Neighbourhood
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighbourhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.

So if I was having a holiday in London I would not book here, to use for 1-2 Nights it’s fine, rooms are adequate bedding, showers etc are fine and it’s a great location. Negatives are the Breakfast included in your price is Shocking, the decor is dated and tired, woodchip paper etc. That said you get what you pay for in London and I would use the place again as a short stop over.

We stayed here for 2 nights, there were 5 of us staying in 1 room. 2 adults to teens and 1 child. Our room was on the ground floor. It consisted of a set of bunks and 3 single beds and a bathroom. The beds while a little firm were fresh and clean. The room suited us as a base for just sleeping, the bathroom was fine except the shower was scalding hot. A continental breakfast was included in the price. It was perfect for an early start. The staff were friendly we were able to leave our luggage in a spare sitting room while waiting for check in and after checkout. We rented a security box for 2£ a day. This saved carrying passports. There are lots of restaurants and shops close by. The are is safe and attractive. Hyde park is huge and just a 5 min walk away. We could walk through it to the Nat. Hist museum and science museum in 30 mins. The city centre is an hour's walk away for shopping Tec. We got the original tour hop on hop off bus. An early morning shuttle leaves from a stop just 5 mins walk away from lords hotel. For us the location was fantastic as it meant we did not have to use public transport with kids, we could walk or tour instead. Hyde park close by is lovely. The price of the hotel made our trip v. Doable. There are no frills but suited us and our needs perfectly. The only down side was the super hot shower.

The hotel was a dissapointment. The rooms were in bad condition. The carpet was disgusting and had many weird coloured stains. The bathroom was small and had mold. The cleaners did a poor job and the towels were not changed once during our visit. The location was good and the room was spacious. Would recommend this for friends who are looking for a cheap place to stay.
