City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.

The City location means it is very quiet at the weekends and pubs and restaurants are closed. But it is a good location, close to the underground, good value compared to other hotels on offer, comfortable room, had all the necessary amenities but bathroom was basic. Sink was

Drains in bathroom stank. Inconsistent water pressure in shower. Inconsiderate neighboring businesses throwing glass bottles into metal trolley bins at unnecessary hours. nearly passed out when entering room due to heater on full tilt!

The room needs at least a small furniture for clothes as it has a just a few hangers only and no drawers to place other garments like t-shirts, and underware; we experienced noises from outside particularly when people from restaurants nearby dumped glass bottles a few times at

Selected for its walking distance between The Tower and along South Bank to the London Eye, the hotel was also ideally located for the train stop into London. From across the road into the entrance to Canon St station you can travel easily around the sights. Just off the main

There are about 6 steps up to the lobby at the entrance, with a wheelchair lift. This area is not covered over so it would be awkward in rain or snow. I am guessing that you could access all rooms via the lift (which does not require your key pass to operate it). But I would advise a room on the ground floor in case of a fire. I think that it would be best to phone the company on 0371 984 6485 to discuss this.

Is there a hairdryer in the room and any toiletries
Wife borrowed a hairdryer from reception on checkin no problems. Best to take a small pot of shower gel and shampoo as in room may not be to your liking although I used and was ok
