Neighbourhood
Marylebone
Marylebone offers what so many London neighbourhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.

Absolutely disappointed, not Marriott standard, the holet is good located but is definitely not enough, the service is sleeping and Michael the director was to busy to talk to us. That’s what the floor manager said! Better use Hilton.

The hotel really need a renovation. Don’t worth the name to stay in . The toilets are too old 😱. There is no basic things ( even slippers ) The front desk is ok . But don’t value for elite members . I don’t think they understand how to retain the loyal members of a brand

We arrived after 3pm when our room should have been available to be told our room was not ready and would be about an hour so we offered to wait in the executive lounge until the room was ready and reception assured us that they would call when the room was ready. Two hours later I went to find out why we had not yet been called and was told that housekeeping was checking the room and it would be available in the next half hour and again reassured we would be called when the room was ready. We only found out the room was ready when I chased reception again as once more they had failed to notify us when the room was ready. When we got to our room we found it had not been set up correctly as the sofa bed had not been made up for our son, there was only one dressing gown and slippers in the room and the luggage we had left in the luggage room because the room was not ready had not been delivered to the room. In addition to this when we tried to use the case stand we found it was broken and had to request a replacement. Things continued to be less than satisfactory as on the Saturday morning we received an alarm call at 07:00 we had not requested. Getting the call was particularly annoying as we had planned a lie in and a leisurely morning. On the Sunday morning I rang down to reception to request a late check out and was told check out could be only be extended to 13:00 which although better than nothing considering our experiences at check in rankled somewhat and was not very accommodating.

Was generously bought a voucher from Buy A Gift for Sunday Brunch with bottomless Prosecco, with its expiry due in one month I thought I better go ahead and book.... Emailed and was politely informed there was no availability for 8 weeks! It made no mention of the time scale to book and I felt a month was plenty of time to get a space. I looked online to see the cost of extension and it comes in £30- what a rip off. I can only assume this is one of those sneaky scams set where they simply over sell the voucher spaces in the hope you never use them or buy the extortionate additional charge to extend. How many bottles of Prosecco could I buy for the cost of the extension charge alone.

Dear 'Blackcup1', Thank you for your feed back. I am very sorry, you feel that strongly about the booking and we certainly didn't intend to upset you. We are assuming you wanted to book our afternoon tea on a Saturday or Sunday. As most offers, we have a restriction of how many bookings we take at a reduced price. If you want to make a reservation on a weekend day, we have indeed no availability left until the 7th of December due to a very high demand. Should you wish to book during the week between 12 and 17:00, we have still availability left and please let us know if you want to pursue this route by emailing us with a date and time. I am very sorry and would like to apologise if that was not made clear. As to the price, I am sad to hear that you feel £30 per person for a 2 hours bottomless 'bubbles' afternoon tea is too expensive, however we feel the price is still very reasonable. Kind regards Kirsten The Pickled Hen

Hello! Do you get toiletries in the bathroom?
Yes, they had toiletries...but take note that Marriott recently announced phasing out complementary toiletries in hotel rooms. I don't know when this policy takes effect, so be aware. When we were there, there was a set of toiletries distributed for Elite / Platinum guests (L'Occitane) and another brand for "regular" guests.

The lounge is accessed with our room key, so if you qualify as a Platinum member for concierge level, you should be able to access it. But, yes I would confirm it with the desk. When I was there, it was Ramadan so the restaurant was open extra late.

Hi, Any self-service laundromat near the hotel and feedback? Thanks, Sue
Dear Sue Although your query was sometime ago, and for which we apologise. There are two self operated launderettes near the hotel. 'Lila Launderettes' in Seymour Place and 'Central Wash' in Crawford Street. During the week, Lila's opens from 7.70am to 9.30pm and Central Wash from 8am to 8pm. Both are not more than 5 minutes away from the hotel. Directions can be obtained from the concierge. Kind regards Marriott Marble Arch
