My husband and I stayed for 2 nights. We got in fron Scotland around 8am, got to the hotel at 11am but found out that check in was only at 2pm. We decided to leave our bags and go into the city. when we got back and took our key, we realised that they had upgraded out room to an...

Stayed in a twin room with ensuite. Room was small but clean, and the beds firm but not uncomfortable. Double glazing kept traffic noise to a minimum. We were on the top floor - there are 50 steps to get up from the entry level, 65 from the dining room, so tricky for the less able bodied. Bathroom was very...

We used this hotal as an overnight stop over for Eurostar for which the location is ideal. The reception was friendly and helpfull and seems to double as a living room! We were on the top floor with 3 flights of stairs which would prove difficult for anybody less mobile. The room was tiny, with a 3/4 double bed and...

Nothing fancy but then it doesn't pretend to be. Stayed here when i went to a gig in Highbury and although the room was small and right at the top of the building it was spotlessly clean and tidy and very comfortable. Breakfast the next day was plentiful and tasty (choice of full english or continental) and the staff were...

Apollo Hotel is a B&B in my own category. The whole stretch of Argyle St is full of B&Bs. It is simple, basic, but it meets the simple needs of London tourists who will not spend so long time in their rooms when in the city. The staff are friendly and helpful. Two choices for breakfast: full English and continental....

Hotel is a bit run down with small rooms and dated decor. In terms of location it is ideal for getting around London with tube and train stations on the doorstep. Good breakfast included in the price.

We had a double room on the top floor up several flights of stairs, which was extremely small with a low ceiling. We knew from the photos on the website that there was only room to walk down one side of the bed, however it would not be suitable for anyone who was claustrophobic.. It was a heat trap with...

The good - full English breakfast; friendly staff; central location. The OK - proximity to King's Cross rail station. The bad - the tiny, squashed room; the rundown state of the bathroom; the poor water flow in the room sink; a pillow on the stair floor which lay there for 12 hours; noise (slamming doors, pub nearby); the unexpected 3%...

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighbourhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
