Great great location. Really easy place to stay with a young family. The hotel is a nod to Sherlock Holmes but not overdone or schmaltzy. They got it just right. It is quirky and interesting and just luxurious enough. Good value for money. The best gift for our kids that we have ever gotten... Sherlock Holmes books on their bed with a teddy. My 8 year old walked around London with his nose in a book thanks to them. Really lovely touch. They just get it. The restaurant menu is really child friendly too with proper healthy meals that my kids loved. And it never hurts to have a bar in your hotel! The best part about the hotel was the staff. Even when they get stuff wrong they are quick to help remedy it and they go out of their way to make life easy. Will be back for sure. (I mean where else does a hotel give your kids books to read before bed instead of chocolates?!)

The Holmes Hotel is lovely. The whole hotel is very well furnished with a smart, up market feel. Rooms are nice with good decor, Sky Tv and comfortable large beds.
Location is perfect and only a couple of minutes walk to Baker Street tube station which has great tube links with 4 different lines that can be accessed. Also close to Madam Tussaud’s, Regent Park and plenty of bars, restaurants and cafes.

All staff are really friendly and helpful and were really good with our kids.

Food overall is really good, evening menu is very good quality, and the breakfasts were lovely (albeit it would be nice if they were able to make a runny poached egg).

The only reason, we have given 4 stars as opposed to 5 stars is that we were there for a 4 days with 2 children and the room was not attended to at all during the stay (I presume due to COVID restriction). Now we are not people who are concerned about having housekeeping attend each day, however as we were there for 4 days, it meant that our bin was overflowing come day 4, and we had to request fresh towels, extra toilet paper, extra cups and tea bags etc during our stay. I should say that every time we asked for anything it was brought promptly and had we asked for the room to be cleaned I sure they would have arranged it but for 5 star service, sometimes you really shouldn’t have to ask.

This did not massively impact on our stay however and I would not hesitate to stay here again in the future.

My partner and myself stayed here for one night on a flying visit to London . On arrival to the hotel we were greeted by the very friendly reception team , offered a complimentary welcome drink which was a nice touch.

The room was simply but modern in decor, with high quality toiletries and lovely bath robes with soft slippers. The room had a nespresso machine and a tea making facilities too. Safe was in a small wardrobe , size of wardrobe didn’t cause us any issues due to a short stay however may be tight on a longer visit ! The smart tv was welcome which could be connected to your phone, Netflix and a movie subscription app . The only downfall was when a housekeeper / maintenance man entered the room after we had just arrived and were lying on the bed , he left suddenly however this is an issue with privacy , and should have been double checked before entering as he didn’t attempt to knock either .
The downstairs lounge was lovely and warm , numerous chairs and bar area where we enjoyed a cocktail. The Sherlock Holmes theme was dotted throughout with various books, typewriters , photos etc which was lovely without being overwhelming.

Baker Street tube station was a 3 minute walk from the hotel , a nice quiet area in a perfect location to explore the city,we will be back!

First of all, great location. The reception was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Our room, however, was not satisfactory. We honestly stayed for only one night and although we loved some of it we won’t be returning. To our delight, we were able to check into our room shortly after our arrival although we were super early, ca. 8 am. The room, sadly, was quite dirty. It was manly the wooden floor that was visibly dirty, but the bathroom was definitely not satisfactory either. We thought that they were probably in a rush to allow us to check in so early so we didn’t bother to talk to staff. Instead, we had a short nap and before we headed out we made sure to place a please clean my room
sign on our door. After we returned to our room in the evening it had been cleaned for a second time. Sadly, however, it was just as dirty as before and apart from some superficial polishing here and there they basically only did some tiding up. And although we were 2 people, there was only one set of amenities. Those, by the way, consisted only of soap, lotion and shower stuff - no cotton pads, q-tips, thread, toothbrush, tampons, or whatever else there is. I’m only mentioning this because I have never ever stayed in a hotel in London with such a small amenity kit. And this is supposed to be a 4* hotel, right? So after we had some lovely cocktails at the hotel bar I did order some amenities for the second guest because I was honestly a little enraged by this. We stayed for only one night and didn’t bother taking shampoo with us and, most importantly, we booked a room for two people for frickin ~400€. Some things just don’t add up there. Not acceptable, sorry.

