The prices can be reasonable if you catch a booking sale or book off season. The hotel is clean, safe and a great base for your exploration of London. My pre-teen daughter and I stayed here and found it comfortable and safe.

The reception staff are rude and on the verge of aggressive. The rooms are ok but mnassively over priced. There are plenty of far better options nearby. The food in the restaurant is of average quality but much better to try a local restaurant where better service and options are available.

This hotel is in a great location and managed by great staff. The rooms are of a reasonable size for London, are modern and well decorated. I would not hesitate to recommend any of the Doubletree brand especially this one in South Kensington.

Lovely hotel, with some friendly staff at check in. Room service is very slow. Its perfect for business travel, as connectivity is great. The room amenities seem a bit out of date, particularly the heating/cooling systems. They can also be quite noisy. The breakfast was below average. Very limited in choice.

My partner booked this weekend stay as a birthday surprise believing it would be special. On arrival the staff at reception were friendly and helpful, carrying our luggage up to our room. However, the room we had (No.406) was so small that we had to sit on the bed rather than on a chair each; it was also dark and...

I have been staying at The Regency/Doubletree Kensington for years. Since it has become a DoubleTree the hotel has only gotten better. Rafiq and his staff do a fantastic job of welcoming their guests. Improvements to the hotel include a new lounge/restaurant that is a vast improvement from the dark place in the basement it used to be. I always...

The room was very, very small. Only one person could move around at a time. We could have lived with that, but the noise from the cooling system was terrible. It kept us up at night. And the heating system consisted of one radiator on the wall - it was so small, and barely worked.

A lovely hotel a stones throw from Harrods and three great museums just down the road with a handy tube station thrown in for good measure. A small taxi rank just outside for those travelling further rounds off all your transport needs. Beautifully modernised, with great wifi and a lovely staff, you will be sorry when you have to leave....

The hotel was conveniently located for the Natural History Museum and Hyde Park which were the attractions we were visiting. There are plenty of restaurants and eating facilities near by. 5 minute walk from tube station. Staff wee friendly. I had booked one standard double and one triple room. On arrival we were told one of our rooms had been...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
