We booked a twin bedded room well in advance to ensure there would be no problem getting the type of room we required. We also checked in early but even so we were told that there were no twin rooms available and they put us in a tiny corner room with a double bed. The receptionist showed zero interest in...

Location was better than expected, quiet and 15 mins walk from the action. After a harrowing drive through Central London, the 'limited hotel parking' turned out to be very limited indeed- about 12 spaces! The NCP down the road was £32 per night which is exorbitant. If I'd known of the hotel parking I would have prebooked the NCP for...

Visited with husband and 10yr old son. I booked the Holiday Inn so initially had a problem finding the hotel - no email advising of the name change. It's a 15-20 walk from Russell Sq Tube and the same from Farringdon. The hotel is actually pretty good but I have said average due to the maintenance work which was ongoing...

We have just returned back from a two day y stay at this hotel, which was previously the Holiday Inn until February this year. On arrival we were greeted by friendly, well informed staff and by luck we had an upgrade (free) to a Queen Suite. The room was very clean and spacious and was perfect for our needs, the...

Stayed 2 nights while visiting London with our 2 kids. Nice clean bedroom with 2 double comfortable beds, lovely bathroom and relatively quiet area. Used the pool on the 1st day which was lovely too. Breakfast had lots of choice from Full English to continental, juices, cereals etc. Staff very attentive. Used the restaurant for dinner and also for lunch....

Staying in Clerkenwell

Neighbourhood Profile
Clerkenwell
Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site of an ancient meat market which remains in operation today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough time wondering through the area's maze of streets and you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky models passing between Clerkenwell's handful of fashion houses. Far outnumbering the models are craftspeople and designers, many of them are more than happy to welcome visitors into their studios and showrooms.
