I booked this hotel even after reading awful reviews, wanting to keep an open mind. When I was shown our room in the basement I was really shocked at the size, it being so small it was difficult to walk in there to the window, and the worst thing was the duvet was stained with what looked like poo/urine on it. I asked for another room, explaining the 2 issues with it, the gentleman seemed completely unfazed/or did not understand English, I am not sure or he is used to complaints, and he said there were no other rooms and they were all the same size anyway? I am not sure this is accurate. Anyway I was firm and he went to speak to another member of staff who was very helpful, I showed her the duvet, although she did not appear shocked or surprised. We had the room next door instead (still in the basement though) which was a little bigger. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom really small, sink partially blocked and very difficult to get the water the right temperature in the shower, the extractor fan not working so really unpleasant to be in the bathroom, tiles cracked and overall the room was very dirty. The stairs to the basement are uneven some steep, some not so steep, and the door at the top is so dirty with finger marks most of the paintwork is black. Also I noted lots of plug in air fresheners in the basement which I believe is to mask the unpleasant mold/dirty smell accumulated over time. I almost booked another hotel room for the next night, however breakfast was really good, lots to choose from and knowing we would not be there all day, decided to put up with one more night. I do feel for the staff there, they appear to be almost dejected looking, and it must be hard trying to keep things going with such a run down, dirty hotel in an exquisite area. The photos are nothing like what it is like inside. While I was in the dining area playing cards I heard other guests complaining about the shower and water temperature. I think they were offered a refund, from a lovely young female staff member. I truly believe it could do with Health &Safety going in there or the hotel inspector to put things right. Whoever owns it needs to take a step back and make a decision about moving forward with the place, either selling it to someone who will make it lovely again or close it down for refurbishment. It is not good working conditions at all and I do wonder what "behind the scenes" are like, such as the kitchen and staff rooms because if the owner is ok to let customers sleep there in such appalling conditions (I paid 256 for 2 nights) are they really looking after the staff? I have always given the hotel room cleaner a tip throughout my life when staying away- however this is the first time I have not done so.

Our room initially looked basic but what do you expect for the cheapest deal on booking.com?

Walls had paint peeling, bathroom tiles cracked, dodgy looking stains on carpet, the worst points hygiene wise were the shower tray was blocked and filled up with use and the rentokil dispenser found under the bed (I put it outside on the windowsill for our stay)

There was no bedside lamp and There was no curtain only some old dirty blinds on the window. The window itself was single glazed, mouldy and rotten.

There is a sheesha bar downstairs and the music and noise was really loud until the early hours and we were on the top floor, must of been horrendous lower down. Smelled nice though.

There was a noise day and night, possibly from the lift or a water pump which would take a bit of getting used to long term.

There was no hot water on last day.

The redeeming features were that the beds were really comfortable with feather pillows and the lady and young lad working there seemed nice and were friendly enough.

This hotel was what you expect for the money. Fine for adults after a cheap bed. Not really suitable for familys.

Beep beep beep beep beep beep beep —

That is the sound of my alarm warning you not to come here.

The hotel might appear relatively affordable, but you will pay with a poor night’s sleep. This is because of the incredibly thin walls exacerbate which fail to muffle noise, and the drafty windows which let all the cold air seep in.

The poky room size makes navigating to the bathroom another challenge. If you add to this the frosty welcome, you will be left feeling distinctly sorry if you choose to stay here.

My partner and I stayed for 1 night on 4th December 2021 and were told initially on checkout the TV didn't work and we're offered a discount on breakfast. But...what was instore in the supposed Double Deluxe Room (which was a polar opposite to the photos and was practically a standard Double) was very disgraceful. We discovered that the walls and skirting throughout the room was full of scuffs and chunks missing in the skimming on the walls. The headboard above the bed was full of dust and caused my partner to have a terrible due to her allergies. The floor throughout was exceptionally slippy and my partner slipped various times. The paintwork in the corner near the table had blistered and had been left untreated by the hotel. The breakfast was extremely disappointing, £7 charge per person where the hot food available was stone cold, hotdogs instead of sausages and were cut up into pieces. The worst of today issues we experienced was upon leaving the room to checkout I went to remove my bag from under the open corner wardrobe next to the bathroom door where the plinth surrounding the bottom shelf flew open and cut the top of my finger in the process and when first discovering most of the issues in the room, we found a bug trap under the bed clearly signifying past issues with the room with bugs. Charged £98 a night for a diabolical, disgraceful and disgusting nights stay on my and my partners first weekend away. My partner left very upset and crying until we got to Westminster.

