The hotel is situated quite nicely, very near to queens way underground and Kensington gardens. The staff are very helpful and polite. The room we stay in was a little small for a twin but warm and clean. Breakfast is a complete joke. Plates are no bigger than a saucer, buffet table always looked like leftovers and the eggs could. For the price I could not recommend this hotel to anyone .…
We booked as part of a theatre and night stay deal. The hotel is conveniently located. The room had all the normal facilities and was comfortable. The negative point was the room was very hot, we did have a desk fan which was a bit noisy. For the WiFi the password was apparently available at the reception, which I did not get. The breakfast was adequate and well organised. We would use the hotel again.…
It was the end of our holiday and we met family for a last dinner and drinks. Our previous night was at Thornbury Castle, so this is like chalk and cheese. However I think you review knowing what you choose to stay, the facility and services based on 3 star hotel. The room is small, the hotel is old, and there is seperate bathroom with good shower, amenities etc. there is a tv in the room and most important air conditioning and a fan. Breakfast is a selection of fried, boiled eggs, pastries, cheese, ham, cereal, breads etc great I thought. We needed a iron and board and it was delivered very quickly. The location is good for some pubs and restaurants and we toured Kensington palace before heading to airport in the morning. It’s good value for money in London for location if that’s the most important reason for choosing the hotel.…
It is a decent hotel in a lovely neighborhood within close proximity to shops, Hyde Park, Underground stations and bus stops. It was really quiet besides the noises coming from the stairway when people were passing. Loved the complimentary breakfast as well. The room we stayed in was on the small side (room no 5), but considering it is an old building in central London, one shouldn't expect a large room anyways. The room was cleaned daily and had everything we needed. More effort should be put into maintenance and repairs, as eg the towel hook on the bathroom door war broken, as well as the shower holder so we had to hold the shower head while showering. Also the door knob on both the bathroom and the main door was kind of wobbly, so will probably break in the near future. The staff were extremely nice and friendly, especially the breakfast ladies who were putting so much effort into running everything smoothly as well as often waving and smiling at our one-year-old, making it altogether a really lovely stay.…
These three stars is generous. We booked through a third party and chose this one for its price ~$200, free breakfast and location. However once we arrived it was clear that we were given the worst room in the hotel. I will say that each room came with a tablet device to carry which would be helpful if you didn’t want to carry your own phone around town but we found our phones to be just fine. Maybe ten years ago it was a good idea. For or room, we were placed in the basement next to the staffs entrance with a view of the downstairs area. If I were them I’d recommend not even offering rooms so small. The room was so tiny that we requested a new room but had to wait until the following day. We’re happy they moved us even though it was just for one night. Breakfast was quite limited as well with no variety at all, less than basic breakfast which was disappointing. We wouldn’t stay there again unfortunately. Also attach are images of the scary hairdryer that came with the room. It looks as if it melted and can burst into flames at any moment. The hairdryer in our second room was much better. …
