Travelodge London Greenwich is celebrated by many for its prime location with excellent public transport links, though the proximity to traffic can disturb the peace. While the service has received mixed reviews, ranging from praise for the staff's friendliness to frustration over occasional unresponsiveness, cleanliness stands out positively with well-maintained rooms. The hotel's amenities, including a varied breakfast and comfortable beds, are generally appreciated, yet some guests have noted noise intrusions and bathroom inadequacies. Opinions on value are divided, with the balance tipping between the benefits of affordability and location against the drawbacks of noise and service issues.

I like a bargain and normally book cheap run-down dumps when I stay in London but this time I decided to upgrade to the luxury of a Travelodge. It was definitely worth paying the extra for a pleasant and comfortable stay without having to face poorly-maintained rooms, leaky shared bathrooms or beds falling apart in the night. I would stay here again.

Very handy for local DLR Station (less than 200 yds) indeed a good location with pleasant enough surroundings. Staff welcoming and friendly and the room was very clean and tidy as was the en suite. The downfall here was for me my room faced onto Blackheath Road so at night during the humid weather the window had to be closed, no air conditioning but a fan was provided. Eating area (I had breakfast each morning) was very clean and staff were very quick to clear and clean a table once vacated. Only the room position and lack of air conditioning made me mark the hotel down but for value for money it was more than suitable and I would give the staff top marks.

Room Tip: Try and book a room not facing Blackheath Road, DLR stop (Deptford Bridge) has step free access.

We stayed for a fortnight having picked location for access to public transport - DLR & buses. Close to Greenwich also a bonus, and also a good range of food options nearby.
The reception always seemed to be be staffed, and they were happy and friendly.
Housekeeping was a bit hit and miss. Requests for housekeeping were ignored a couple of times during our stay.
Our key cards continuously deactivated even though we kept them separate but reception always fixed immediately.
Inside the hotel and our room was continually overheated and the window could only be opened a few inches - and there were sirens all through the night.

I’ve been a loyal guest at the Travelodge Greenwich for business trips almost every month, but my most recent stay has been beyond disappointing. I raised my concerns directly with the hotel management, but they have been completely ignored, leaving me no choice but to write this review.

During my stay, I was disturbed repeatedly throughout the night. At just after midnight, I was woken by a commotion outside my room. Three members of staff were exiting the room across from mine, apologizing for the noise. However, an hour later, they returned and loudly demanded the guest in room 205 leave. This disturbance continued, and despite asking them twice to lower their volume, I was ignored.

It appeared that the guest may not have paid for their stay, which raises serious concerns about how the hotel manages check-ins and verifies bookings. Adding to this, earlier that day, another guest in front of me at reception had an issue where someone else had already checked in under their name. This suggests a systemic issue with booking and identity verification that requires urgent attention.

As if the disturbances caused by staff and unruly guests weren’t enough, I was woken again at 3 a.m. by the deafening noise of roadworks outside the hotel. No warnings were provided at check-in, and there were no notes, signage, or even earplugs in the room to mitigate this disruption.

Additionally, my colleague, who was due to stay at the hotel on the same trip, had her confirmed reservation mishandled and was forced to move to another hotel late at night—a completely unacceptable mistake.

Despite raising all these concerns via email, including asking for some form of compensation for the poor experience, I received no response from the management. The lack of acknowledgement shows a complete disregard for guest satisfaction and loyalty.

I used to appreciate the convenience of this location, but after this experience, I’ll seriously reconsider booking here again. I recommend others do the same until the management addresses these operational and customer service failures.

I visited this hotel in early August as an Australian tourist in need of last-minute accommodation, and I couldn't have been more impressed. The staff went above and beyond to assist me with the booking process, showing exceptional kindness and accommodation. Special thanks to Sabion and Phony (apologies if I've misspelled their names) for their outstanding service. My experience here was fantastic, and I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

Definitely worth considering. Not lux but for sleeping alone fine to do. I think by London standards a fairly spacious kame. In addition to breakfast (paid), you can arrange your breakfast at the Co-op or other supermarket. Helpful staff and staff

My room wasn't serviced at all - I was lead to believe that if I didnt put a message on the door, they would come and service my room. They asked that I put my towels in the shower if I wished for new ones- which I did, however no one came and I was left with soggy horrible towels!
The Shower also leaked, and whenever I used it the whole bathroom floor was soaked.
The pillows were lumpy and old, the sheet was very thin and there were no extra amenities eg. hairdryer or safe.
The TV didn't work and wouldn't turn on, and it was even little things like the fact you couldnt pull toilet roll off of the holder because it was the wrong size and got stuck.
Even factors such as entering the hotel were poor, the automatic door was broken and took about 20 seconds to even open, and my key card continuously meant I was locked out and had to be restarted.
The room also wasn't too clean and there were hairs and things all over the floor, and it was dusty.
The breakfast was sub par and I was promised vegetarian meat options, which weren't there at all.
Overall, I went expecting the bare minimum (just a place to rest, sleep and get ready after my days out for business purposes) but I unfortunately wasn't given even that. I don't expect high standards from a Travelodge but this was awful. The only redeeming factor was that the staff were lovely - this was clearly not their fault but rather the hotel's actual management through the chain and the funding it is provided to fix things / provide the correct amenities. For the amount I was paying (about £130 a night) I expected at least the basics to be in place. I often visit Travelodges, as do my colleagues and associates, and I'll be telling them about my experience and think again before staying at one.

We didn't expect a luxury hotel but neither did we expect a "hostel" disguised as a hotel.
In 5 days I asked for at least a change of tablecloths and a cleaning of the bathroom, or to empty the rubbish bins, or to provide hand soap, but despite writing down the room number and reporting several times, no one provided a solution.
The only positive note was the silence and the position in relation to the place we were interested in visiting.

Arrived on a Hot Evening on 29th July 2022. Found the Reception area clean and the Receptionist welcoming. However we found the Communal areas and our Room to be very Hot and oppressive. The Small Cooling Fan in the Room was faulty too,but worked with the front Guard removed. However it was totally inadequate and ineffective. The Room Window could only be opened marginally due to a safety restraint attached to it. Over our Two Night Stay we struggled with the oppressive Heat in our room. Another issue we had was a Failure of the lighting circuit in our Room at approximately Midnight. This was reported to the Reception Desk at Breakfast time on the Saturday Morning and we were told it would be dealt with. However upon our return at 23:00 on Saturday Night, the Lights were still out in our Room. We had to complain again to the Gent on the Reception Desk, who came up straightaway and reset the Lighting circuit Trip switch in the Corridor outside our Room.
Wifi although paid for as an extra was limited to a Max of 2 Devices. This was not mentioned in the detail of the Booking. Something to watch out for if you have a Family of more than 2 persons.
Plus points were the excellent unlimited Buffet Breakfast, but no Pancakes were available, despite being on the Breakfast Menu. Overall we were happy with our stay but perhaps attention to detail needs to be improved!

Staff couldn't care less. Brusque and unfriendly reception staff. Reported empty soap dispenser (was empty on our arrival), they brough up a cup of soap! Asked for dispenser filled up they said they would let housekeeping know, we also put a sign on our door for a soap top up, this was not done. So 3 opportunities to do it, was not done.
Room was very warm, could not open window due to traffic noise.
Paid for late checkout but still got locked out of room at 12:30, had to get that sorted.
