Very nice hotel, situated well in Kensington. Close to a tube station and several museums and parks. Personnel were perfectly amiable . Lovely lobby and bar and very clean. It's just that the mattress in room 115 was noticeably broken down . I slept all right but it needs to be replaced.

Sorry to say this hotel was poor in pretty much every respect, except the very helpful doorman who flagged taxis for us! Room was tired and access to it was arduous; sofa bed mattress was appalling, insufficient glasses/water/toiletries were provided and heating very poor. Front desk was slow and inefficient and despite trying to be helpful, the lack of fluent...

We booked a family room, two adults and one 3 year old and one 6 months old child. We got a room that you first had to take the lift (no problem) but then you had to carry the pram down a long stair. Then do the same when to leave so you had to be two persons to get...

The rooms at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Vanderbilt are classic, quiet and very comfortable. Beds and pillows are well-maintained and the linens are of a good quality and the room is of a good-size. Location in Gloucester is very accessible and convenient; food and amenities are all along Gloucester Road and access to museums and the tube is also very...

Our first family holiday to London and we had four nights at the Radisson. Picked this hotel because of its proximity to the museums (five mins walk gets you to the Natural History, Science or V&A). The family room was fine, comfortable but really small and the bathroom was especially teensy. Breakfast seemed very expensive at £20 per person. Most...

Very comfortable, nicely decorated and supplied room, very good and extensive breakfast buffet. Very good location for visiting museums, parks and restaurants. Easy access to the Tube. Queen bed room with fold-out sofa bed worked well for three adults.

Dear HoosierHikers, Thank you for your lovely feedback about the recent stay at the Vanderbilt Hotel. I am very happy to hear that you had such an excellent stay. The location is more then convenient, only 2 minutes walking distance to the nearest tube station, the museums are just around the corner and 15 minute to the famous Harrods. Looking...

Stayed here with the wife on a Friday night while we did a couple of days sightseeing in London. Excellent location close to Gloucester Rd tube stop with plenty of choice of places to eat if the Hotel's Scoff & Banter restaurant doesn't suit. Room was great, staff were uber polite and helpful, and breakfast was fantastic with plenty of...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
