I spent nearly a week at the London Town Hotel. On the whole the experience was a good one, though it is far from a standout.

The pluses first the hotel is clean and well cared for, staff turned the rooms and left them clean and comfortable. The location is hard to beat, a few hundred feet from the Earl's Court Underground Station is also a plus as is the the street being quiet. Staff were friendly and got to know me over my stay which is a pleasant thing, almost like being welcomed home. The bathroom particularly in comparrison to the rest of the room was of a generous size and extremely clean and the shower good. While the heat is regulated by a mechanical thermostat on the radiator it actually worked remarkably well.

The single room I had was very small, mind you it was quite inexpensive and I knew this going in but there was no place in the room where you could sit and read, or watch TV other than a small desk chair. While the bathroom was nicely designed and clean as I mentioned it wasvery short on shelf space. I travel lightly but even finding space to keep my toothbrush, a razor, hair brush and three pill bottles exhausted the space and things frequently slipped off the shelf into the sink. Other issues this is an older frame building noise travels, this was not a major hardship but it is worth mentioning as some could find it hard to get to sleep. The radiator is exposed and as there is less than 16 inches from it to the bed one can brush up against it. When it has been on for a while it can get unpleasantly hot, I am not sure one would be burned if you contacted it but it seems likely. Closet space is very limited and there is no place to store a suitcase so the room was quickly over crowded.

Breakfast was basic but adequate for the price, and there is a nicely furnished lounge and the backyard garden might be pleasant in the summer.

The hotel is a decent place to stay but can be called no more than average as a few more dollars in the same neighborhood can get you more for the dollar.

This is my second stay in the hotel after almost 5 years. State for four nights on the ground floor room every thing worked well if we had a problem the reception is just a step away again the chief receptionist has a very good job and the rest of them are very helpful the lounge upstairs gives you tea coffee and hot chocolate and nice to sitoverlooking the garden. The great thing is in the summer be overlooked a little garden plus you can open the windows. Tube just around the corner Rooms are sparkling clean

Biggest advantage of this hotel being the location, a minute walk to Earls Court station makes it easy to get around London while visiting.

Rooms were clean and spacious enough, staff were friendly and helpful.

If you're visiting London and want to stay in a cheaper hotel while still being fairly central, this is the one.

I don't have anything bad to say. Location is perfect, near Earls court subway station. The staff are friendly and helpful and always there. My single room was really comfy, always clean and the bed was huge.

I will definitely reccomend this hotel to friends and family and "I will be back".

Clean, nice and quiet. The staff was wery kind. Easy to go to central London. The only minus for us was the early breakfast time, 9 o'clock is the latest you can come in weekdays. Everything else is fine!

We arrived at the hotel early in the morning after an overnight flight from the Washington DC area. We couldn't check in yet, but they held our bags (four of them) and we walked one-half block down the street turned a corner and walked about another half block back to the Earl's Court Underground Station. The location is terrific - located a very easy walk to the Underground, and the Earl's Court Station is on both the Piccadilly and District/Circle lines providing easy access to all areas of the city. From there, we went all over the city as well as to Wimbledon and Windsor Castle - both of which are outside of the city. We had no trouble getting anywhere. We had bought a 50 pound sterling visitor Oyster Card for travel in zones 1 and 2, and didn't need to "top it off" (i.e. add extra money to cover travel outside zones 1 & 2), except to get from Heathrow Airport and back. The Oyster card can be used on the buses and some of the rail lines, too - depending on which kind of Oyster card you get. We also read that you can mail the card back to get a refund of unused credit on the card, which we'll be doing in the next few days.

The hotel itself had an unusual arrangement that I've never seen this in the U.S. - a family room- which had a queen size bed and two twins. We have two college age children - one male and one female - and two queen beds don't work out for us any more like they used to when the kids were younger. The room was small, but it had an en suite bathroom with a shower, sink and toilet, and there was wi-fi throughout the hotel (a must have amenity for our college age kids). The room was a little small - but typical of European rooms in individually operated hotels.

They served a "continental" breakfast with cereal, small danishes, toast, hard boiled eggs and ham, canned peaches, apples and bananas, yogurt and coffee/tea, apple & orange juice, milk and water. The menu didn't change at all in the 7 days we were there, but it was sufficient to get us started each day.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the room was cleaned each day. It was a little bit cheaper to stay a little further away from the downtown area, and the underground is so close, we didn't find being a little further out an inconvenience at all.

We'd recommend staying at the London Town Hotel, especially if you are traveling with your family. There were also a few good restaurants/pubs nearby, and a grocery store at the end of the block.

Stayed here 2 or 3 times ( last was May 2014) and that says something. Hotel has a perfect location which I personally consider to be the most important thing if you come to a big city. It's within less than 5 min walk from the tube (district and Piccadilly lines), shops and pubs are nearby. Staff is friendly and helpful and the breakfast is very decent (toasts, Jude tea and coffee, boiled eggs, cheese, ham, some muesli, fruit and yogurt) to start you off for a day of sightseeing. I always took a single room and those are notoriously expensive and small compared to the doubles, however I have no complaints - within price range it is as good as can be expected, and for me - an ultimate option to go for if I'm ever in London again on my own. Overall I recommend this hotel to reasonable people who need a safe and conveniently located place to stay while exploring London. Only thing I which was added is some sort of shelf in the shower to put you shampoo and shower gel on.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for two nights at the beginning of our vacation and we returned for three nights at the end of our vacation. I chose this hotel based on the price, its reviews on Tripadvisor, and its proximity to the Tube.

The hotel is very, very close to the Earl's Court tube stop, but on a quiet side street which is great. There are many other hotels on the street but London Town was one of the lower priced options. The room décor is outdated and lacks any character. The walls have dings in them and the bathroom ceiling fan had A LOT of dust in it. The shower itself was extremely small. I couldn't bend in it without hitting the wall and I am not a large person. The water pressure and temperature was good. We had a bit of trouble getting the Wi-Fi to work upon arrival but had no problems with it once we were connected. I was not a fan of the breakfast so we only went down to the basement to have it one morning.

Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a decent place to stay while exploring London. My husband and I are not the types of travelers who hang out and relax in hotel rooms - we'd rather be out and about. If you are looking for something more than a convenient place to stay, you may want to look into other options. That being said, the price is probably the best you will find for a small hotel close to a main Tube stop in London.

Dear kedalano, Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. I am sorry to hear that you found the room décor outdated and without character. Our rooms are decorated simply whilst facilitating the budget conscious traveller’s needs. Our price point reflects this as you have correctly mentioned. I have informed the cleaning staff to be more aware of ceiling fans during their daily cleaning. I am glad that you would be happy to recommend the hotel further. Kind Regards Manager

My first time in London and so happy I chose this hotel. Location is perfect! Less than 5mins from Earl's Court underground station. I stayed 3nights in a single room on the 1st floor with a view of the street:) The street is lined with hotels and safety is not an issue. The staff were very polite:) The coffee and tea making facilities are at the lounge area on the 1st floor. The smoking area at the terrace outside the lounge.

For the price it was very decent - clean, breakfast included, had a private bathroom, wifi, a lift (Quite small but very useful if you have heavy luggage just as I did:) too!

Earl's Court station is also a very convenient stop. There are plenty of cafés,restaurants (try Nando's at the corner!) pubs, money changers and convenience stores.

The tube would be the convenient and saves a lot of hassle. Get yourself an Oyster card from the airport (you can use it for train and bus travel during your stay in London). From Heathrow it's about 40 minutes journey to Earl's Court station. London Town Hotel is about 100 metres from the station. Do check out Google Maps to see the exact location or the Hotel's own website.
