Oyo Belgravia Rooms was a good find. The room was small, basic and had a weird raised ensuite set-up. Lack of bathmats ment getting down from the shower to the room was a bit dangerous. Despite this the hotel is in a good location and was handy for our visit to concerts in Hyde Park. The rooms looked clean and we were happy with what we had booked for what we wanted to do in London. Our second day and evening was spent in Hyde Park and the next morning my wife was sporting some bites, we put them down to midges in the park, the next day more bite marks appeared and I had one or two. To be honest I thought that perhaps we had been bitten by fleas, so I checked the sheets and could see no signs of any. On our way home the scratching got worse and I started coming out in welts, They have been identified as bedbug bites. I have at least 100 bites over the skin area of my body not protected by bed clothes. my wife's showed up earliest, but with not as many, apparently it can take several days or even weeks for them to show up on the skin after you are bitten and I wonder how many travelers have been bitten unawares. I appreciate that there is probably very little hotels can do to prevent such infestations, I am however disappointed that that having read some previous reviews that proper action appears not to have been taken by the hotel. As I said the room appeared clean, and even if the mattress is replaced the room is not bug free. It either needs heat treatment or a deep clean or both. We were in room 3C, I would give it a miss. Had we been aware that the issue was related to our room we would have taken it up with staff at the hotel, as it is we will need to take it up with the hotel after the event. This will have been an expensive trip as we now have to do to our home what OYO should have been doing to their rooms lest we brought home living souvenirs from London in our luggage!…
We spent 1 night. Great location, clean, comfortable beds and affordable. We stayed on the ground floor so did not have to haul our luggage up the stairs but we had a shared bathroom that was 2 floors up. As I said, It was one night and we were in the room at 2am and left by 6:30am so no complains. We came from Stansted and left from Gatwick the next day. We wanted to spend an evening in London instead gf airport. That worked and Location in Victoria was perfect. It is close to everything, we walked through the main touristic sites that we already knew, then the theater district and Trafalgar square. you could also take an evening bus tour. In terms of getting there from airports, it was very easy from Stansted: we took the train to Tottenham Hale and tube to Victoria and walked 10min to hotel. The next day we went to the Victoria rail station took the train to Gatwick. We had bought the tickets ahead and it was very fast. Tube takes the contactless credit cards now so thats' great but you need one per passenger, so not as great if you have kids.. Alternatively you can take a bus from Stansted to Victoria Coach station. …
I booked this hotel in error and rather unhelpfully was refused a refund so we had to keep the reservation. It’s fair to say after reading the previous reviews I was dreading what we’d find, I was however, pleasantly surprised! And NO bed bugs in our room, phew! The room was nothing fancy but we were looking for a cheap and cheerful room to crash in after a busy day and that’s what we got. The location is great and there are a few cafes near by for breakfast and plenty of places to eat. The room has 2 sets of bunk beds and a double bed, a microwave and some plates and cutlery, a small kettle with tea & coffee making facilities a small hairdryer and a small fridge. It was scorching in London during our stay but there were 2 fans in the room on arrival. The room was very clean and tidy and one bath towel is provided per person. The hotel also store luggage for guests and for a small charge will store after checkout also. The guy on the desk was friendly and helpful & allowed us to store our pushchair in the reception luggage store area so we didn’t have to lug it up the stairs to our room, this also meant we had more space in our room. The cons are; the bathroom is very small for a family room, basically a converted cupboard! One window doesn’t open properly, a must in hot weather. The bunk beds are very tired and rickety. No hand towel in the bathroom - take one with you, not a big thing but useful. …
Please check your sheets and your mattress. My nieces were bitten in their legs and arms by bedbugs!!! The rooms are very small, but they do not control properly the presence of insects in their beds.
The hotel is in a good location. Staffs are friendly. The only thing is there is no elevator and our room was on the second floor the first night. Second floor means third floor in the states. Even with one large luggage and 2 carry-ons, it was a struggle for us. Luckily we were able to change to a ground floor room for our second night stay.…
