This property has to be 10 years old, but it is modern and in very good condition. Everything is clean. Staff are very pleasant. Very well located in a square just opposite from Liverpool Street Station. It has a small cafeteria - again very clean and well organised - for dinner and excellent help yourself full breakfasts (recommended). Only one...

The hotel is located very close to the gherkin building in The City of London. If you're staying for work in the area this makes it a good choice, but it's also fairly close to the action if you're staying as a tourist. Everything was standard travelodge. Good bed, room small-ish but had everything you need. You get limited free...

I stayed here in March as I was going to a concert at the O2. The hotel itself was a superb location for a few of the Shoreditch pubs and bars as it was just a 10 minute walk away. The staff were extra friendly and the bar was open till very late which was a pleasant surprise. The room...

This was an ideal place to stay for a weekend theatre break. It is a short walk from the underground and tourist attractions such as The Tower of London were within easy walking distance. The rooms were clean and comfortable. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was lovely and set us up for a day sightseeing.

Me and my partner stayed here for two nights 24th - 26th March. The Travelodge was in a great location close to the tube stations and a short walk from tower bridge. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The room we stayed in was clean and fresh . We used the bar and unlimited breakfast buffet which was excellent. Nicolas...

We stayed here for two nights. It's in a great location. Price was ok. £157 for two nights - room only - 416. Two issues. The shower in the morning on the first day was so hot we couldn't stand under it. Had to have a wash at the basin. I told the girl on reception and the next day...

5 minute walk to Liverpool street station once you get your bearings. Come out of the station Via the Bishopsgate entrance. Cross the road and go down the alley in front of you. Pass the pub on the left and go through the archway. Pass through the covered eating area and turn right. You are now facing the Gherkin. Now...

Perfect location for a London city break, walking distance to many attractions and 2 stops from the huge Westfield shopping centre in Stratford. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend, clean and comfortable stay.

Overall a lovely stay. Room spacious for a family of four. Comfy beds, kids and husband slept well. I'm a light sleeper and as I found on google maps the underground runs right underneath the hotel, I did keep hearing the rattling of the trains going from Liverpool Street and Aldgate! The staff are really friendly and helpful. If you...

The hotel was very good value for money. Staff were very helpful. Only one issue the toilet was dirty on arrival. When I spoke to a cleaner he immediately came and cleaned it and was very apologetic. No other issues. Breakfast was very good.

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
