I booked the hotel at short notice for two nights at about £150. There was a problem processing my card details - not the hotel's fault - and the manager was proactive in phoning me to check that I was still coming, and to say that he had upgraded me to a family room for no extra cost.

The room was very clean and the bed comfortable (with memory foam pillows as well as normal ones). The wifi was free and fast.

The manager and other members of staff were very helpful in offering directions and recommendations for nearby places to eat. He was also very happy for me to use his printer.

A continental breakfast was served from 7 to 9, with an option for toast and eggs to be cooked. My one complaint here was that the milk was left on the side in a jug so wasn't chilled.

The hotel was well situated, ten minutes' walk from Hammersmith station and with a number of restaurants, pubs and takeaways on the doorstep.

Me and my son stayed at this hotel between 25.01.2020-01.01.2020. Initially we were planning to stay for 4nights but we loved this place so much that we made our stay longer, to 7nights.

The hotel is situated in a great location, between Shepard’s Bush (Westfield Shopping Center) and Hammersmith Station, close to both of them.

The room and bathroom cleaned daily. Everything is immaculately clean.

Kettle, TV, Wifi, comfortable double bed, room temperature ideal. Vending machine at the ground floor at very decent prices.

The staff was just GREAT! The manager, Luigi and his lovely wife always helpful, friendly, persons of trust and with a good sense of humor, Eleni and Amanda... Amanda is adorable, we miss her warm smile and her hot chocolate. They made us feel like home. I hope one day we will go back to this city and book again at Star Hotel which we consider “our home in London”.

Myself, my Daughter and my Mother stayed at the Star Hotel 17th to 19th Jauary. The staff were more than helpful , with the owner taking the time to call me before our trip to confirm things. The room was lovely and clean and very comfortable with a lovely bathroom. The breakfast was excellent even though it was continental the ladies still offered hot toast and eggs. Lots of choice. Great location . I hope I do stay again .

Thanks .

So basically I was going to a mates leaving bash for a few drinkypoos and decided on crashing at this gaff rarher than risk driving home (I'm a grown up).

The lady at the reception was pretty gleaming, very helpful and friendly. She did warn me about an issue with the door to my room but never had I imagined this would unfold into such horror. Following the bash I go to bed and wake up this morning. The delights of Hammersmith and the vagrants outside the window compliment the local character. I opt to wash, and here we have our first of only two issues. The shower head was a bit loose so I had to aim it with one hand and wash with the other, thus wasting time and water but the temperature was alreet so it isn't all bad. I dry, brush me peggies, get dressed, attempt to leave and THEN to my utter horror I discover the SECOND issue! The door to my room is broken. It won't open. It's stuck. The handle turned but the bolt refused to yield. I'm trapped.

I knocked and shouted for help but to no avail. I decided to use me noggin and began working on a plan to escape. To assist with this I put the kettle on (in times of crisis we drink tea). I considered lobbing myself out of the window but on carrying out a detailed risk assessment, I'd have had to negotiate the pigeon spikes before inevitably falling to my death. Not a viable option to be honest. I then considered burrowing through the wall but I'd forgotten my bore drill and your tea making kit didn't have one either. Kick the door off the hinges? Possibly.... but then I'd only be billed for the hinges.

Alas, I decided on the boring option and called reception for someone to come and rescue me. They came. I notified the nice young lady of the problem. She told me it had been a problem for a while.

Maybe fix it?

The good: the staff are very nice and helpful. The place is clean. The room size was very reasonable or the price. The neigbourhood is pleasant. There is Tesco right across the road.

Things to watch out for. Wasn't an issue for me, but might be important for you :

1. The location. This is zone 2, but it still takes about 30-45 minutes to get to most attractions. The tube is about 10 minutes walk or 2 bust stops.

2. No elevator, and very steep steps. There are three floors there, so with a big luggage and/or some mobility problem it might be tricky.

3. Despite the name - no breakfast. There are some places near the hotel where you can get a breakfast.

4. The reception is staffed from 8:00 to 23:00 only.

So why 2/5? Well, because of one bad thing which is the shower. The hotel has this electric unit on the wall that is supposed to heat water as it is flowing. It is terrible terrible terrible. First of all, the stream is extremely weak. Secondly, the temperature is not regulated well. It is both hard to get a comfortable temperature, and the temperature is not stable. Once it suddenly became cold; and once it suddenly became too hot. I was in this hotel 3 days, and I haven't had a normal shower once. After walking all day it is very frustrating.

This B&B has been an absolute find! Incredible service and the personal touch that makes you feel welcome from the outset.
My Daughter has stayed on and off for 5 months due to a work placement which has meant being flexible to our requirements.
Luigi has been amazing in his service and flexibility which has meant our consistent bookings.
Accommodation has been exceptional and very clean.
Thanks Luigi .. you made a potentially difficult few months very easy.Much appreciated.

A really nice little hotel with easy access to Hammersmith and Shepherds Bush. The room was small but clean. The shower didn't have very good pressure and the towels were small but we were happy here. The staff were friendly and helpful. No breakfast provided but there are plenty of lovely cafes in the immediate vicinity. The Star was the perfect place to use as a base for the weekend.

I had to travel back to London to make arrangements to head back to Australia due to the issues with the virus. Booked the hotel but there was a problem but when I arrived the manager got it sorted and I had a very pleasant 3 night stay. The hotel is on a main road but I did not notice the noise. The room was clean and the continental breakfast was filling. Close to all facilities and I would return again

Our first problem when we arrived is that their system would not accept our credit card (accepted everywhere else). I had to go to an ATM to pay for our room first. Then we found our room was on the third floor with no elevator. The room was little more than an attic, very stuffy and a tiny bathroom. When we left our small window open for air it was very noisy. Our reality was very different to the pictures. Close to the train station though.

Not far on the tube, few stops anywhere really, only a 7-10 min walk to station and there are some great pubs and restaurants around the hotel, an amazing huge shopping centre too!! I would stay here for cost reasons and jump on the tube into the town for sure.
