This was my hotel of choice when a husband and wife team owned it a few years ago. They were delightful and it was a cute place. It was then sold to other owners and my experience there with the new owners was really less...More
If you make a reseravation, contact the Gate DIRECTLY, do not make a reservation through a service. They are awful. I received a reply back from the Gate directly and they are very pleasant and have been having trouble with Londonby.com. So remember that when...More
We stayed at The Gate Hotel in August. The location is great, right in the heart of Notting Hill and the hotel is ok for the price. We were upgraded to their largest room, which was clean enough and decently appointed. The service was very...More

As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighbourhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an
experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
What exactly IS this place? "The Gate" or "6 Portobello Rd"?? Is it a B&B, an apartment hotel, a hotel, a hostel, or what? VERY confusing. Pictures show nearly bare rooms but descriptions don't match--for example, where are the sofa beds the room descriptions mention? Not a single one appears in any photos. You have no reviews (except for The Gate, which are truly alarming). Please explain.

Actually I wrote a review on The Gate restaurant in Hammersmith and somehow a gate hotel has got the review! The restaurant is brilliant but I know nothing about the hotel! Sorry
