I wanted to book my partner a 5 star stay and this property offered an unbeatable rate which appeared on booking.com to look great, and it did not disappoint.

Pre-stay:
I contacted the property prior to booking to see if they could assist me in making it a memorable birthday stay, and they did just that.

First impressions:
Check-in was fast, friendly and hassle free.
The property itself is located just a 5 minute walk from Paddington station, which allowed us, as a young couple, to access all the city had to offer.
The environment in the hotel was peaceful, with no issues with regards to noise. Even the street noise you expect in a prime London location like this wasn’t existent.

Our room:
We arrived to a room of rose petals, a free upgrade, a towel ‘cake’ covered in little hotel chocolates, bottle of Prosecco, cans of soft drinks and even a slice of cake with a happy birthday message with an accompanying birthday card. I was impressed to say the least.

We had the ‘Club Room’, which was generously spacious, particularly again as a London hotel, we had more than enough space to feel comfortable. The decor was pristine and felt very comforting versus the cheap colour schemes often offered by other hotels. Our room even had a microwave, allowing us to reheat leftovers from any dining out we had brought back to the hotel!
The bed was extra big, and as comfortable as you’d expect from a 5 star hotel. Double pillows were provided for each side of the bed with clean comfortable sheets.
The bathroom had a gorgeous large head shower, such as the waterfall showers you would see in Bali. Equipped with more than enough towels, the bathroom also had little essentials such as shower gel and body lotion.
We felt secure with the electric key card access to the room, and 24/7 attendance on reception.

For what we paid, I am completely overwhelmed with how great value this hotel is, a stay without compromise.

I can’t thank the staff at this hotel enough for accommodating us. We had a fantastic memorable stay and will be recommending the hotel to any and all who ask.

This hotel is close to Paddington Station (easy walking distance). When you arrive the first impressions are excellent. Lovely helpful staff and spotlessly clean. We arrived a bit early and the room wasn't quite ready, but were quickly offered a tea or coffee and waited in the dining area. We booked a club room for the extra space, but unfortunately the first room we had (room 106) didn't have this. My husband went to reception who were really helpful and showed him several different rooms that were available to move to. He chose room 107 which was quite a lot bigger. However, what he didn't factor in was that this room was above the hotel kitchen so we did, unfortunately, have the smell from the kitchen seeping in to the room.

The room itself was well appointed with high end toiletries, tea and coffee facilities and for some reason a microwave. Whilst we were out in the evening someone covered the bed in rose petals and left chocolates for us, which was lovely.

Breakfast was nice. We only had the continental, but still plenty of options.

All in all a lovely stay with very attentive and professional staff.

I stayed at the Park Grand London, Lancaster Gate Hotel for seven days, and I must say the staff went above and beyond to ensure I felt welcome… Valee went out of her way to ensure that all of my needs were attended to, with regards to my stay, and requiring anything for my room.
Ionella and Ankita were additionally more than complementary to my needs anytime I passed the front desk, or rang up from the room. I also feel that it is important to highlight The cleanliness of this hotel. For the price, you would think that it would not be as tidy as it is, but it is very much a boutique style hotel, complete with a cute little kitchen and terrace that will serve you tea… The most amazing feature I found about this location were the heated floors in the bathroom… Nice and toasty when you’re getting out of the shower. I would rate five stars, and stay again!

It’s my first time in London and Park Grand Lancaster Gate somehow made my trip perfect. The hotel location is near tube stations that makes it easy for a solo traveller like me to move around. It is also a 5min walk to Paddington train station where you can easily take the express train to Heathrow Airport - amazing, right!

Hotel itself is lovely too! The room is clean, warm and complete with basic toiletries and free snacks. Could be minor, but I really do appreciate that all the power sockets in the room are universal - very convenient!

Staffs are very friendly and always there if you need them. Plus, they serve free coffee and pastries in the morning and hot choco at night.

Highly recommended!

A group of four of us went for afternoon tea at the hotel, to celebrate one of our birthdays, using a great value Wowcher deal of £15 a head (normal price £25). We had a choice of traditional, chocolate or Indian menus to choose from, including a half bottle of prosecco per person. We decided to have two traditional, and two Indian, to share.

One word of warning: extraordinarily, there is another hotel, also called Park Grand in Lancaster Gate, which we went to first! Our one was about 100 yards away, in Craven Hill.

The room was a bit sterile, and rather modern, in contrast to the outside of the building. We didn't much like the white, formica tables and plastic table mats, and I was very unimpressed by the grubby-looking door to the loo (though the toilet itself was spotless). However, our waitress was absolutely delightful and welcoming. She carefully explained all the food and drink, and we were all offered masala chai, which my three friends did try, but I rejected, as it's not "my cup of tea"!

The prosecco seemed to be good quality, and to be honest, having half a bottle meant I never actually got round to drinking any tea!
The plentiful food items, including desserts, like chocolate mousse cups, as well as cakes, were presented on attractive crockery, and the strawberry jam and cream for the scones was in very generous quantities, unlike many teas I've had. The savouries were all very tasty, though we did feel some of the bread in the sandwiches was a tad dry. On the whole, we all preferred the Indian selection, and were really pleased we'd chosen two portions. We were unable to finish all the food, so the birthday girl took some home with her, in the happily provided boxes. Another nice touch was that she was presented with a cupcake, complete with lit candle, on a plate decorated with "Happy Birthday" written in chocolate.

