Travelodge London Central Elephant and Castle is frequently celebrated for its central location, with guests appreciating the proximity to transportation and attractions, although the vibrant nightlife does contribute to some noise disturbances. The service at this hotel garners positive comments, with staff being recognized for their attentiveness. While the rooms are generally found to be clean and comfortable, offering good value, a few guests have highlighted inconsistencies with cleanliness and temperature control. Amenities like comfortable beds are well-liked, but charges for WiFi and variable cleaning services are noted drawbacks.

Great hotel situated conveniently close to Elephant & Castle Underground station (On the Bakerloo & Northern Line) and train station. Very close to Imperial War Museum and a lot of surrounding bars and restaurants. Stayed here for one night after an evening at Ministry of Sound nightclub which is a 2 minute walk away. Staff were friendly and the room was spacious and clean. Very well priced considering its location and typical hotel weekend prices in London. Room amenities include tea making facilities, towels, body wash, soap dispensers and bed side charging points. Bed was very comfy as were the pillows. Didn't try the breakfast or bar but they were downstairs in reception and well used/received by other guests. I didn't need it but the WiFi was £3 per 24 hours to use unlimitedly (or 30 minutes free per 24 hours). Overall I great nights sleep and would happily stay again!

We enjoyed a lovely family 3 night trip to London which was made all the better for the wonderful staff at this Travelodge. The rooms are new and fresh, the self service breakfasts a great way to set you up for the day and the hotel is set in a good location as it is close to the local tube station that can get you into the heart of London within minutes. The only downside was that one of the 2 lifts was out of service so there was a long wait for the lift to eventually get up to the 9th floor. The view from this floor did make up for this inconvenience and we would certainly return.

We booked in this Travelodge for 3 nights, they give us one of the rooms at 11 floor, with a beautiful view on the town.
The zone where is allocated is served by the public transport, bus and tube.
We brought standard room, there was all the comfort needed (there was also a desk) and it was bigger than other standard room that we saw in London. There are hair dryer and iron, available at reception.
When we booked, we already paied for breakfast, that is self-service and unlimited, good ratio quality/price.
If we can recommend, it can be useful find toilet brush or shower for toilet, we would have liked, also with extra pay, to find little fridge with soft drinks in the room, so at this time, if you need it you can bring from outside or at machine that is at entrance.
The staff was nice, a special thanks to Taly, that was very helpful and nice to us.
We will come back of sure.

Paid extra for early checking only to find that it wasn’t ready 2hrs later, so we were kept waiting to get into our super room and therefore missed a reservation we had which was the reason we booked early check in. Staff were unhelpful and asked me to go online to contact customer services if I wanted to request a refund for the early check in charge.

As for the hotel itself, the smell of fresh paint and modern design confirms just how brand new it is. Our room (once in) was clean, spacious and being a Superroom had added extras like a coffee machine, hairdryer & ironing board with Iron. The room had built in air-con but sadly being on floor 2 only had a view of some skips and brickwork. Such a shame as it pretty much had panoramic windows.

This hotel has a cafe/bar and is situated just metres from the Elephant & Castle tube station so excellent location…just requires better customer service and rooms ready on time!!

