Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Martin was amazing; super helpful and friendly. Great value for money for what you get. Definitely a few things need updating like the shower holder and TV bracket as it was sideways mounted and didn’t turn out to face the direction of the bed. Small shower but does the job. Location was good. Had to check in a few doors down but directions were on the front door. Easy check in and check out. On street parking round the corner after 8pm you don’t have to pay. There are a lot of stairs to walk up and not lift so don’t pack too much but would definitely stay again.

Very Bad experience. Booked and paid for accommodation at Sapphire Hotel London. Received message advising following the booking to pick up keys from Pearl Hotel London, which is few doors from Sapphire Hotel. Instead without consent accommodation was changed to be at Pearl Hotel. Was allocated a tiny basement room, building exhaust outlet next to the room window (therefore unable to open the window for fresh air), room has no air conditioning but with a wall fan, tiny TV too small to watch from the bed, only 1 chair instead to be used for sitting has to be used to sit a suitcase (another suitcase to be on the floor), leaving a tiny space for couple to move around the tiny room. Mattress is uncomfortable, bedding poor quality, room carpet old. Tiny bathroom. Should be placed at accommodation that was booked and paid for and not to a different accommodation. Disappointed!!!

The manager Malik is a creep hoping to see which ladies he can hit on and take advantage of—such a scum bag. The big guy Roy is also the worst as he stays in women's business, talking about the guests amongst the managers. Such lowlife behaviour. Be careful of them. Apart from the cheap rooms, the best rooms are only in the Sapphire hotel.

Firstly, on arrival we couldnt check in to the building we had actually booked. We had booked the Sapphire hotel but actually stayed in the Pearl Hotel. He even checked our ID's on arrival as if we were children? I asked about breakfast and even though it clearly states on the website that a cooked breakfast would be included, it wasn't. I asked the night staff why this hasnt been removed from the website and he couldnt really answer me and dodged the question multiple times, even showing him their own webpage stating it. The night Staff Malik was extremely rude and tried to shut the door on me twice when raising the issues. I asked him if he wanted to the shut the door, and he tutted at me which i had to remind him who has paid the money for the room, i would expect better. The 'Executive' suite you would expect something relatively worthy of the name but no. I wasn't expecting an amazing view but at least half decent, i had full view of the community kitchen from my window, so even if i wanted my curtains open i couldn't. The headboard wasn't even attached to the bed or the wall! So it kept sliding down if i wasn't in it. The shower shelves were rusty and the noise outside my room disturbed my sleep multiple times. I had 2 wall lights, only 1 worked. I had 2 lamps, 1 of them didnt even have a lightbulb in. And to top it all off, my colleague had a staff member barge into his room... No knock, no apology. He just said... "he was allowed". This causes great concern for people if they were having a shower/getting undressed etc. For this reason me and him had to Baracade our doors with towels and chairs in order to secure our privacy for the evening. Absolutely disgusting!!! And if the staff bother to respond to this, do not ask why we didnt speak to you about it - as I went to reception at 12:30 at night since i was out earlier in the day. And the treatment from 'staff' was inexcusable. DO NOT BOOK, DONT GET FOOLED BY THE PICTURES. THIS HOTEL IS NOT WORTH A TENNER.

As lots of others have mentioned I had to pick up my key from The Pearl Hotel a few doors down. I had, at least, received an email earlier in the day asking me to do this. The Sapphire itself has no facilities and no one around. My room was small, the bathroom incredibly cramped. The washbasin shelf was broken and looked as it had been for some time. The shower holder was broken so I had to hold it myself. The shower head was broken so it jetted water in two different directions. At night the radiator was fully on with no way to turn down/off I put in the morning, when it was chilly, the radiator was completely off! Don’t think I will be going back!

We booked the hotel saphire upon arrival 5 minutes early we were shown the room and was told by the cleaner it hadn't been cleaned yet and to wait 10 minutes for the cleaner to do it we refused and asked for a ready clean room we were sent to the pearl hotel greeted with an angry and aggressive man in the office room who started to shout and use threatening behaviour by waving his hands out and i was clearly upset by him threatening if we do not take the room here either we leave or he xall the police I was horrified we had travelled 5 hours and to be greeted like this was bad enough to be moved to be then given a room that was not clean was shocking the tiles were broken mirror not on wall fixture no bins unmade bed blood in bathroom and on toilet roll thw noise was horrendous all through the night men shouting banging and floor boards banging overall it had been the worst place I've ever had to stay please do not go to these hotels

This hotel is quite simply dirty with no facilities at all. I arrived yesterday to find a message on the door telling me to go 7 doors down. No breakfast, service, nothing. The mould on my bathroom ceiling was the worst I have ever seen. We paid almost €200 for last night due to limited availability in the area. An outright scandal.

Be warned. If you are booking the Sapphire hotel, it probably won’t be where you stay! Sounds like we had a similar experience to many others on here, we got redirected to a hotel 7 doors down the road on arrival. Our initial room was tiny and not clean, then some random guy managed to unlock our door with his keycard. So I demanded to be moved to the place I had actually booked. The staff did accommodate this and we were moved to yet again, a different hotel to the sapphire, a hotel next to the sapphire. A better room, comfortable enough. But not clean, in fact blood splatters up the bedroom and bathroom doors and curtains. The room was acceptable and a good location. But definitely not worth the money and something just felt dodgy about the place and the whole experience. Avoid.
