Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.

I often stay here for work-related reasons. It’s my favourite hotel. Comfortable, clean, quiet. Just don’t eat here. I made the mistake of eating here tonight. I’ve made that mistake before so I knew i wouldn’t enjoy it. The bar has a choice of mouldy steak, mouldy burger or

Fifth time here, and just as welcoming as each time before. Great location, independent hotel no chain, and terrific value on their weekend rates. I want to keep it as a secret. Keep it as exclusive as it is, especially for the price. Will certainly be back.

been twice recently, just for business meetings and a coffee. It's a nice looking hotel and a good place to hide away from the London Bridge area chaos for a meeting and a coffee. Friendly service and comfortable area to sit.

No direct shuttle. Quickest is the Heathrow Express to Paddington then a cab. Allow an hour at least in good traffic from Heathrow via Paddington.

Don't even think about car hire in London ,parking if you can find any is horrendously expensive. The tube (underground ) is by far and away your best option . If you have a contact less bank card you can just use that instead of buying an oyster card it actually works out cheaper using a contact less card as well . Go on the transport for London site for more details.

Hi What type of fruit. And is there biscuits in the room please
No biscuits in the room. There is a restaurant and bar downstairs and room service. For biscuits, scones and the like I walk up the street two doors to a lovely place called Pure. Fresh fruit and great coffee are available there as well.
