Threadneedles, Autograph Collection is lauded for its exceptional service, with guests consistently commending the staff's attentiveness and warmth. The hotel's value is recognized for its reasonable rates paired with quality service, although a few guests encountered unexpected additional charges. The rooms offer comfortable beds and tranquility, but some guests suggest they could benefit from more natural light and a refresh.
While the atmosphere is generally described as cozy, opinions diverge on the vibrancy of the public spaces. Its strategic location near key transport links makes it a convenient choice for exploring London, and cleanliness is a strong suit, with many visitors impressed by the hotel's tidy and well-maintained environment. However, the breakfast offering is sometimes viewed as overpriced, and the lack of natural light in some rooms has been noted as an area for improvement.

Slap bang in the middle of the financial district, this makes a perfect hotel for couples at the weekend who want something a little quieter. There is literally nothing I can say in criticism of the hotel. You are greeted by a beautiful open foyer and the staff are welcoming and polite, and we were even given a glass of prosecco while we checked in. The deputy manager, Maria, needs a particular shout-out as I don't think I have ever come across someone more welcoming and accommodating. The rooms are a lovely size, beds are comfortable, and there was a Nespresso machine, which is always a boon! Plug sockets and USB ports are easily accessible and plentiful without having to get on your hands and knees to search for one (although it would have been nice to have one by the bedside) The breakfast - made fresh to order rather than a buffet - is possibly the best hotel breakfast we've had.
We would return in a heartbeat.

We’ve just returned from a wonderful stay at this hotel. Reception was a bit cold and not very friendly however the building itself makes up for it. The dome is spectacular.
Our little suite was very comfortable. And well stocked with complementary water and tea making facilities. There was also a minibar. I think housekeeping did a fine job of our turn down service and I really appreciated the lavender spray and the lovely classical music they left on. I relaxed as soon as I walked back into the room from watching a theatre show.
My only niggle is that I wish they had an executive lounge as I’m a very early riser and would have liked to remove myself from the bedroom so that I’m not disturbing my other half. There is some seating area in reception but it’s not adequate.
That said I really liked this hotel. The breakfast was very good and I was happy to get a compliant meal that was not greasy. The team were very helpful and served with huge smiles

I have just returned from a 2-night stay at Threadneedles with my fiancée. We stayed over a weekend (Friday - Sunday) so got a good rate as this is principally designed to be a business hotel and is therefore much quieter at the weekend. For the same reason, most shops and restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel do not open on Saturday or Sunday.
On arrival we were warmly welcomed and given a complimentary upgrade. Our room was spacious (particularly for a London hotel!) with a large comfortable bed and effective air conditioning for which we were very grateful during a heatwave. The mini bar contained some soft drinks which were complimentary and bottled water was supplied each day. There was also a turn down service each night and Elemis cosmetics were left on our pillows.
The hotel is well located in the heart of the financial district, a short walk from Bank underground station. Monument and Cannon Street stations are also close by or if you prefer to avoid the underground there is a bus stop right outside the hotel.
Our rate included continental breakfast which consisted of fruit, yogurt, some meats and cheeses, bread and pastries. Fruit juices, water, plus tea and coffee were also complimentary.
The staff were all really friendly and the hotel is well presented. The only improvements from my perspective would be the addition of leisure facilities, i.e. a swimming pool and spa but for a short break you’d be unlikely to find the time to use these anyway when there is so much to do in London.
All in all we had a great stay and would definitely consider a return visit.