The hotel is in a good central location, but some rooms can be very noisy as we found out during our stay. I was a little disappointed by the size of the room as well, given that we had booked a studio. However, the staff were very pleasant and the food we had, including breakfast, was always high quality. It’s a nice place, but even under lockdown, the hotel remains reasonably expensive and I did feel it was slightly overpriced. However they did let us keep the very nice monogrammed slippers!

We booked this hotel as a last minute getaway . We arrived at the hotel an hour before check in time but there was no delay in checking us in. The hotel is in a great location between Baker St and Oxford St. The reception staff were very friendly and welcoming .The room was spacious, light and airy . The bed was huge and although it was firm, it wasn't uncomfortable at all . We had good views over the streets outside and there was a great selection nearby of restaurants, pubs and shops. I had mentioned at the time of booking that it was my birthday and the hotel had kindly decorated the mirror with birthday wishes
We had a great nights sleep and wasn't disturbed by outside noise or movement in the hotel . I had a great shower in the morning and the towels were thick and fluffy. We headed down to breakfast in the restaurant and were greeted by the friendliest restaurant manager and immediately ensured that our table was laid and tea served by the attentive waiting staff. I chose avocado on sourdough with poached eggs. The eggs were literally perfect! I followed with granola and yoghurt which was equally as tasty.
We decided to spend the day in Camden and the hotel were happy to look after our bags for the day even after we had checked out . This was such a helpful gesture and enabled us to enjoy our day without any worries .
it was a very enjoyable stay which was enhanced by the fantastic service we received from every staff member we encountered . This hotel didn't disappoint

Happy to be back at Holmes for another visit post Lockdown. Felt very safe with the Covid Measures in place and saw all staff wearing Masks and Gloves. My Rooms was beyond spotless, and had signs and tags telling you everything has been sanitised, it felt super clean and the Cleaning Staff were also wearing, aprons, gloves, masks etc not easy I bet doing this kind of work but the Lady I spoke with made it look effortless and always had a smile, a fellow Scot!

Breakfast was okay, I never enjoy a room service breakfast but I understand why, and it was good for what it was and the staff who delivered both days were lovely. As is everyone at Holmes!

We stayed in a family room which was fresh clean and had access to adjacent room if required which was secure and perfect for our stay. Every staff member seemed to smile and were always helpful to make sure we had everything we needed during our stay. The hotel is in a perfect location for a walk or tube into London and we enjoyed bright sunshine throughout our stay which enabled us to walk down to Embankment and see the sights.
Our reason for the trip was a family birthday and the Hotel provided us with an amazing space, tucked away which had our own private bar and billiard table. The room was perfect as we had small children with us, and they were able to settle whilst the adults caught up after not seeing each other for a long time.
The food was another piece of this magic experience with dinner and breakfast being provided to a large group without any fuss and all requirements catered for. The food was excellent & I would recommend the steak - it's special.
We will be looking to use this hotel whenever we travel to London and hopefully it won't be long before we can return. Thank-you to all the staff for an amazing experience

I stayed at the Holmes hotel for the first time and had a fantastic time. It was effortless to find for someone who doesn't live in London and is very conveniently located next to a tube station. The room was large and comfortable, ambient music playing in the background, welcome message on the TV, enjoyed the cosy slippers and the sherlock style desk provided with multiple charging docks was very useful. The food was exquisite and cannot recommend Sherlock's Pipe cocktail enough! The staff was helpful and professional throughout the whole experience, from check-in to dinner, to breakfast to check-out.

I had a fantastic time in London, mainly due to having the opportunity to stay at the Holmes hotel. Will definitely return!

We recently stayed two nights at The Holmes. The location is absolutely fantastic! Chiltern Street is quiet with some lovely independent coffee shops and then just a 10 min walk away you have the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street.

It was so convenient being able to check in and out online using the app, it’s really simple and enables you to use your phone to open your room door. You can also order room service on it.

When we arrived, the room had a ‘your room has been sanitised’ sign on the outside of the door. The remote was wrapped in a sealed bag and there was another ‘sanitised’ sign on the toilet. I was impressed with how clean it was!

The room was very spacious and the bed was by far the comfiest I’ve ever stayed in at a hotel! There is a large TV, tea and coffee facilities, iron and a desk if you need to work. There is also a small fridge you can put your own things in which is very handy for drinks. The WiFi is excellent.

The walls of the hotel rooms are very thin so it can be quite noisy when people are walking past.

The Receptionists are welcoming and friendly. We will definitely come back!
