The Sloane Square Hotel garners praise for its prime location, often being highlighted by guests for its proximity to shops, dining options, and transport links. While some travelers find the rooms on the smaller side and have concerns about cleanliness, the comfortable beds and quiet ambiance generally earn positive remarks. Service at the hotel is frequently lauded, with staff members receiving accolades for their attentive and helpful demeanor. The Sloane Square Hotel has become something of a home away from home in London, and I’ve now stayed in several of the different room categories. Because it’s an old building no two rooms are exactly alike. Some have baths and some showers (shower this time) but otherwise amenities are the same and include free, fast wifi. On this occasion I was upgraded to a Club Room with a very comfortable king size bed, more room to rattle around in, and a complimentary buffet breakfast, which I was able to enjoy before an early departure for Heathrow from Sloane Square Underground station, just across the road. It’s already a very good breakfast buffet selection, but I was told it is shortly to be revamped and improved. On a chilly January night I much appreciated the welcoming glow of the fire in the lobby – as did a guest who was able to sit comfortably close to it while waiting for me to arrive - and a similarly warm welcome from staff who remembered me. Service is thoughtful and personal in a friendly and informal way, and contrasts very favourably with that of some much more expensive properties not too far away. Given the hotel’s proximity to both Cadogan Hall and the Royal Court Theatre I may plan ahead and book some tickets before my next stay, but this time I just braved the freezing rain for the short walk to The Antelope in Eaton Terrace, one of the few Central London pubs with the characteristics of a genuine local. It wasn’t just the prospect of an economy class long haul to Hong Kong that made me sorry to leave Chelsea.

The hotel is a boutique style, nice rooms if you choose superior, small if you choose standard. For central London the pricing is competitive, there is a Brasserie on the property for quality inexpensive meals. all of the staff seem pretty nice and helpful. Our arrival date somehow got confused but it was quickly rectified.
The hotel location is very good with buses, taxi's and a tube station all within 50 metres of the entrance.

The Sloan Square Hotel faces a lively, yet quiet spot of the city. It's an oasis of peace with extra features like signature toiletries and more pillows for extra comfort. The lounge is not open and the Spritzes are superb!
The staff is very kind, professional and but friendly. The team was extremely diligent and helpful by keeping our luggage before checking in and giving extra info on bus routes. It saved us on a day with metro interruptions.
This hotel is perfect for couples and those who are planning to visit the Museum quarter (V&A, Science, Natural History).
Jessica from the reception is super sweet!

Charming individual hotel (not part of a group) located in a superb location in London. Great for shops, restaurants and theatres.

Although the room was slightly small it had a very comfortable bed with good quality bed linen. Also good quality bath towels.

It was a great treat to have free coffee and mince pies served from 12 - 6pm in the breakfast room overlooking Sloane Square.

Housekeeping was excellent. Everyone on reception was wonderful - professional, efficient, helpful and efficient.

I had booked directly through the hotel and said I’d be arrived slightly earlier than the usual check in time. When I arrived the room was ready. Very Impressed.

I look forward to staying again.

We booked to go to this hotel for one night at the end of May. We booked a superior double room and the package included breakfast.

Firstly, the good points.
The hotel is in a very convenient spot, it is literally a minute away from Sloane Square underground station and there are a variety of shops bars and restaurants within the vicinity.

The staff were very friendly and were the saving grace of the hotel. reception staff were professional but in a friendly fun way and, when we asked for ironing facilities to be sent to the room these arrived within minutes of our request.

Then the not so good points:-

there was only one lift for the hotel which meant a bit of a wait on occasions. there was a stair case but for less able bodied customers this may not be practical.

I must say that we were sadly disappointed with the room itself. We could not believe how small it was, and in fact I rang down to reception in order to check whether we had been put in the right room!

We were told that the difference in rooms (and the price) was that the superior double room had a larger bathroom than the standard double.

I would agree that the bathroom was the same size as the bedroom, but quite frankly this was wasted space - I would much rather have had a larger bedroom.

the floor size itself was big for a bathroom but consisted of a tiny shower and an even smaller toilet space - or should I say a toilet with two walls either side, with no door to either the toilet or the bathroom, which meant no privacy whatsoever.

I would definitely say that if you are of slightly larger build, the use of either the shower or the toilet would not have been a comfortable experience.