I arrived late due to driving down because of the train strike! Upon arrival I was greeted by security guards lounging around on the sofas and two members of staff behind the counter. After check in I proceeded to my room which at face value so late at night seemed ok, was the cooler side of cool due to AC being on but that was ok. The 1st thing I noticed was dirty cups! They clearly hadn’t been cleaned.. then I noticed a very full bin!! Other peoples rubbish! I went Over to the bed to check, that had been changed but had some stains on.. (blood)? Not sure! The bathroom was a little grim.. dirty taps.. water stains and an odd smell. I was at this point after an 8 hr drive and it being almost 2am not walking down to complain for the worry of a longer wait.. the next morning I woke to better light and found a lot more grimness! The amount of dust was unacceptable! The fact the previous occupier’s had written HELLO in it tells me this!! The towels were soiled in some “brown stains” also a large hole on the smaller towel with a large burn mark.. the fact I was paying £350 for 2 nights single occupancy! This is unacceptable.. breakfast was nothing special… low grade produce, over cooked and lukewarm.. the juice seems very watered down.. and the seating arrangement very tight.. uncomfortable to move around.
At £9.95 a breakfast I definitely wouldn’t pay that again!!
Included in the room rate I guess most would enjoy.
After airing my grievance's to a member of staff who was lovely! It really just fell on deaf ears.. she didn’t seem at all shocked… no mention of how it will be rectified…
I understand Travelodge is a basic hotel that doesn’t excuse dirty accommodation! And at the prices charged I expected far more. We have barley come out of a global pandemic every room should be clean and fit for purpose. Otherwise germs spread! Cause illness and infection. It’s very basic hotel standards that need to be met above all. The reception area was exceptional but that’s clearly a ploy to attract guests.
No good having a clean front of house if your rooms aren’t clean!
While I sat at reception on check out I noticed the 3 different cleaners I had seen all took time to come down and help them selfs to coffees and juice which is fine, however given the cleanliness of my room I doubt they should be awarding them selfs with regular breaks.. maybe clean the rooms properly then the free coffee would taste much better!

All in all it was a very basic stay.. one I wouldn’t recommend! And I won’t be repeating. There are other budget hotels at cheaper prices with far better cleanliness standards around.

As a budget stay this is a fantastic option. Only 10 mins further than the Waterloo Hotel but considerably cheaper, it was calm and pleasant stay. The rooms seemed newer than many Travelodge so there were features like plug sockets next to the bed that you really appreciate! And a very comfortable bed. Location is cracking and right opposite a fantastic late night food market making it a useful option for a flying business visit.
Don't bother ordering the breakfast, but other than that I'm happy I found this site.

The breakfast was terrible. The room and bathroom were very clean and the bed was very comfortable, although my room was very close to the train rails and noise from the outside could be heard from time to time. Additionally, I had to pay for a late check-out just because they did not have any room for me to leave my baggage for just 3 hours (I did not mind leaving my room by noon as required).

Pleasantly surprised when arriving at hotel. Felt new and modern and was well presented and looked after. Liked that you needed a key to get past reception to all of the rooms which felt very secure. Front desk was very welcoming and friendly. Had a room on the 11th floor which was lovely, very quiet from within the hotel as no guests passed our room. Balcony door was locked for our own safety which was a shame but had a great view of London, especially the Shard from our wall to ceiling windows. Be aware you don’t get WiFi in the room and it’s an additional £3 per 24 hours if you need it. Only negative is the loud music from the pub/club across the road which was thumping until around midnight when it was turned down slightly until 0430 when is went quiet. Didn’t bother us but it may others. Paid for unlimited breakfast which was actually delicious considering it was buffet style. Was constantly replenished so didn’t run out of anything, can especially recommend the pancakes with fruit coulee which were yummy. Overall very happy with our stay,

We stayed at this new Travelodge on it’s inaugural weekend so we expected a few hitches. However, we were very wrong. The hotel was immaculate - we booked 2 rooms, one for my wife and I and one for our 3 grownup children. The rooms were clean and spacious and our 10th floor room offered excellent views. Breakfast was buffet style which meant we could fill up before venturing out for the day. The reception staff were extremely helpful and friendly, especially Tally who tended to us throughout our 3 night day.
The location is excellent - just a 5 minute walk from the tube station and within a 20-30 walk of the London Eye, London Bridge and the Tower of London. Just opposite is the trendy Mercato Metropolitan offering street food of every kind and lots of bars to enjoy a drink at the end of a long day. We will definitely be returning.

I felt safe around the hotel but I didnt feel safe when I took my teenagers out in the evening around 9pm to kaspers which was about 10/15min walk as we were stopped by a lady who was with other people who circled us and told me I needed to buy her a specific drink from kaspers. When I said I couldn’t but I could offer her the change I had to go elsewhere to get a drink she got angry and kept demanding the drink from kaspers. I felt very threatened my she come close to my face and kept demanding. But I grabbed the kids hands and ran. This could have been me worrying too much but I really was scared. But if you don’t go out too late at night or just stay around the hotel then no I wouldn’t have felt it was unsafe. I know this can happen anywhere in the world and it wouldn’t put me off staying at this hotel.
