Located on the north end of Shepherd’s Bush green, in the beating heart of an eclectic and diverse neighbourhood, The Hoxton hotel has 237 playfully-designed bedrooms and an all-day restaurant - Chet’s serving Thai-American comfort food with menu from Kris Yenbamroong of LA hotspot NIGHT + MARKET. Featuring a large open lobby with vintage seating, cosy corners & free wifi, perfect for a coffee and serving an all-day menu of Hox Classics, as well as a central wraparound bar and terrace where guests can enjoy cocktails, a standalone retail store and The Apartment – a private meeting and events space. Perfectly located for exploring west London, with iconic destinations like Shepherd’s Bush Market, Bush Hall and Shepherd’s Bush Empire on its doorstep; well located for shopping with much-loved hotspots like Portobello Market and Notting Hill in easy walking distance; and leafy Chiswick, Hyde Park and Richmond a short bus ride away, providing plenty to see and do for out-of-towners. Well served with transport links both into and out of town, with three tube stations within a 5 minute walk and excellent connections to Heathrow Airport. The Hoxton Shepherd’s Bush has six categories of rooms – all warm and welcoming, with peachy toned walls, dark timbers and copper finishes, and statement details like wavy headboards, scallop-edged mirrors, terrazzo tables and geometric flatweave rugs to suit any kind of stay.

Excellent shower room, with choice of shower heads. Comfortable Queen bed; adjustable heating; complementary milk, tea, coffee and bottle opener, and a fridge for one's purchases. But bedroom space was minimal (perhaps because of its central location) for a 4 night stay (little hanging space but no room for an open suitcase). A larger room we were offered had similar problems. On the plus side, housekeeping is only available on request, so there was no need to close the suitcase each morning before leaving. Staff were very friendly, helpful and safety conscious. The in-house Thai Restaurant, Chet's, is a useful, lively facility. Unused to Thai food, we were advised by Annabel as to which dishes were not too spicy. We enjoyed her recommendations, including the delicious coconut rice and mango dessert.

What can I say about this hotel.

I recognise that It is a relatively new hotel and as such teething problems are to be expected.

However, the staff were exemplary and couldn’t do enough to make our stay here a warm and welcoming one. We extended our original booking from two days to 7 days, most gladly, and felt at home for every day that we stayed there.

The room is clean, bathroom, clean, linens of really good quality and rooms reasonably sized given London rooms are typically on the smaller side. Our room was overlooking the park across the road, which was lovely to wake up to.

Literally down the road from Westfield and Sheppards bush underground The hotel is well located and easily accessible.

The restaurant on site has a reasonable menu and quality food on offer.

Overall, this is one hotel, which I would gladly recommend to anyone looking for cool vibes, comfortable accommodation and exceptional customer service

This brand new hotel is beautiful and situated in a great easy accessible area of London. The rooms are quite small but have everything you need and look beautiful. The restaurant (Chet’s) and bar area were the highlight of our stay. The restaurant is quite affordable for London and the food is amazing (both breakfast and dinner). I would recommend visiting the restaurant also when not staying at the hotel.

However, I think the service of the hotel could definitely improve. They don’t have a standard daily room cleaning service. This is fine and understandable from a sustainability and of course mostly cost saving perspective (more hotels do this these days). If you need anything or want the room cleaned, you can just ask at the front desk. We didn’t need our room cleaned, but did request new towels on the 2nd day. When arriving back, we only found 1 small and 1 big towel on the bed and they didn’t even take the dirty ones. So on the 3rd day, we specifically requested 2 big towels and asked if they could also take the dirty ones (very strange that’s not standard when bringing new ones). When arriving back, we received 1 big towel and 2 small ones and the dirty towels from the 2 days before were still on the bathroom floor. Considering the price per night in this hotel, this is just really bad service and not up to standard.

First time staying in a Hoxton, we chose this one for its proximity to Potobello Road and Nottinghill.
I liked not being disturbed by housekeeping just for the sake of getting a bed made or towels changed, we managed this part well and the staff had already informed of this... if you need/want anything, just ask and it will happen.
Rooms are modern and comfortable with good soundproofing even though we were above the main road we were not disturbed by traffic noise.

Brand new hotel with fantatsic new rooms and exceptional bathrooms. Very modern approach with a mission on going green so only requesting a room clean when needed and the free water is in recycleable bottles. the restaurant food is great just unbelievably slow service. Breakfast on both days took more than 40 minutes

It was amazing to read that you really appreciated our sustainability efforts, we have taken this one step further by introducing "the good stay" which you can read more about on our website - we are sure you will appreciate. We are gutted to read about how poor you experience was at Chet's, we would like to apologise for how long you waited and hope that if we ever welcome you again this will not be the case. My stay at the Hoxton Shepherd's Bush Hotel in London was a mixed bag. The hotel's friendly receptionist and clean bathroom were highlights, but the room was underwhelming, the breakfast bag never arrived, and an unexpected fire alarm incident soured the experience.