I was looking forward to staying here, but this was most certainly not a five star property. I typically stay at the Andaz or Edition and, while those don’t claim to be five star hotels, they are significantly better than Threadneedles. When I arrived, I was checked in quickly and told that, as a Marriott Platinum member, I had been given an upgraded room, which was a nice start. However, the room itself was dingy, tired and used. If this the quality of all of their rooms, the hotel is greatly in need of refurbishment.
To begin, the bathroom looked quite old, was caulked over many times and had cracking and large water stains all over the ceiling (see photos). The small “rainfall” shows head was dirty and, combined with the low ceilings, made it seem like I was showering in a coffin.
The room itself was tired looking. The carpet was dingy, the nightstands and lamps scratched up and looking like they may have tried to be refurbished.
The thermostat isn’t actually a thermostat. It has two knobs for hi/med/low and a dial for temperature that doesn’t actually indicate the temperature. It didn’t matter, however, since neither of them had any effect on the temperature. The fan blew non-stop in the room for all 4 days I was there and the temperature was haphazard. It got so warm that I needed to open windows. I notified the front desk on my way out one day, but it didn’t seem like anything was ever done about it. To make it worse, the two center windows were bolted shut, so I was required to open the curtains almost fully to access other windows - this was fairly uncomfortable given that there is a busy office floor only about 10 meters away.
Other that that, the room is sparsely/randomly furnished and has a small TV the size of my computer monitor in the office, which was jammed in the corner. I understand the hotel’s building is historic, but this room was very much stuck in the early 2000s.

We stayed at Threadneedles last night, a Saturday night as a birthday trip to the capital for my young sons birthday. From the moment we arrived we were so well looked after! Our room was ready even though it was before check in time and I was offered prosecco on arrival (always a sign of a fabulous hotel!)
The flower arrangements and the incredible dome celling were so beautiful.
Our room was on the 4th floor and was perfect for the 2 of us, the bed was so comfortable with high quality pillows and sheets - I never sleep well away from home but for the first time ever I slept most of the night!
We had a complimentary mini bar in the room and we asked if the hotel could swap the full fat cokes and sprites out for diet cokes which they did, they also decorated our room with balloons, and left puzzle books and a fresh fruit platter to say happy birthday to my son. The bathroom was large with a big bath, Elemis products and a separate shower. The hotel is conveniently located moments from bank station (which is now open) and only a 5 minute walk from monument.
We ordered deliveroo in the evening (our first experience of using a delivery service) and it was brought to our room by the kind hotel staff. Breakfast was fabulous, freshly made eggs royale, soft sumptuous croissants and much to my sons delight Nutella! There was such a feast for the eyes, fresh berries, fruits, salmon, breads, pastries, just amazing!
We wouldn’t hesitate to go back. We travel a lot, always 5 star, the service here was exceptional.
We usually stay at the resident hotels and this made a delightful change. We felt so well looked after. Thank you to all the incredible staff who made our trip so special.

We have recently returned from a night away in London and a stay at The Threadneedles.
We arrived and it was extremely noisy due to the road being dug up outside for utility works, this couldn't be helped and not the hotels fault however it would have been nice to have been pre warned before our stay.
On arrival the reception staff were friendly, however for a 5* property I would expect a concierge or doorman. Check in was at 14.00 and we arrived at approx. 14.15. Our room was not ready which was annoying as we needed to change and get out. We were offered a complimentary drink while we waited, which was a nice touch, however, we would of rather been able to get straight into the room. The room eventually became ready at 14.50 after chasing it up.
The room itself was a nice size and had 'luxury' amenities such as Nespresso Coffee Machine and Elemis toiletries. The decor of the room was a little tired and some of the wood was marked and scratched. Also the room was dusty particularly the bedside tables and the ledge above the headboard.
Breakfast was served in the restaurant, again the staff were friendly. Breakfast was included in our room rate, however, if it wasn't I wouldn't have said it was worth £30! There was a nice selection of meats, cheeses, bread, pastries and fruit. There was also a choice of a Traditional Full English, Eggs Royale and Avocado on Toast. We had a Full English and Eggs Royale. We had to wait quite a while and the order had to be chased. Once it arrived it was tasty.
All in all, we had a 'nice' stay at this hotel but not an amazing stay. We booked this hotel on a special deal at £249 including breakfast which I would say was a fair price for the stay we had, however, when you think you are staying at a 5* hotel for that price, the special deal doesn't seem as 'special'.

