Great location for a visit to London. You are within walking distance from all the major attractions and close to the underground. The staff very helpful and friendly. The signature cocktail from the bar is a must.

A brilliant old fashioned (in a good way) hotel with wonderful attention to detail! Dukes is tucked away in a quiet alley, a few minutes walk from St James’ Palace and (if you find the secret short cut) it’s also only a few minutes walk from Green Park Station. All the staff were friendly and helpful. I had a lovely, spacious room with a balcony and there were nice surprise touches like a bottle of prosecco and cakes that were left in my room. The martini afternoon tea was exceptional (I’ve tried many) as was their Vespa Martini in Duke’s Bar - although at over £28 per glass this was far too expensive. My meal in the restaurant was satisfactory. Overall, a lovely, reasonably priced five star hotel in a great location!

The staff were fabulous at every stage. Great focus on the guests and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel itself is super clean and ‘old school’ stylish. The room was really comfortable and with the hotel being just far enough from a main road it was surprisingly quiet. Zero complaints!

The service was excellent. They accommodated both our vegan and vegetarian palates. The sandwiches and desserts were delicious, the tea was tasty and plentiful. The setting in the drawing room was gorgeous. I highly recommend sitting in the sun room portion, where we had beautiful natural light beaming in and a gentle breeze from the patio. I would recommend Dukes for a lovely, relaxed afternoon tea.

Amazing stay at Dukes to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. The staff made her stay extra special and I cannot praise them enough. Nothing was too much trouble and the reception team were outstanding. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The hotel is situated in the heart of London and ideal for sightseeing. If you’re looking for a hotel with character and understated elegance, Dukes is ideal. Looking forward to returning one day.

Dukes is a nice old hotel in an exclusive area of London. It's not cheap to stay here and if I'm honest the room disappointed a little. The bathroom was tiny withan in-bath shower. As suggested by the reception staff, we booked a table in the much hyped Dukes bar but when we arrived at the alloted time there was no record of our booking from the reception staff. As other people were queuing we were turned away. The super helpful and apologetic (Italian) guy in the bar suggested we come back later but as this was too late for us we declined. Apparently this happens a lot. All in all it was a nice stay with pleasant and attentive staff if spoiled a little by not being able to visit the famous Dukes bar.

Stayed here for a couple of nights and beyond the spacious rooms, fantastic location tucked away in St James’ what I really wanted to focus on in this review is the staff. Can’t commend the check in staff enough. The authentic and costumer focused service we received was incredible. Every request was met with a smile and a real desire to please the guest. Only niggle was the noise that came from the heavy metal concertina door from the vintage elevator that kept crashing shut (as hard to manoeuvre quietly when handling luggage). Our room was very close to it so the noise was never far. All in all, I’d not hesitate to recommend this brilliant hotel to anyone who’s looking for a hidden gem in the heart of St James’. Keep it up

We booked an exec king room. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast room is lovely and the food very good. The hotel is in a great location with Green Park tube about 5 mins walk away. Located in a quiet cul-de-sac and easy to find, with Piccadilly just around the corner. We used the hotel as a sightseeing base and it worked very well. We did not eat any meals other than breakfast so we cannot comment on that side. We did visit the bar for the signature Vesper Martini - lethal in alcoholic content so not for the faint hearted and at £22.50 per glass a definite treat! The bedroom was comfortable offering excellent storage and the bathroom was a good size. Decor in the room was slightly tired ( including missing button cover on window seating) and at £500 per night, room only we were expecting more but the atmosphere and staff made up for it. An understated and subtle homely feel, not overly opulent and certainly not pretentious. Would definitely stay here again.…
