Booked this hotel 5 months prior to our trip, and after staying there this past week, I am very surprised at some of the other reviews. Did they stay at the same hotel we did?? It's very close to the Earl's Court tube station, and we had a great check in experience. We arrived prior to check in time, but since our room was ready, they let us check in early, which was welcomed after flying overnight from the US. Yes, the elevator was out of commission, but we knew that ahead of time. Honestly, that was the only bad part of the trip. For a European hotel, we found the size to be very comfortable. We had no issues with hot water, plenty to be found for two adults both showering in the morning. We also found it to be very clean, no notice of stains or mildew mentioned in other reviews. The hotel is a 5 minute walk to the tube station, and pubs and coffee are close by. Wish I had taken more photos of the hotel and room, but we had too much fun so I just forgot until the last night. Stayed there 4 nights.

I’ve stayed at the Hotel Moonlight on about ten different occasions and reviewed it positively on Trip Advisor. But after my recent 7 night stay in winter I had to post another review. Its just as good as it ever was and offers some of the best value accommodation in London. I paid on average GBP 100 per night for a single room on the first level. As a solo traveller it was all I needed. The bed is comfy, the shower works fine and the room is soundproofed from the outside traffic. And best of all it is a 3 minute walk from Earl’s Court tube station.

I’ll be back Moonlighting later this year.

I stayed here just before London was totally gripped by virus restrictions.
It was close enough to Earl's Court tube station but far enough so that traffic wouldn't be an issue.

The general manager said he was new and getting to grips with the place. That accounted for the reason he always seemed to be at the front desk from early to late.

The rooms were very nicely laid out but one or two areas needed a bit of tlc and redecoration.
The elevators weren't working but I did see an engineer in the machinery space going about things so I'm sure it won't be long before it's working again.

The staff were friendly and I'm sure to visit again when any virus restrictions on the hospitality industry are lifted again.

My stay was during the Queen's funeral. Rates were reasonable, and the room had everything I needed - microwave, tea maker, mini-fridge, A/C, reliable wi-fi, etc. Literally, 3 minutes from Earl's Court tube stop which has Piccadilly line to Heathrow. Several dining options nearby. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you.

We booked this hotel for it's location to train station, Laundromat in the same street, fridge and lift. The hotel was booked months before and upon arrival we were informed that the lift was broken and has been for a while. They gave us a room on the fourth four. It would of been nice if we were informed before our arrival as we had several heavy bags. The room was small. The hot water only lasted for a very quick shower. Several times we could not have shower as there was no hot water. Mentioned to staff. Place good for a overnight stay, we were there for 6 days.

The first impressions were good as the hotel looked well maintained and the staff were very welcoming. The room was nicely presented and very clean. The bed was probably one of the most comfortable I've slept in! Hotel rooms in this location tend to be small due to the nature of the buildings, but we were content as the facilities were excellent, eg fridge, coffee making, etc. It was also a very quiet hotel. We would stay there again.

Staff were lovely. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Plenty of tea/ coffee and biscuits. Location is great. The bathroom in room 920 needs a bit of tlc - bath plug cannon be removed without a spoon / knife. Some of the grouting is cracked.

What an awful, disgusting and disappointing experience. Terrible service, from a very rude staff member. Small, damp, smelly room with wall coming off, we didn’t stay the night, stayed 30 mins before deciding this wasn’t how we wanted our only night in London to be. We weren’t refunded, and we havnt had any of our 5 emails replied to. Please if your visiting London, stay as far away from this shocking hotel as possible. I really don’t know how it is still running.

The room was small but had lots of storage space and was perfectly adequate for our needs. Lovely hot bath and powerful shower. Safe, good sized fridge and ice department. Sol on reception was so helpful and friendly. We would stay again when travelling to London for the Royal Albert Hall, which is a fifteen minute walk

The staff was friendly and helpful from the get go. I wish I knew his name but one young man ran out and carried my suitcase up the few steps into the lobby upon arrival. The lobby is small but has a Nespresso and fruit basket for the guests' morning coffee. Also tasty biscuits are provided on the first night. We had a superior double room which was just right for two people. My brother booked a small double which would be rather snug for two. I was glad to have the superior double. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean. Nice bathroom but be careful getting in and out of shower. The floor can be slick. The location was close to Earls Court tube station. Paul coffee shop across from the tube is great. Also we had yummy fish and chips at nearby Blackbird. I would recommend this quaint boutique hotel-very charming, very comfortable and close to tube.

It is fine from a noise point of view and simply ask not to be placed on the basement floor. It was a great hotel.
Answer from Eva E
Lund, Sweden187 contributions81 helpful votes
My room faced the road and there was hardly any noise at all (even during the day) as the windows were very well insulated (double glazed at least) and traffic was light at night. Ask for a room on the upper floors. When I booked there was a price difference between rooms in the basement and other rooms - I paid the higher price as I'm also claustrophobic.
