Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Ok we’ve tried & failed several times to book a stay at The Victoria, as this is the closest hotel to the family we have living in the area. Finally got a vacancy in mid March. Happy days! What a lovely little hotel, our room, although a little on the small side, was very clean and nicely laid out, the bed was very comfortable. Coffee, tea, water etc in room. The only meal we had was the continental breakfast, which suited us. A couple points which would be an improvement, is a mirror at the desk/dresser and a shaving socket.

Very disappointed with my stay at the Victoria The room was small and dingy. The radiator in room didn’t work and bathroom very small. The room was supposed to be recently renovated but it was tired and drab.and the carpet was stained.Thin duvet and cheap sheets. Didn’t find the staff helpful and was only told when I was there that they didn’t serve breakfast on a Monday !!! Would not recommend this establishment. James

We booked for 1 night and on arrival had I been able to stay elsewhere I would have. I booked 2 rooms which were overpriced in my view at £150 each. I was promised 10% off if I booked direct (rather than through an aggregator) but this was not honoured. The good thing was that the rooms were spotlessly clean (apart from one loo which had blocked and backed up). Otherwise the mattresses were cheap and uncomfortable, the bed linen was of poor quality and the shower was alternately powerful and then a dribble. There was a group of very noisy children playing unsupervised outside in a play area and we were woken by plane noise at 5am (though this is not uncommon in East Sheen as it lies directly under the Heathrow flight path). There was no coffee machine in the room as advertised but there was a kettle, mugs and milk sachets. The teabags were unpleasant and I didn’t get as far as the instant coffee sachets. This is a great shame as the place was recommended by local family who used it regularly to accommodate guests before the pandemic. The staff were civil but neither friendly nor accommodating. I suspect they were focussed on the wedding party which was in full swing when we arrived…

Lovely small hotel. Rooms equipped with everything needed and spotlessly clean. Enjoyed some delicious bar food late afternoon before going for evening. Staff extremely friendly. I enjoyed a delicious continental breakfast (included in room charge whilst my husband enjoyed a full English (extra). My only suggestion is some heating in the conservatory used for breakfast, was a tad chilly in there!

An increasingly scruffy dump full of over indulged children running riot while their over indulged dads ignore them: what a horrible experience. There is a sign at the front door requiring you to walk past and enter the pub via the garden, thus forcing you to wander through the back of the pub by the bins and toilets to reach the tiny bar. There are friendly servers with their obligatory iPads wandering round if you want to take the risk of a) getting their attention and/or b) waiting as long as it takes for your order to be made up, but with only three staff covering the bar and garden while another woman 'supervised', you may prefer to do the outdoor toilets unguided tour as I did. The restaurant area looks boarded up, so maybe that’s why they don’t want you inside. All in all, this ceased to be a pub many years ago but has now lost whatever identity it may have once replaced that with.

Always great food! There are amazing things in the menu here - you wouldn’t expect it in this pub, quite far from East Sheen highstreet. Very sofisticated cuisine and nicely natural service. Highly recommend!)

Very nice location, rooms were comfortable and the staff was amazing in satisfying our requests. They went above and beyond to make us, as customers, happy! We had also a nice dinner and lunch during our stay. All good and strongly recommended

BEWARE: No off-street Parking and NO BREAKFAST on Mon and Tue. I really wish I could have given The Victoria five stars. On paper it's good value for money. HOWEVER, we were only staying one night and I needed three things: 1. Free parking 2. Breakfast in the morning 3. Low price. When we arrived, we were told that the carpark has been shut "for quite a while." (It's still listed on all the advertisements,) Thankfully, we found adequate street parking. Then we were told that they WOULDN'T be providing the free breakfast because the pub is closed Monday and Tuesday mornings. Our receipt specifically said "Breakfast included." We found ways around both of these problems, but there was NO concern from the manager about the incorrect advertising. In fact, we got little more than a grunt from her. The room itself is very tidy, and had really good linens and toiletries. They provided lovely bottles of water. Sadly, we had to walk through the pub which smelled of other people's old fish dinners. A kind word from the staff would have made all the difference here. We might have eaten in the pub. If they'd been surprised and apologetic that we were misled I would have easily been mollified. But we were a nuisance. I'd even sent an email before our trip to ask about parking and breakfast and there has been no answer. I love small business and wish I could support this one. Better training and management (and accurate advertising) would make this place a real gem.

We stayed here on Saturday over Easter weekend. Nice pint of ale before going to party locally. Given keys to let ourselves back into the hotel area when we got back. Opted for the continental breakfast which was in the cost of the room. Expected just a croissant and a coffee… got cereal, chunky toast, cheese, salami, yogurt, fruit, pastry. Comms ahead of the stay had been efficient and polite. Very welcoming place to stay. Comfortable modern room with en suite. We would be very happy to stay again.

Four of us went for a lunch after walking in Richmond Park today. Even though we are all relative locals we had not been to the Victoria in years. We had an outstanding lunch. Interesting menu and excellent cooking. Can really recommend.