I must also point out that our room was very 'tired' and the bathroom could have done with an overhaul.

the room itself was clean but had limited amenities compared to other London hotels that we have stayed in. the coffee making facilities were stored in the single wardrobe which was bizarre, I can only assume this was because of the lack of space elsewhere. The safe was also in the wardrobe, ours didn't work but to be fair I didn't take issue with this as we were only staying for one night.

The variety of breakfast was somewhat limited and only a continental style was offered. although we got to the breakfast room after 8am staff were still putting food out (other guests did express their frustration at this). However, the food was fresh and tasty.

would I stay here again? probably not, despite its convenient location. Sadly I had optimistic expectations which were not met.

Dear JoJoBuk, Thank you for taking the time to leave a detailed review. You're feedback is much appreciated. I'm pleased you enjoyed the location and the staff were so helpful. So sorry to read there were elements of your stay that didn't meet you expectations. Built in the 19th century, the building is full of quirkiness and character. We have a variety of room types and we do our best to describe these on our website so guests can choose what suit their needs best. Our Continental breakfast buffet is served from 7am -10am and the team will replenish it throughout service in order to keep all items as fresh as possible. My apologies if there were any delays during your visit. I do hope we will have the chance to welcome you back in the future and change your mind about Sloane Square Hotel. If we can help with any future booking do get in touch with us directly. Thank you again for your review.

On entering the hotel we were greeted with a big smile, hidden behind a mask but clear from the happy eyes and welcoming words. The receptionist booked us in which took just a few minutes. She advised us on covid safety at the hotel and we were pleased to see they were doing all they can to keep us and their staff safe.

On entering the room, we saw a room seal showing the room had been cleaned and disinfected which was very reassuring.

The room was nice, the bed very comfortable and a good selection of mini bar drinks and snacks were on hand. The shower was awesome, powerful and hot!

Our view over the square was great in the evening with people enjoying drinks as lockdown is eased, it felt great to see people out having fun again.

Typical that rained when we went to explore the area, but very kindly the hotel provided umbrellas for us.

There is are several nice elephant displays in the area and some really great restaurants and bars. The Botanist next door to the hotel is really good.

This booking was great value for a luxury hotel with late check out in a brilliant location, a bus there and back direct to the Royal Albert Hall for the Proms/museums/Kensington Palace. Was apprehensive with the affordable cost for a hotel with continental breakfast in London, but this was impressive. This hotel was close to the tube (Sloane Square) and was within walking distance/bus rides to many locations. The beds were so comfortable and rooms immaculately clean. Our bijou bathroom had a very small shower unfortunately, which was a shame as everything else was excellent, including the breakfast, which was on the first floor in a pleasant dining area and offered a good selection to help yourself to, together with hot drinks served by an attentive member of staff.

Definitely far from being a four star hotel.

Made a booking for two people, the bed was tiny (queen size) - which even at the reception they told me is normally for one person.

Size aside after the first night the back pain was horrendous as the bed is rock solid (for me it’s the most important part of staying the night somewhere).

Try to resolve the issue, were told we would need to upgrade and pay more.

Used to live in the area for 6 years and there are plenty B&Bs (because honestly, that’s the standard that you’d be getting) which are much better quality/price.

Will not stay again.

It appears that you have stayed in one of our Small Double. These rooms are designed for short stays as they have limited space indicated by the name. However, I can confirm the beds are all double. I agree that bed is the most import element of a hotel room and we regularly receive great feedback regarding the comfort of our beds as we regularly upgrade our beds amongst other things in the rooms. Could you please kindly email me brief details of your booking to puji@sloanesquarehotel.co.uk. Once i know the room you stayed, i would like to personally check the bed. Many thanks

I again visited Sloane Square Hotel in mid February for 5 days. The rooms are very nice and the staff is very friendly, giving very good service, always with a smile. The breakfast room on the first floor provides a nice breakfast in quiet surroundings, with a great view of the Square. This is my favorite hotel when visiting London and I can highly recommend it. Needless to say the location is also perfect.

best regards

The hotel has an excellent location, right on Sloane Square and that is why I chose the hotel The tube station- Sloane Square is across the street, Kings Road which has great shopping is within walking distance and there are a couple of really good brasseries around the square including one in the hotel. It is a small understated boutique hotel. The elevator or lift has the look of a library, very cool. The only downside is the room I stayed in looked "tired" the staff informs me they are renovating their rooms, although I stayed in a double room there was literally no closet space, however, that will not deter me from going back.
