Detailed Reviews
We loved our stay at this hotel very clean and friendly staff. Rooms are very cosy and warm, with tea/coffee making facilities which is a really nice touch. Quiet location Good selection of breakfast which is served next door at the phoenix hotel, however there is no connecting corridor to the hotel so you have to walk outside to get in, which can be a downside if the weather is bad. Excellent location for tubes and buses a short distance away. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from so you won’t be stuck for choice. Excellent hotel and would definitely stay here again Thank you

What a lovely little hotel. Situated in a quiet little area with a lovely view over gardens. Spotlessly clean, comfortable beds tea and coffee making facilities. Cooked breakfast was only £7.00 and was cooked perfectly. Close to lots of nice cafes and restaurants and tube station is just around the corner. Staff in reception were lovely and helpful. Very reasonably priced for such a lovely hotel we would not hesitate to book here again or recommend to others.

I am very satisfied with my stay. The staff at the reception was always very nice, the room was cozy and I really liked the electric kettle with various tea bags, coffee, chocolate. Breakfast at the Phoenix hotel was very good and the price reasonable. The bed was comfortable and the Hotel was clean in all environments. Very quiet. The building, very nice, was in a quiet and very nice area of the city, close to two metro stops. I recommend it

This hotel was very conveniently situated close to regular bus service as well as Bayswater & Queensgate Tube stations. It was a 5 minute walk to Kensington Park & St. James Palace. Lots of restaurants & supermarkets are in the area too.
The room configuration was good, giving our grandson a seperate area. No a/c.
No in room safe. The taxi service used by the hotel was unreliable. After they didn't turn up the reception reluctantly called to investigate. After finding that they weren't coming they called a Black Cab that also couldn't come. The staff were quite clueless how to deal with the situation
Luckily a guest called me an Uber.
Breakfast was very disappointing. Other than boiled eggs, hot dishes were for charge. I would probably not stay there again because of the poor selection offered.

It was quite alright, though the room was very small. With little improvements the stay would've been easily made nicer though: I understand the bathroom of the single room is quite small, but a hook or two and a small shelf to put thing down on near the sink would've made it a lot more practival. I had to run in and out of the bathroom to get things and bring them back, because there was no place to depose of them in the bathroom!
Also, a hook or two for the overcoat at the entrance would've also been a good practical thing.
At departure I left my luggage at the reception and would've felt better if I had got a receipt for it. All was good in the end, but it left an uneasy feeling.
Overall though, a good stay and location.

This hotel is really very terrible, no professionalism and the price doesn't match with the quality of the services, I really did not recommend it. Also it's not clean. The toilet doesn't work properly and there is a noises due to the train station closer.

Super location, well-connected with the Tube, and with several type of shops, yet, the area is very quiet, with a view of the gardens from the window. Clean linen and towels. Will definitely return and choose the same accommodation when back in London!

A nice hotel with basic but very clean rooms. Check in was easy and staff were helpful. Very close to both Bayswater and Queensway tubes so it is a great base for getting around central London, while still being in a pretty quiet area. My only complaint is that my window did not close securely, so it rattled every time there was a gust of wind. I was woken up multiple times during the night because of this which was really frustrating.

Compared to a lot of the other hotels in this area and around London of a similar price range, Kensington Gardens has a more upmarket feel. Spotless and well appointed, I very much enjoyed my stay. The location is also fantastic. Hyde Park is within walking distance as is the brilliant Notting Hill area, and Bayswater and Queensway underground are within 10 minutes walking distance.
The only small complaint I would have would be the mattress being a bit too firm for my liking.
In future visits to London, business or pleasure, I'd happily stay here again. Convenient, clean and lovely surroundings.

I had booked a weekend stay in this hotel for my in-laws who were due to travel for a London trip from The Netherlands. The booking was made through Booking.com
The room was booked long before covid but now, with covid regulations, it would have meant a compulsory 14 day quarantine on arrival to the UK. This wasn't possible or practical.
I had many discussions about cancelling this reservation with Booking.com and had the impression from their website that any cancellations due to such covid regulations would be automatic and we would get a refund. Alas, because this was a "Basic" booking, this was not possible.
I contacted the reservations office in the hotel and received fantastic support and help from Mary Donelan there who got in contact with both Booking.com and a third party through whom Booking.com had made the booking (caveat emptor!).
It really was above and beyond the call of duty but Mary sorted out the problem and we received our money back.
Thanks for the great customer service. I'll be sure to book directly with you when booking again!

Sorry,
I can’t remember. Maybe view hotel/room details online.
Hi. Reception isn't open 24 hours but sister hotel Phoenix next door is and no problem dropping off or picking up keys. They have a board specifically for KHG keys so process is quick.
Just stayed there. Super-friendly reception. They are open from 8a-5p. After 5p, you have to drop off or pick up your key from the Phoenix Hotel, just a few doors down. Not an inconvenience at all.
BTW Tube is Metro or Subway in London English, Gatewick express is a direct train from the Gatwick airport to the City. You can purchise all tickets online in advance. And then just showing your QR codes.
No there are no safes, microwave etc. Breakfast is also not included but there are plenty of excellent breakfast places at a reasonable rates 2- 5 minutes walk away. Hope this helps!
