Your visit to London as a tourist will be both an enjoyable and exhausting affair and our family run hotel is the ideal place to recharge. Monopole Hotel is centrally located but distant enough to provide tranquil nights in the 24 hour city. The hotel is within five minutes walk of Paddington Station, which not only gives you access to ‘the tube’ (aka the London Underground) but to the National rail as well which allows you to take day trips outside London to Oxford and Windsor. This station also provides a direct link to Heathrow Airport and for those who prefer to take to London on foot, we are ten minutes walk away from Marble Arch, Oxford Street (which is the main shopping promenade), Hyde Park, and Madame Tussauds.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We got moved here as our hotel suddenly could not accommodate us even though we paid. Please understand a lot of these hotels are budget hotels in paddington so do not expect flutes and whistles. But what you get here is very kind people a decent place on the doorstep of Paddington station/tube and right near Norfolk Street with lovely cafes bars etc an ideal base for concerts theatre's and travel. He showed us to our room then knocked a few minutes later and offered us twin which we used. Had lovely conversations then the next morning he supplied tea/coffee as much toast as you like and eggs and bacon which we were very grateful for. Thanks so much for looking after us with such short notice we will be back.

Did not book this hotel but got moved to Monopole Hotel from hotel at Norfolk Sq due to flooding The Brazilian receptionist (forgot his name) was excellent at his job not very often I can say this about receptionists. He also cooked fresh simple English breakfast, he obviously is happy working at Monopole thus creating a positive vibe for guests. Nice location Would like to book in the future

I am deeply grateful to Dimitris, manager of hotel and his assistant Paolo for help, great support and that special home feelings. The last time I've been here they provided for me the very warm, nice room, just what I needed, and whatever I asked them to help me with they done it with no hesitation but friendly smile. They will never bother you for nothing but are always willing to help. It's just like been with your family. It was New Year time and I was pleased I stayed in this hotel during this time- it was pleasant, especially that one family, me and Paolo spent couple of hours in this evening in reception room watching New Year TV programs and joking - that was the best New Year celebration for me in very friendly joyful environment. An excellent ratio quality-price hotel located in the centre of London in short distance to all amenities and transport. Hotel is always providing great service. All rooms are clean, tidy, the breakfast always cooked perfectly and tasty, and in time, and served with smile. This is exactly what tired traveller need, and not many hotels around are so friendly as Monopole hotel.

Booked in to the Metro Hotel, however got moved to this hotel. Looking at the reviews this was a bonus! It is what it is. The member of staff was pleasant and kind, the rooms are small, but clean. Would only recommend a single night here. Not awful, but convenient. Did take a long long time for the hot water to work in the shower!

I spent three nights in this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It is within a walking distance to several interesting places. The room was clean and so was the hotel. I'll recommend it to anyone that needs affordable accomodation in London and I'll surely return for another visit.

I was there for three nights only but I can tell you it is a good place. The owners are lovely, always kind and they succeed to satisfy all your requests. The room and the bathroom were small but clean. They have adapters and hair dryers, you just have to ask. In the bathroom there is a shower without the curtain so you have to be careful if you don't want to wet everything around you (there is no mat) but it is not a huge problem. The breakfast is limited, there aren't many opinions but the food is good. The hotel is situated in a peaceful and pretty area, the tube and train stations of Paddington are a five minutes walk away and the area is full of restaurants and lovely views to see. I definitely recommend this hotel!

I stayed here as a single traveler for nearly three weeks in June 2014 (visiting someone in St. Mary's Hospital) and found it more than merely acceptable for the bargain (by London standards) price of 50 pounds a night for a single traveler. The single rooms are small but adequate (with wardrobes rather than closets, a small desk, a double bed, provided towels and soap). Shower/sink combination is built into a corner of the room, but toilets are in separate small rooms off the hallways. Breakfast is in a room in the bottom floor -- invariably 2 eggs, English-style bacon, toast, and coffee or tea. It is literally an easy 10-minute walk from Paddington station which you can reach by train from Heathrow (Heathrow Express every 15 minutes for 20 pounds sterling; Heathrow Connect every half hour for 10 pounds). There are many restaurants nearby and a Tesco supermarket a few blocks away that sells carryout items you can take to your room. The staff are friendly, especially a Brazilian guy, Paulo. Their website provides a map to use when walking from Paddington station. The wi-fi is free and a strong signal.

Nice B&B near Paddington Station (3 min walk). It's a silent area so you can rest properly. The rooms are quite small and the bathroom too, but after a long day spent walking around the city a bed is all you need. Cheap and nice

The room was small, but clean and we had everything - comfortable bed, tv, wifi, small closet, clean bathroom and hot radiator. Stuff was also very polite and welcoming and we had really good breakfast... I will definitely come here again, because of the combination of very good price and location and hotel itself are not possible to say no.
