Stayed here with my daughter for 6 nights, the outside is great and the foyer looks lovely, the staff are very helpful and the rooms are cleaned every day, but the carpets are threadbare and the tv is so small and only had 1 channel that you could watch, no internet in the rooms, no air conditioning and the carpet on the stairs is nailed down where there is holes, we had crack in our sink and the floors tiles in the bathroom which was very close, you can hear every foot step from the room upstairs, what did surprise us was that we were on a non smoking floor( which was good as non smokers) but did not think you could smoke inside public places anymore, there is no smoke detectors only and old fashioned alarm I suppose sounds if you need to get out, for £450 for 6 nights next to paddington station it was a good price but it really does just need a bit of TLC and it would be lovely …
Stayed 1 night on business trip as cheap hotel close to Paddington station. Despite saying so, there is no internet in the rooms - only the reception area and on my stay this was not working. Checked in fine and then went down to reception at 5pm to ask for an iron and an ironing board to find some other guests complaining that they had been kept awake until 3am due to some drunk people staying in the room next door. Receptionist told them there was nothing she could do about it and said to them "let's hope they check-out soon". I asked for an iron and ironing board to iron shirt for following day. Was given an ironing board and then when I asked for an iron I was told there is only 1 in the whole hotel and another guest hadn't brought it back yet. Receptionist told me not to worry and she would bring it up to my room later. At 11pm, still nothing so went down to reception. Guest had not brought iron back. I had to ask ger to phone the room and then go and knock on the door to get it, which apparently wasn't answered. Was promised by her that she would have it ready early next morning. Phoned reception the next morning and different reception staff who didn't know where the iron was. Was just told "there's nothing we can do boss" and they hung up. Now have to go to business meeting in either a creased un-ironed shirt or wear the same one I wore yesterday. In summary, rude staff and poor service even for the low price. Will not be staying here again and you can get far better hotels along the same street for similar price.…
Not the nicest rooms, but clean, quiet and great staff. And its in Paddington, so walking distance to Oxford Street and Hyde Park. Area also has a lot of restaurants and pubs. Paddington station close, and tube also very close
Located overlooking a small park. Adequate rooms and a decent continental breakfast at a fair price. Very handy for Paddington station and underground. Only a five-minute walk to Kensington Gardens and speaker's corner. A very pleasant stroll across the park (to the south) gets you to the Royal Albert Hall and museums. Plenty of good food nearby on London Street, including fish & chips, pubs, Italian, middle-eastern, and a great Indian restaurant (The Mughal's).…
This hotel has had some rough reviews and is a bit run down. A lot of what is said may be true, however, if you are in London to visit London, then this is a great place to sleep. Paddington station is within a stones throw, buses are all around you, there are innumerable cafes, restaurants all a minute or 2 walk away and the staff are very helpful and considerate. The wifi is only in the common area, but the area is comfortable and if you can make do, you're set.…
"Rooms at the front of the hotel overlook Norfolk Square which is very pleasant all year round and quiet."Read full review
