We booked a deal which included dinner, bed and breakfast as we thought this would be a great saving even if we didnt use during the entire stay. Check-in was great; everything was explained about our deal and we were allowed into our room a little early. We went into our room and at first look it was small but seemed ok. The airconditioning didnt work so we slept with the window open which was so noisy. The bathroom is parallel to the bed and is so small you have to open the door and close to get to the WC; this was so awkward during the night. The bathroom looks dirty and needs refreshing. The water was not very warm in the shower. The bed was so uncomfortable we couldnt sleep ; the noise just compounded this. The restaurant was diabolical; you go down to the basement and there was only one other couple in there. We chose from the menu to be then told we couldnt order from that menu as we were on ' the deal'. The meal we wanted was cheaper but we were still not allowed to order our choice. I had salmon, mash and vegetables which were dry and overcooked. My husband had pasta; his portion was so small he was hungry. Dessert was either gateaux or fruit salad. I had fruit salad which was frozen. I mentioned to a man on reception what we thougth ablut the menu and he said' you should be able to have choice if not more expensive' but nothing was actuially done. Breakfast the following morning was busier which i am surprised at te £24 price tag. I approached a waiter and asked where to sit and he didnt understand and turned his back on me. Someone else then came over to assist. We were offered one cup of tea/coffee and no refill. Food was mediocre. Didnt eat there again. We left the hotel early and got a refund.…
Excellent value for the money and wouldn't look to book any other hotel when staying in this location. It may be a bit dated compared to some of their other hotels but it has character and ticks all the boxes for me.
Food itself was good but sitting in hotel lobbey to eat it!!! Had to ask for a plate, napkins and knife to spread butter...basic things you require for eating!!! Very very disapointed....will not recommend or visit again!!!!!
I've just arrived at this hotel in London. Thankfully I will only be here one night. My room is decrepit and dirty. Words just not enough for this review; I've attached photos of: - the bath mat covered in mould - the stained and filthy carpet - worn and threadbare carpet - rusty bath soap tray - dirty net curtain I met with the manager immediately. He explained that parts of the hotel are being renovated. Having worked in the industry I told him that was not an excuse for the state of the room. He offered me a room change - only marginally better on a quick inspection. Don't stay here. It's a disgrace.…
Excellent breakfasts. Odd room in the basement. Decor is a little outdated and my window looked out on an alley (literally). As we were there during a summer heatwave in London, I slept with my window open and, as it was a ground floor room, someone could have crawled in (although they probably would have crawled right back out after entering and seeing the room). Staff were attentive.…
