About
Established in the 1970’s, Mudchute Park and Farm is one of the largest city farms in Europe. With 32 acres of countryside, located a stone's throw away from the hustle and bustle of Canary Wharf, the farm is a place where you can experience rural life without leaving the city. We are proud to be one of London's only Rare Breed Survival Trust's Approved Conservation Farm Parks. The farm is home to over 100 animals, including pigs, sheep, goats, cows, ducks, geese, chickens, rabbits, and even llamas. Visitors can get up close and personal with the animals by feeding them or petting them under the supervision of the farm's expert staff. Mudchute Park and Farm is a fantastic destination for families, animal lovers, and anyone looking to escape city life and enjoy some time in nature. With its wide range of facilities and activities, there's something for everyone to enjoy at this unique urban farm.

What an experience for grandchildren, grandparents and parents! We saw pigs, sheep, goats, donkeys, different varieties of chickens, ducks etc. super friendly staff. Great children’s activities. They loved feeding the sheep! Nice coffee shop. All geared to young children. Highly recommendedHi, thank you for the lovely review and we are glad you enjoyed the Park and Farm. - IzziNewport, United Kingdom9 contributionsSerotonin BoostI have been here many times before when I lived in London, and I always loved it. It was my go to place to cheer myself up. Its changed a lot since I last visited and seems bigger! My favourite ram didn't seem to be there anymore so I was sad about that, but it still made me happy walking round and my partner couldn't believe such a place was in the middle of London (his first time in the city). We sadly couldn't see the ponies as it was closed off, and we didn't stay for food. However I got some amazing photos on my new Nikon which was one of the reasons we visited last week, and the animals didn't disappoint, you can tell they are so used to people. This place is a little piece of heaven for anyone feeling they need a serotonin boost.Thank you for your lovely review.Written 2 October 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited July 2023Written 22 July 2023

Different types of ducks, goats, sheep, chickens, donkeys and ponies. Animals look well-cared for and happy. They sell food for a pound a bag but sadly no one was available to sell us any on our visit. Others had it, though, so maybe just poor timing. It’s run by volunteers so I can’t be too hard on them. We had an excellent day at Mudchute Farm, all staff were brilliant aside from one, hence the 4 starts which is such a shame as such credit is due to this brilliant space.
There is a red head older woman (between 60's - 70's) whose behaviour and conduct I found embarrassing. She is based in the animal holding area. Our visit was a few months back now and she challenged everyone and everything.
She bullied the younger staff in the animal holding area and was challenging them over small issues in front of customers which caused much embarrassment for staff members. She was incredibly abrupt when I first arrived so much so I nearly turned round and walked away and at the end of the event when we were looking at purchasing some small gifts, she asked we don't pick up the toys and just looked.
I would like to make my feedback really clear because this impacts both staff and customers. As she's an older (grumpy) woman that's clearly got away for some time with such attitude, she'll bullying the staff and basically pissing off the customers, not the time of behaviours and attitudes I would want in my work place.
Otherwise, all other staff were so friendly and helpful. The farm is bigger than expected, lots of animals very well looked after and a brilliant day for children (if you avoid certain staff).

We saw this place featured on Joolz Guides, so popped along on a Friday in February. The kitchen is basic but very pleasant, and the breakfast was well cooked, cooked to order and absolutely lovely.
Mooched azbout a bit after, looking at the animals.
Would thoroughly recommed.

This was my first visit with my very young grandchildren and family last Sunday and it was a great experience. Plenty of animals to see including friendly lamas in addition to the usual farmyard animals and pets such as rabbits. An excellent cafe is the icing on the cake and the cakes were delicious as well as the hot drinks. So a must if you have young children as they will enjoy the extensive area to explore. The adjacent park is yet to be explored on a future visit. And to top it all it is free entry.

Is it muddy there? Just wondering the type of shoes I should wear

I don't think it was especially muddy, there were proper paths around the farm, but it has been raining quite a lot lately so probably worth wearing something that you could clean easily, or are not your best shoes.

Is it far to walk from DLR as I am diabled
Hancho
Colorado Springs, CO272 contributions
It involves a lot of walking both from the station (about 10-15 minutes) and once you get there. Everything is fairly spread out in the park, meaning that you will have to walk from point to point. However, if you choose to just visit one of the areas, you obviously won't have to walk as far. The paths are generally level.