Accommodation

Upon arrival, the hotel's welcoming receptionist set a very positive tone. The room, however, left me feeling un-wowed. It resembled a standard Travelodge accommodation, lacking the stylish charm I'd anticipated. The minibar stocked only milk and water, while tea and decaf coffee were provided in the room. The bathroom, however, was a redeeming feature, offering a choice of shower types and a clean, well-maintained space. The TV worked, The pointless Roberts DAB radio looked good, a poor signal prevented me from listening to any station. This is typical of most DAB areas. You are also expected to make tea or coffee with your clothes hanging above.

Service

Despite the initial warmth of the reception, the morning staff's indifferent attitude to my breakfast bag's non-delivery was disappointing. The incident was compounded by a bizarre occurrence where my deodorant's aerosol triggered a local fire alarm, disrupting the hotel's quiet morning routine. The lack of empathy or concern from the morning staff further eroded my positive impression of the hotel's service. So I checked out early and purchased my breakfast from a Amazon Fresh store.

Overall

The Hoxton Shepherd's Bush Hotel's friendly receptionist and clean bathroom were positive aspects. However, the underwhelming room, missed breakfast, and frustrating fire alarm incident left me feeling disappointed overall. While the hotel may appeal to those seeking a basic and affordable option, the lack of attention to detail and the indifferent service left a sour taste in my mouth.

There is a nice little shop called Plastic Freedom attached to the hotel.

The Lobby area you need to pass through is busy as this is where a bar and eatery is located.

It was nice to have the mall nearby, but the Shepards Bush main square area looks very run down and sketchy. We found ourselves either walking straight to the mall or the Central line station. The Shepards Bush Market station could use some help as well as it looks dirty and run down. The neighborhood drastically needs cleaned up and beautified. The Hoxton should use its influence to lead in a beautifying of the main square. The hotel is nice itself, with good service. The rooms are quite small even though we books the largest room we felt cramped. The area would make my decision to stay elsewhere.

The staff at the hotel were very accommodating and helpful. This review is about the rooms not the staff. This hotel does not have any twin bedrooms so it seems they only cater for couples. Friends who holiday together and share a bedroom are not on their radar as the standard rooms only have double beds which are too intimate if you are sharing. As the Hoxton did not have a twin room I changed my booking to a bunk room which I was assured by the staff was suitable for 2 adults as the bunk beds are adult size. These rooms are for kids not adults. They adjoin a double room. They are small and their sis very little space. They are definitely not worth the price charged which was equivalent to a standard double room - £219. The decor in the bedrooms at the Hoxton is bland, cheap and definitely nowhere near as stylish as other hotels of the same calibre in the vicinity. I actually found them quite depressing. Maybe the higher cost rooms are nicer.

We love the Hoxton brand and was excited for the new Hoxton, Shepherds Bush however we left very underwhelmed.

We are a couple in our 30s and stayed for x1 night for NYE. We’ve been to a few of the Hoxton’s and usually love them but feel underwhelmed with this one.

The hotel: is ‘nice’ not as wow factor as other Hoxton’s but it is ‘nice’.

Rooms: The large window in the room made it for us, apart from that it was quite uninspiring. The bathroom is ‘nice’ but cheaply done and reminded us of a hospital bathroom. Again not up to scratch compared to other Hoxtons’.

NYE: Disappointing which is the main reason for the average review. They had an event on which offered a free drink and free tattoo - we knew ahead of staying it wouldn’t be for us, but we’re told there would be a dj in the lobby and we could have some drinks - this sounded perfect to us but wasn’t the case.
The only cocktails were 6 they had selected, 2 or 3 were £35 each!
To be fair to the staff when we complained they did try to help but we were just disappointed. We then tried to get a drink around 1 and we’re told the bar had closed in the lobby - not great for hotel guests. The staff again offered a drink to apologise but it was all just pretty disappointing.

Breakfast: we had an offer of £50 room credit and used that for breakfast. Don’t bother with the breakfast is my biggest advice! For £40 we got some burnt sourdough, bacon, hash browns (which were actually nice) and an oj. If we had paid for it we would have sent it back.

Finally, the area: wouldn’t recommend. There are no restaurants or pubs/bars for a drink, this isn’t the hotels fault but just to make you aware. We also didn’t feel particularly safe walking around.

I did email the Hoxton 3 times for feedback but no one replied.

Hey 17705Aldaniellh, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. It is great to read that you love Hoxton as a brand but we are very sad to read you felt very underwhelmed. Whilst every Hoxton has similarities each hotel is unique and it is a great shame you feel that we do not have the wow factor the others do and we can only apologise you felt this way. We have taken your feedback on board regarding the bathrooms and will feed this back to the design team. With regards to New Years Eve, we appreciate that the event is not something you enjoyed but are disappointed despite our best efforts of getting you a complimentary drink and entry to our sold out NYE event which was priced at £56 per person that this was the main reason for the average review. We believe that you have been in contact with our Duty Manager's and did in-fact receive replies including the offer of a discounted rate should you wish to return, which you politely declined but should this not be the case we would love for you to discuss your feedback with our Head of Rooms, Andrew at andrew.muir@thehox.com. We hope that despite your recent experience you will continue to enjoy The Hoxton brand in other locations. Kind regards, The Hox Team
