Great place to stay when in london, rooms are a pretty good size compared to other hotels. We didn’t get a very good view however you can py extra to get a view for grosever square. Oxford street and bond station are less than a 2 min walk. Highly recommend!
For the price, the room was small (2 twins) and the bathroom was tiny. Also, they were painting the hallways on the hall during the stay (2nd floor). However, the location was great (we walked to high tea at Claridge's and took the bus to Harrod's) and the service was also good. The room wasn't ready when I checked in, so I went to their business lounge, which was more like an airport lounge. After over 10 hours of flying, it would have been nice if the room was ready, but I had to wait over an hour (I arrived at the hotel a little after 1pm ).…
Just returned from a nine-night stay at the Marriott Grosvenor Square, and am glad that my mom and I chose this property again. We very much enjoyed the trip last year, and the hotel has continued to improve on their "guest experience". While the hotel doesn't quite get five stars from me, the vast majority of my impression is great. In particular, the M Club Lounge (executive lounge) experience is probably the reason we will continue to return. The hotel seems to be very popular with business travelers and there is a high level of activity no matter the time. The lounge provides a quiet, clean, and cozy atmosphere to escape the hubbub of the main restaurant (Maze Grill). Amenities include still and sparkling water on tap, a variety of bottled tonic water, sodas, and carbonated drinks, and different food offered throughout the day. Specifically, the hot breakfast is wonderful - there are always eggs, potatoes, bacon/sausage, and a vegetarian option (falafel, etc) as well as a full spread of pastries, fruit, and cold cuts. The lattes and cappuccinos from the espresso machine are a great way to start the morning before heading out on a day of sightseeing, and I enjoyed being able to sample various bits of global cuisine. Coming back after that day out, the "happy hour" offerings are worthy of a restaurant. My particular favorites this trip were the Thai green chicken curry, and gnocchi with fishcakes, as well as the ever-present crudites with baba ghanoush and hummus. A few nights we didn't even venture out again for a full dinner elsewhere, but stayed in the lounge to enjoy the desserts as well (always Victoria sponge cake and one other treat). The staff go out of their way to make guests feel welcome, and are cheerful and friendly but not intrusive. The M Club manager Kalpesh stopped by our table every morning, asking after our sightseeing from the day before. On the last day, Mom slept in (up late packing), and when I told Kalpesh he insisted on sending me back up to our room with hot breakfast for her. That kind of hospitality? Rare. Our room was spacious and clean with a large bathroom. The hotel provides in-room coffee and tea (as do many other hotels), but the addition of tiny Walker shortbread biscuits next to the kettle is noteworthy. My only criticisms are as follows: - The HVAC system means that the air has to be constantly running or the room feels stuffy. Unfortunately, the ceiling vent is placed to blow directly onto the bed and cannot be adjusted, which makes for either very cold or very warm nights. - There are plenty of electrical outlets, but placement of furniture blocks roughly half of them for use when guests are plugging in adapters. I ended up having to use the hairdryer and flatiron over by my nightstand because the closest outlet to the bathroom was inaccessible behind the edge of the desk. - The tub/shower has a high side and is placed higher up that ones I'm used to in the U.S. As a result, it makes stepping in and out awkward and potentially dangerous when slippery. I'm 5'3, but felt unsteady doing so. - The event spaces in the hotel are always busy which is good for business, but the noise/music can be heard the next floor up on the other side of the hotel at midnight. Bottom line? If you want to stay in Mayfair in a nice hotel with plenty of options for eating in, this is the place to go.…
My first visit in a Marriott for over a year...but I attended a conference here. Nice clean room, attentive staff, very well positioned but disappointing executive lounge, on the night I visited, nobody was in attendance.
When we are looking for that special one off treat in London, always our go to hotel. The staff are the real deal, always pleasant and smiling. Not necessarily a place to be able to spend a lot of the time eating and drinking, but both the Luggage room bar for children cocktails and the bar in Gordon Ramsey’s restaurant were always our starting and/or end points for each day out exploring Great location, rooms, service and staff -well worth it!…
"Upper floor overlooking courtyard are quietest - there is a lot of noisy construction in the neighborhood."Read full review
