We stayed here for two nights, mainly for easy access to Oxford Street. We checked in quite late in the evening and were allocated a room on the third floor that was less than adequate. After contacting the reception, we were moved the following day to a more suitable room. We were happy with the second room. Breakfast was busy,...

The room needed some TLC, the heater fan aircon was broken so a cold room plus the room looked upon a very busy and noisy junction. No option to swap rooms as fully booked. Nightmare trying to get a lift as they were always full, without a stair option. Que for breakfast, on occasions a long que, after walking what...

The Cumberland is a big hotel! However overall a very good stay. Foyer spacious and welcoming with swift checkin. Room ready for our arrival - just after 11.00am. Room very nice although compact. Bathroom well presented but perhaps a bit worn around the whb. Lifts a bit chaotic during busy times so worth finding the fire escape stair which leads...

Stayed here at the weekend just past, 3/12/16 to celebrate my birthday. First opinion of hotel was that it is nice and modern, big lobby area and helpful staff. Got given our room located on the third floor and was very disappointed. The layout of the room was terrible with the bed facing the opposite direction to the TV. Opened...

Really recommend this hotel. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. We actually checked in at 9.30am! We enjoyed having access to the executive lounge. Afternoon tea was great and we loved having pre theatre drinks in the the lounge. Would definitely book again.

Great location! Too long queue to check inn...not a perfect way to start your holiday. The room: a bit small and strange unusefull green walls that narrow the room even more. The bathroom: average, not enough storage room/shelves for toiletries. And nothing to hang a small towel near the sink...instead, there's a heated towel rack ABOVE the toilet! WHY?!

A large yet welcoming hotel in a great location (Marble Arch) with Oxford Street just around the corner and a tube station to hand. Compact, but effective rooms which are clean and tidy. Breakfast is a little too busy in the restaurant, but that reflects the size/scale.

I must start with perhaps one of the most comical moments of any hotel stay I have had. Unfortunately it came at the Cumberland, and not all were amused. On check out time (11ish) only 1 lift out of 6 was working, and it held about 6/7 people or 4 with luggage, and it had to service hundreds of people...

This is one of the most expensive hotels we've stayed at in London and we certainly won't be going back. What you're paying for here is the location. It's right next to Marble Arch, at the top of Oxford Street, which is great if you're planning to spend your time around this area. However, it cannot cope with the number...

Staying in Marylebone

Neighbourhood Profile
Marylebone
Marylebone offers what so many London neighbourhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