We were asked to fill in a feedback form, and gave the overall experience 4 out of 5 stars (no option of half stars!), and made a point of complimenting the waitress, whom we also tipped separately.

Overall, it was a very good experience, and excellent value, even had we paid the full price.

The hotel is smart, clean, well located and the staff were helpful and professional. However, we had a room in the ground floor annex which, although clean and containing everything we required (and things we didn’t: a fridge, microwave and iron/board), the whole annex corridor and our room smelt of damp and the bathroom was so small, there wasn’t enough room to dry yourself after a shower without having the door open. The bed was comfortable but the bed lamps didn’t work so we had full overhead lights on (too bright in the evening when chilling out) or nothing at all (too dark) and the wifi didn’t work in our room (4G signal also poor). That said, the hotel is on a quieter street in an otherwise busy neighbourhood so there is no street noise in your room.

Breakfast was included in the room but we opted to eat out (Laurent’s Café round the corner served amazing coffee and the BEST croissants - a must try!). All things considered, this hotel is good by London standards for the price, which was reasonable. If we stayed again we would ask for a room in the main hotel building to avoid the damp smell. The afternoon tea looked delicious and plenty of people seemed to be enjoying it in the dining area. With a few tweaks this hotel could be excellent.

Our trip had been postponed 3 times due to covid, when we finally were able to travel. The staff at Park Grand was extremely gracious and friendly even though we had previously paid for the accommodations as part of a discounted rate two years ago. The Paddington area location is a great central location with the train station and underground providing access to anywhere in the greater London area and beyond. The staff was very helpful in calling taxis and recommending local restaurants. The English Breakfast at the hotel was very good and the staff was receptive to made-to-order requests. As you would expect, the rooms are small, but very clean and updated with the latest amenities including refrigerator and microwave.

The best stay I have ever experienced in London. My stay was a mixture of business and pleasure and as soon as I arrived, a porter carried my suitcase to my room. The room was very clean and comfortable, unlike many hotels in London. They have hairdryers, body wash and shampoo etc of good quality products and everything actually works. The price is so reasonable for the Paddington/Lancaster Gate area too. The staff are so accommodating and highly responsive to any requests you may have. The breakfast was so delicious too with a range of options which are of high quality, and not at all greasy (like many hotels in London). I shall definitely be staying there again and cannot wait for their kitchen for evening meals to be open once again, based on how lovely the breakfast was. To me, it's more than a 4 star hotel! Thank you to the lovely staff there and see you again soon! Oh and the afternoon tea is amazing too.

We stayed here for my husbands 30th birthday. We saw such good reviews and when we saw the price I wasn’t sure as it was a good deal on hotels.com. We decided to give it a go as it’s so well located and I’m so glad we did

We booked the club room as the other rooms seemed quite a lot smaller. We first stayed in room 309 & the room was lovely. Had a large bathtub, and overall a ok size room. Rooms seemed very clean and fresh. Safes are in all rooms along with a fridge, tea and coffee, kettle, hair dryer and toiletries. As I called ahead and explained it was my husbands 30th birthday they left a cake shaped towels on the bed, rose petals, bottle of bubbly, a cheesecake with Happy Birthday & a hand written note wishing him a good birthday stay. I was so happy with this and it made our stay extra special.

During the evening we noticed we could hear the people above us walking around. I don’t think this is normally an issue as when we phoned reception they explained there was a family with a baby above and offered to move us. We then moved down to room 809 due to this and we were so surprised as this second club room was so much bigger. Although it was on the lowest floor it’s well worth the room as it’s much bigger with a king size bed rather than a double. If you plan to book a club room ask for 809, it’s much larger & generally nicer. Although we were happy to move rooms, the reception informed us that they were sorry this happened and offered free breakfast.

The hotel supply free bottle water in rooms along with tea and coffee and extra when needed from reception. We asked for extra toiletries and within minutes someone was at our door. Compared to other hotels I have stayed at this was fab.

The breakfast was nice, options of pastries, cereals, cold meats, yogurts, fruit etc. The staff seemed very conscious of items running out and often checked and added items. They also have a cart at reception for all guests to take pastries and cakes which is great for food on the go. Hot breakfast is available for £5 is wanted however we didn’t. The staff at breakfast had been informed that it was my husbands birthday weekend and came over to wish him happy birthday followed with another small cake with birthday decoration.

Over all the service of the staff was fantastic, they all went above and beyond and couldn’t be more helpful! I would definitely recommend this hotel to others and would stay again for future trips.

Thanks for such a nice stay!

I was a bit apprehensive about staying here after reading the mixed reviews. We were given a room upgrade on arrival with a free continental breakfast or full English for £5. Nice clean room, on the small side but a room is just for sleeping in. The bed sheet was oddly slightly too small and the shower was not as powerful as I would have liked but all in all good value for money. We could hear the people in the room above walking about but these are old buildings so you expect some noise. The continental breakfast was adequate. We did have to explain to the waiter that we had been offered a free breakfast, the communication was a bit lacking. The area is very quiet and ideally located for a trip to the theatre, just a short walk to Lancaster Gate tube and a few stops to Tottenham Court Road. I would stay here again and would recommend the hotel.

Dear Shaziah B, We do not have parking at the hotel, as its a residential area. The closest car park is the NCP Car park behind the Paddington Station and Q-Park in Queensway.

If storing your luggage at Park Grand London Lancaster Gate Hotel is not an option, you may want to consider luggage storage services at Paddington station which is located a few blocks away from the hotel. I believe they charge 5£ per piece per day.
