Oh dear where do i start, I'll do all the negatives 1st. Nothing like the pictures on the web site, made the rooms look larger than they actually are, furniture tatty and dated .According to the brochure in the room, they have updated it to a high standard!!!!!!!. We were in room 212 top of the 50 set of steps, not easy when carrying suit cases, but we did know there were no lifts, so i'll let that one go. From the main entrance you go down another set of stairs to the so called reception to get your key, which is where you find the kitchen and breakfast room. With the kitchen being below ground, if there was a fire, there is no way out, as the only route is coming down the stairs from the top floor, no other fire escape route, i think we all know smoke rises!!!. Breakfast, yes there was a choice, but i think you need to have staff that can understand english ( even though they were very nice). When ordering breakfast you had to point to what you wanted, there was only honey for your choice of preserve, you had to ask for jam. 1st breakfast was ok but the food was very luke warm, you had 2 slices of toast each. Day 2 breakfast, well my husband ordered what he wanted, the lady just walked away and assumed i wanted the same, had to shout her back so i could order. We got food on the plate we did not order, no beans, but got beans, my husband didn't order tomatoes or mushrooms as he doesn't like them, but he got them anyway, but worst of all is the food was not even luke warm, it was cold on a cold plate ,horrible. we got only 1 1/2 slices of toast, had to ask them to take it back, and re toast it, as they had only done one side!!. Moving on to the bedroom, size was fine and the bed was comfy, but the wallpaper was coming off the ceiling where they had had a leak, the bathroom was not good, black mould in the bathroom shower, screws left in the tiles where they had removed something from the tiles, easy to scratch yourself. We know they cannot do room service, but when we did phone down to reception for some milk, we had waited for more than 20 minutes, but none arrived, so my husband went down to ask for some himself( down all the stairs again). On checking out i walked down the stairs to the reception to hand the keys over the man he never spoke, no did you have a nice stay, how was the room, was everything okay, not a word, so rude. Now my 1 positive comment, great location, for British museum , 10 mins walk to Covent garden, and the theatre district. Wont be staying there again, in total £125 a night, not worth it.

Dated hotel but clean and a good location for the British Museum and 15-20 minute walk from the theatre district. Stayed for two nights, the first was fine and slept well, the second we hardly slept with doors banging all night. Our room was on the entrance level and the doors all bang shut loudly. The breakfast was cold both mornings and many of the staff didn’t understand English. This hotel has narrow stairs and no lift with the reception and breakfast in the basement so not accessible for people with limited mobility or large, heavy suitcases.

Pictures better online than in reality. Room very small and noisy. Breakfast chaotic. Very slow and people who arrived after us were served. We have waited half an hour. A senior member of staff asked if we wanted fresh air. Good location. Television is faulty and bedside light did not work. Breakfast was cold. Returned and still cold.

Awful hotel, I was working nights so didn't get to my room until the early hours only to be woken by someone 8.30am drilling and hammering the door/door frame next door to my room. Seeming as I was then awake we go down to get some breakfast, would have been better if we went to McDonald's!! Ordered a bacon sandwich and scrambled eggs...get brought a sausage sandwich and told we don't have any Bacon! I also ordered a breakfast with everything, 20 minutes later I received a plate of scrambled eggs! I eventually have had my fill of incompetent and go complain, ask for the manager. Only to be met with hostility and told I can't see the manager! Just steer clear of the place.
