Cannizaro House is located within 34 acres of Cannizaro Park and adjacent to Wimbledon Common. Aside from nearby boutique shopping and extensive parkland, the hotel sits close to the All England Club, the home of tennis, which for a fortnight each year hosts the Wimbledon Tennis Championships, attracting interest and personalities from around the world. A tranquil setting, yet well connected, you’re never far from something to do. Our exquisite Orangerie overlooks the gardens and is ideal for al fresco dining. Our Bistro offers an enticing menu and the cosy bar holds a relaxed and warm atmosphere. Hotel du Vin Wimbledon really is one of a kind, with so much on offer. And the verdict? Love all.

The hotel is set within the beautiful Cannizaro park, so enjoys really picturesque surroundings. It was lovely to be able to see lots of people enjoying the park. There is secure parking at the front of the hotel for those travelling by car, as stated on their website, there is a daily charge for this. The staff were all extremely pleasant and very welcoming, especially the restaurant team (both for dinner and breakfast). The entrance hall and lounge area are really very attractive with most of the main original features found in this part of the building. The orangery restaurant is a very well designed modern edition, which provides superb views of the park via the floor to ceiling glass windows. Whatever the season, this would be a lovely place to sit and dine, or as we did on arrival enjoy a coffee. The standard of food in the restaurant is really very high (not the usual bland hotel offering). It is Italian cuisine, which was all beautifully cooked. Breakfast was also of the same high quality. It was particularly nice to be able to see the chefs cooking our meals from the open kitchen. We stayed in the classic double rooms, with one set up as a twin. They were spacious and had all the necessary facilities, however, they are beginning to look a little tired in places. Touching up paintwork and some areas in the bathroom would make a difference. That aside, the rooms were spotless as was the entire building and the beds were very comfortable, so we enjoyed a good nights sleep. We had booked the dinner, bed and breakfast package, which I feel represented good value for money, considering the quality of the food and the comfortable surroundings (we had booked several months in advance, so the price may well have increased had we booked earlier). I would certainly recommend the hotel and will return if revisiting the area. On a side note, I think this would be a fantastic venue for any event such as a wedding or celebration, given the picturesque location. It looked like they had a number of function rooms, which were in use although we weren't disturbed by any noise from them.

We have stayed at Cannizzaro House several times as the location is very convenient for us and parking is available. The rooms are a good size, clean and well equipped. Decor seems sometimes a bit shabby but this might be their “shabby-chic”look?

Staff very friendly.

Breakfast is good and served in the orangery which also doubles as the restaurant. The restaurant serves Italian food, which can be partially seen being prepared including their pizza oven. Unfortunately - although the quality of the food was fine - it didn’t strike us as very authentic.

The park facing rooms are premium priced, however the rooms facing the car park and common have an equally interesting view (and we didn’t experience any noise from the car park)

This hotel offers a level of comfort that I only experienced in, for example, Singapore before! That amount of value for money left me in (positive) shock, that was the first time for London that it played out this way. The interior is as beautiful as on the images, and the staff was beyond friendly and service-minded. (Special thanks to Anna and Christopher at the reception with all your help with my many questions!). I got my room a little bit earlier- but already in the waiting time, the manager made sure I got a coffee, and he took the time to greet me and chat. Where does that even happen anymore? Further, the beds are extremely comfy, and I slept like on a cloud. I spent a significant amount of time in the room, as I had to work between meetings in the city, so I really had the opportunity to try it out. The WiFi was fast and steady, and I could brew coffee in the room. I had this beautiful, large tree in front of my window that blocked a little bit of light- no problem, I could sit in the beautiful, sunbathed conservatory for a couple of hours and work there instead. Room service was also available and the food came quickly and warm. There are a gazillion more positive things to says about this hotel; there is just not enough space! The location is a little bit remote but on the other hand, you have the most soothing view for breakfast and a little walk has never hurt anyone. At least not me after having eggs benedict for breakfast!

Whilst I expected Covid would have an impact on our stay, I was very surprised at the lack of essential stuff we expect from a suite.

The suite at a price of £300+ per night was nice, as expected. Excellent food at breakfast and dinner, set in a modern orangery. Great big comfy bed and good quality pillows. But to have to request toilet roll, bottled water and a small bar of soap was poor.

I have never stayed anywhere that never left a spare loo roll, when the one in use is near to finished on both days after room serviced. A small bar of soap and bottled water should also be essentials anywhere decent!!

I understand Covid has impacted on hotels and their procedures, but simple essential stuff should not be absent from a decent room in a fairly expensive hotel.

This pandemic has become an excuse for places like this to cut back and scrape a few pounds back from customers. Even though they’ve raised prices for accommodation that’s stripped bare!!