We stayed in a executive king on the second floor. We had asked for a quiet room away from street noise, which we got. Unfortunately, the room was very dark. Since our windows looked onto other people's windows, we didn't open them very often due to privacy concerns, so I guess that was our choice. It would have been nice, however, to have a few more lamps in the room. The breakfast was very good. We were able to choose things off the menu, rather than order the more expensive full or continental breakfasts, so we were satisfied. The breakfast room staff were all extremely helpful and friendly and the desk staff were as well. The wifi was very sporadic in our room, so that was sometimes an issue. The location was quiet and relatively free of the crowds of tourists that were in London while we were there, which was nice. We were able to walk to most of the sites we wanted to see, although the hotel is conveniently located near public transit, which other people would find useful. There wasn't any lunch or dinner served in the hotel when we were there, but we found several places to eat within a 15-20 minute walk. Overall, we thought it was a nice quiet place to stay in a very noisy city, and we would probably stay there again if in the area.

Traditionally styled hotel with some nice quirks. We stayed over the weekend and got a great rate on a basic room and used our Marriott Suite upgrades and were given a deluxe suite. Like others say, there is little natural light and the rooms are furnished in dark colours but we liked it and it felt cosy and snug. The deluxe suite was more comparable in terms of size to an average hotel's junior suite. Breakfast was rather disappointing, toast was sliced hovis, the pastries and muffins were rather tasteless and smoked salmon was advertised as part of the continental but we didn't say any on the buffet on either days we dined. The fruit selection was however very good, but I wouldn't be happy paying £25pp for the continental breakfast if it wasn't included. What sets this hotel apart however is the standard of service from the staff, this was excellent. In particular James on the door was helpful, friendly and went above and beyond for guests. Location is great for access to transport links, in under 5 minutes walk you are at Bank and a few minutes longer gets you to Liverpool Street for access to Heathrow on the Elizabeth Line. We will certainly return.

The hotel is only one block away from Bank station and within walking distance from Monument and Liverpool Street Stations. The service is 5 stars, the room is very nice, cleaned twice a day. Tea, coffee, biscuits, bottle water were refilled twice a day. It's nice to go back to this quiet hotel to sleep after a madness day in tourist areas. Highly recommended.

I am a frequent traveler and a Marriott Titanium Elite member, so I base my hotel reviews on both the brand's standards and my personal experiences.
The Threadneedles Autograph Collection hotel is situated in the heart of old London City. This charming historic building features a beautiful lobby and a quiet, commercial-business surrounding area.
I stayed for three days over a weekend. Given the commercial nature of the area, the hotel and the neighborhood was not very busy, which contributed to a peaceful stay. I arrived after a long day of travel and was warmly greeted by the front desk staff, who recognized my Titanium status and provided thorough information about the hotel. I had used nightly upgrade awards to secure a suite.
A note for future guests: The hotel is just a short walk from Liverpool Street Station, making it easy to reach from Heathrow via the Elizabeth Line. However, my Apple Maps initially placed the hotel on the wrong side of the street, leading to a bit of confusion.
My suite was well-appointed, featuring a small living area, a separate bedroom, and a nicely designed bathroom with both a shower and a bath. The room was equipped with all the amenities you’d expect from a high-end hotel.
As a Titanium member, breakfast was complimentary. For a small additional fee, I could order a hot breakfast, such as a full English breakfast, or enjoy the continental buffet for free. Over my three-day stay, I sampled both options. One day I opted for the full English breakfast, which was excellent, while on the other two mornings, I enjoyed the diverse and well-stocked buffet (note: the buffet did not include hot items).
The staff throughout my stay were exceptionally friendly and helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Threadneedles Autograph Collection and look forward to the opportunity to stay here again.
