. Our rooms can be different from the pictures because they are all of different sizes or shapes due to the building itself. There is no loading bay in front of the hotel but you can easily stop on the back of the hotel, next to the square. On the positive side we are glad our location was convenient for you. The Mercure London Bloomsbury Team.

I only booked this hotel as we needed a place to crash after a night out, and wanted to use up my Accor points, but I was pleasantly surprised. The location is really convenient for most things...short walk to British Museum, Soho etc; and very close to Russell Square for the

Dear prippit, What a pleasure to read your feedback ! It is always nice to get above our guests' expectations and even nicer in a last minute situation. We will definitely share your comments with the rest of the team. Our rooms on the top floor are indeed a bit smaller than the other floors. We all hope you will stay again in the future to enjoy the rest of our facilities. The Mercure London Bloomsbury Team.