Enjoyable Christmas package deal for 3 nights. The Deluxe Double room was very comfortable, but would have benefitted from some brighter lighting. The decor is a bit sombre but the photos give a fair impression. We have stayed several times before, and enjoyed coming back. The service was willing and friendly. The breakfasts were always good, with a mixture of buffet and cooked items to order - and the genial Subhendu in charge of the service on several of the days. Christmas Eve dinner was a little disappointing with some menu items being unavailable, and service a little too leisurely (not helped either by a noisy table nearby). Christmas Day Lunch was pre-booked, the only drawback being that they seemed to have tried to squeeze in two sittings without being able to adhere to any sort of timetable. The result was that we had to wait almost 2 hours before being seated! Not surprisingly, guests were becoming agitated and it should have been handled better. All was well after that, thankfully - and although we had to order our choices in advance of our stay, everything was properly organised. Dinner on Boxing Day was even better, and so our overall experience in the restaurant improved as our stay went on. Car parking was convenient and plentiful, as it should be for £12 per night. Overall positive, and we would return.

We have visited Cannizaro Hotel quite a few times now for short breaks and we have always been very well looked after. We do have one particular room that we like and every effort is made to make this available if possible. We book a time for the restaurant for dinner and a parking when we make our overall reservation. The staff at the reception are always polite and extremely helpful - we would like to make a particular mention of Anna, together with Sienda, at reception who have looked after us very well. We take a park side view room which gives a stunning view over the beautiful Cannizaro Park and we have always found everything to be clean and well appointed. The beds are particularly comfortable - I have enquired after the mattresses and Anna tells me they are Sealy mattresses - highly recommended for a good night's sleep. The breakfast is excellent. Although we have enjoyed some good meals in the Hotel's Italian restaurant, if we could choose we would opt for French cuisine which we believe is the case for the other Hotel du Vin hotels around the country. Overall, we thoroughly enjoy our short breaks at this hotel from every point of view and hope to be able to enjoy many more!

We were delighted to be offered an up graded De Luxe room on arrival on my wife's birthday - mentioned on our on line booking . The rooms are all named after vineyards which is nice, and our bathroom window overlooked the formal sunken garden of Cannizaro Park, which is worth visiting in its own right. The hotel is comfortable, the staff obliging and the Italian themed restaurant stylish in a modern orangery extension. The menu is reasonably priced and dishes nicely presented.
The hotel is well situated for access to Wimbledon Station with good options for fast trains to Central London.: a short walk across the common to the 93 bus gives easy access to the town and transport hub.
Car Parking is charged at £12 per 24hours, and whilst the room rate is not cheap, the DBB advanced booking rate represents reasonable value for money.

Our room was £150 + which did not include a breakfast and was a very basic room. There was no view whatsoever, one window was glazed and the other window showed a view of a wall. Very claustrophobic. No kettle and no tea / coffee making facilities. There was a lot of dust on the headboard and dust around the corners of the room. There was also a big beetle like bug I had to get rid of. Breakfast was extremely disappointing, it came out about two minutes after we ordered, definitely not fresh. Staff not particularly helpful although the lady on the desk did agree we had a bad room and offered us a very small drink as compensation. No what we expected, would not recommend at all which is a shame as is a perfect location for us to visit family. We were also celebrating so the room and experience put a huge dampener on things. Would never stay again.

Stayed with work. Room okay and clean, but air con very loud in the night, so didn’t have any energy to complain. Expected, maybe naively that if you stay in a hotel you can get an evening meal, was told by the lady at the bar “we’re very busy tonight, but if you are staying with us, we’ll feed you” I mean I expect the ‘new normal’ but that was another level of customer service. Food was bang average (cr@p burger for £16), over priced for the quality, particularly drinks at £5.00 for a 330ml bottle of Beer. Breakfast, absolutely appalling had to wait 15 mins for just a pastry and coffee, however, can forgive in the new world post COVID-19.

The wonderful staff at this lovely hotel certainly boosted our rating. Claire and colleagues on reception pulled out the stops to help make sure everyone in our party felt special at our birthday celebration. We stayed overnight in beautiful suites overlooking the park and breakfast in the orangery was stunning.

When we return we will probably eat in one of the wonderful restaurants in wimbledon village - Covid has taken its toll on the restaurant choices and food quality at the hotel which didn’t live up to our overall experience of staff and the location.

Hello, It's not too far to walk to Wimbledon Tennis from here if you are reasonably fit? Just over a mile via Marryat Road and If the weather is nice it's good to see the Common on the way, should take you around 30 minutes, you can then hail a black cab by the Tennis Club to return to the hotel afterwards. Also I noted that Lexus are running a fleet of 4x4 vehicles at the hotel during Wimbledon Tennis, perhaps ask the hotel if they are running them as a shuttle for guests at the hotel to travel to the tennis? Hope this helps and enjoy your visit

Don't think so but you don't need it as there is a huge green gym outside! Surrounding the hotel are beautiful park like grounds which are popular with dog walkers and just across the road is Wimbledon Common with miles of forest and greenland.

My experience is has not been great. The majority staff are not interested. Typically not engaging with the customers, avoiding eye contact. The staff are more interested in flirting with each other. However speak to the manager and express your concerns and see what she says. If they say all there staff are great and look after you then don't use the venue, as they need to accept the problem before it will get better. For a wedding I would insist that the manager is there for the initial meeting, the day before the event and the wedding day itself. I think the venue is in a great location and has a very good chef. The staff are not great when left to their own device. However if the manager is there, who seems to be interested, then it should be good. You have the advantage here of knowing the possible problems.
