Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beware of online reservations. I thought that the rooms I requested were not available and I did not get any confirmation that I had booked a room. I was charged over $200 for a “no show”. I had to go to hotel to see if they had a reservation in my name because at first I thought I had a fraudulent charge on my credit card. The employees were nice but there was no manager on duty to hear my complaint.

We were let down by another hotel in Bayswater so phoned the hotel and asked them for a room that evening. Carlos showed us the room and was wonderful and very helpful. The hotel was clean and a good standard. Carlos was an absolute super star and saved the day.

No reception - 5 floors without lift and with luggage is not worth the price of the room. I don’t recommend this hotel. Card was not working. I’ve had to call them 5 times to help sorting it out. I don’t get why they don’t let know people when booking that there is no lift

Good afternoon, Many thanks for your review of the Kensington Gardens Hotel. Your feedback is much appreciated. We do state on the homepage of our website that the hotel does not have a lift. Please do speak to reception on arrival if you require assistance with your luggage or prefer a room on a lower level as we will endeavour to accommodate our guests where we have availability to do so. We are disappointed that you did not have a better experience staying with us. Kind regards, Kensington Gardens Hotel

Good service. Nice clean room on 4th floor but with no lifts this could prove difficult for a many. The staff at the Phoenix where you book in were excellent. The hotel doesn’t have its own reception but a buzzer at the door let’s you in and out without problem.

My stay was linked to a trip to see the London. Marathon. The check- in was via the twin hotel next door - The Phoenix. Pleasant staff. Entry was via a buzzer system. My room, number 15 was at the top of the first flight of stairs, single room. Was actually surprised to find how small the room was, although it was very clean. The TV had a. poor reception so was unable to watch it. The view was very uninspiring. Negatives -- TV poor.reception, there were areas that needed a touch up of part in one area paper looks as if it was scratched off the wall. Just below the bathroom sink was a very untidy silicone seal , it was annoying because I could hear people coming in and out all hours of the day as my room was close to the entrance.. There were very small faults and could easily be fixed. Positives - spare heater, fan and hairdryer, toiletries and coffee and tea fasciitis’s. Clean towels daily. good location to Bayswater tube station.

All time favourite hotel in London. I’ve been visiting this hotel over 5 years. These are the reasons: - Central location - 10mins from Paddington Station - Parking available in front of the hotel at the street markings but need to pay through ring go app. Tips: if your checkin is at 3pm, you can park for 4hours which is automatically you don’t pay from 6.30pm on weekdays. Weekends, Saturdays you can park from 1.30pm until Monday 8.30am* for free. But make sure you don’t park on residential marking points. Controlled by the council. - Apart from above, it’s very convenient. 5 mins away to the Queensway station (Central Line) & 3 mins to Bayswater Station Central line. If you are on Business or leisure, best location. As it’s surrounded by good hotels. And if you love walking hon can walk up to Oxford street through Hyde park garden. Relaxing. - Hotel breakfast is very standard but available more option at a cost. But must say, breakfast must have some few more options. Expect to be very basic. - Rooms are clean and good. Yes, no AC but keeping the windows open and provided with fans may help you to cool you down in the night. However, they have refurbished the rooms and have a better look from what it was. As I’ve stayed during their old interior times. Staff are very friendly. Especially the front of house team at the desk. They never disappoint me when ever I want to book a room.

This hotel was very conveniently situated close to regular bus service as well as Bayswater & Queensgate Tube stations. It was a 5 minute walk to Kensington Park & St. James Palace. Lots of restaurants & supermarkets are in the area too. The room configuration was good, giving our grandson a seperate area. No a/c. No in room safe. The taxi service used by the hotel was unreliable. After they didn't turn up the reception reluctantly called to investigate. After finding that they weren't coming they called a Black Cab that also couldn't come. The staff were quite clueless how to deal with the situation Luckily a guest called me an Uber. Breakfast was very disappointing. Other than boiled eggs, hot dishes were for charge. I would probably not stay there again because of the poor selection offered.

We booked two side-by-side rooms to accommodate a family trip to London. Kensington Gardens Hotel was great - super receptive to helping us with an early check-in (even though it couldn't be achieved, they really did try); a nice, comfy room that was quiet enough for us all to sleep soundly through the night. This hotel is close to the Glouchester tube station and several grocery stores. Staff was always friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay.

This hotel is really very terrible, no professionalism and the price doesn't match with the quality of the services, I really did not recommend it. Also it's not clean. The toilet doesn't work properly and there is a noises due to the train station closer.

I was not expecting it to be this good, this will be my home on London trips now on. Really well located - the hotel it self is in a quiet area with a garden in front but less than ten minutes walk to Notting hill, the queens way tube is 5 mins away leaving the whole of London with in 20 mins. The rooms have everything you need , they are clean , warm and comfy. Mine had a view out across the garden. The staff have been wonderful too, the star rating does not do this place justice. I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone or couple coming into London for the weekend. Excellent