Would never recommend this establishment to anyone. It's shambolic and disgrace to the hospitality industry. Even giving a 1 star review was excruciating.

I am so not a complainer, having worked in the service industry myself fo many years, I am pretty patient and understanding. However, this 'hotel' made me uncomfortable from the moment we shoved open the door on Wednesday. No greeting, zero customer service. Room looked OK at first, new paint and pictures on the walls. However, there were no curtains, just a dodgy broken blind. The room smelled of the bathroom, walls like paper and a sash window with no secondary glazing. There didn't seem to be any women working at the hotel, for some reason this made me feel less safe, although I appreciate that is personal to me. The noise from the basement/garden shisha bar was the main problem, it sounded like the guys were just next to us! As a half term treat to visit London for my ASD son, we couldn't get any sleep, so it just wasn't for us. So, we checked out just before 1am and sought refuge in the Holiday Inn down the road.

I have just returned from a 2 night stay in this horrible horrible place.

Please pay attention to the reviews this is not a hotel it is not even classed as a hostel it is absolutely disgusting. Staff are non existent and when we did finally get to speak to someone at reception they were extremely rude and unhelpful.

We even witnessed someone else at reception being refused the room they booked (lucky escape) because they didn't have their passport.

Do not even start me on the rooms, massive stains of goodness knows what on the floor, blood stained beds, dodgy electrics which is nothing short of a disaster waiting to happen and the bathrooms are foul full of mould, cracked sinks and cracked tiles.

We were also kept up all night with the blaring music coming from the shisha bar next door.... Which there is no mention of anywhere and it's open till 4am. I was wondering why ear plugs were left on the bed for our arrival!

Please if you have any sense do not waste your money or precious time staying in this hotel its a mini version of hell.

This place should be shut down!!

This was better then expected! It is placed in a nice area very close to tube station and corner shop, we went to see a show and felt like this was a perfect location for the price. Comfortable beds, spacious room, even had a fridge, was well impressed, friendly staff, what more do you want? Well worth the price. The only reason why I put less stars was music and lights coming through the blinds but it really didn’t bother us.

Don’t bother is cheap for a reason. Upon first inspection our room wasn’t too bad, small but do able. It then got worse. First of all the window not only being mouldy, wouldn’t lock and was extremely leaky, left the room freezing and noisy all the time. A gap under the door meant we could hear everything all the time during whatever hours of the night and let through so much light. The blinds in all rooms wouldn’t close enough, and so was difficult to get a good sleep. The shower flooded every time it was turned on due to clogged drain which we mentioned to reception who said they would sort it but failed to do so throughout our whole stay. Not only this but the temperate wouldn’t stay consistent you were either scolded or freezing making it really difficult to get clean and have a nice shower. Not to mention the water pressure not being good at all. The toilet constantly leaked water into the pan making a lot of noise all the time. To make matters worse after a horrendous shower the hair dryer provided once plugged into the only socket we could find in the room, began to smoke and was a serious risk to our safety. To top it off, after all this chaos, you couldn’t relax and watch the television as not only was it hanging off of the wall, the plug would not reach the only available socket. This room was completely unacceptable even considering the price, not big enough, one wardrobe for 3 people and no where to store our luggage. 0 stars in my opinion

The rooms are clean, there's a small lift and nice seating area on the ground floor. It's not busy enough for breakfasts or meals. So as it's a cheap hotel, and it's probably a listed building, the windows are single glazed sash style. The hook on ours didn't line up with the loop on the frame, so a plastic spoon was used to jam it. You can hear traffic but it's not bad. There was plenty of tea and coffee in the room. No sweeteners only sugar but overall OK. Towels are supplied as is shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. They are not big rooms but it's for sleeping. Considering the Mariot over the road was 1200 quid dearer, I'm not complaining. Don't expect 5 star. Expect a clean, tidy room with some nice bits. Close to shops tube plus some nice cafes.

We booked this hotel on our recent extended stay to London. The hotel is a nice budget friendly hotel close to high street Kensington and close to Earl Courts Underground.
The national Museum is walking distance from here.
Breakfast is average can do better.
The quad room was very small however beds were comfy. The toilets can be upgraded as they don't have any handle or rack to hang your clothes or towels. The shower needs a fix. If you are just a visitor and don't care for much service -then this place can work for you.
The most amazing part of the hotel we can remember is our interaction with Marie-the front desk receptionist. She's such a helpful and resourceful girl.
Marie helped me book an RTPCR for my daughter at the last minute. She graciously attended to all our queries and attended to us each time with a smile.
