Our room was fine, clean, big bed. I have an issue with having frosted bathroom doors as they are impractical; when one of you needs to get up in the night the light shines through the door into the bedroom. Breakfast was a farce! We arrived and asked for tea and toast. toast was cold when it arrived, they took...

We stayed for two nights for our friends 40th birthday. From the minute we arrived we were treated like A list guests! Great customer service, I'd say 'professional with personality'! Wonderful food for our celebration evening meal inc complimentary prosecco sorbet for all. Beautiful breakfast each morning, the team really couldn't do enough for us. They allowed us to decorate...

This was our second visit to Malmaison London. The room was lovely, overlooking Charterhouse Square and with comfortable furnishings and super bathroom. The hotel is a haven after a long day walking around the city and we found the staff to be efficient and very friendly. Thanks to everyone we came into contact with. The housekeepers deserve a mention, too,...

Hotel is in a really quiet, cobbled area about a 1-2 minute walk from Barbican tube stop. Staff were very friendly and offered us an upgrade to a Club Room due to it being a special occasion stay which was a lovely surprise, and there was a small birthday cake upstairs when we got there! (many hotels you can request...

Not sure if it was a deliberate choice but all of the staff looked like models. And their service was of a model standard. Could not have been treated better by all. From (I think his name was) Michel in the bar to the receptionists, it was top quality. Liked the fruit and card left in the room.

Great hotel with friendly helpful staff. Room was large by London standards, bathroom especially large with a great rainfall shower. Absolutely no noise from other rooms. We had a room with a wonderful view of Charterhouse Square and there was some construction going on outside but it woudl only be an issue if you need to sleep in on weekday...

My sister had been to the Manchester branch and was very impressed so she decided that we should try the London branch (seeing as that@s where we live). We were seated and were uncomfortably cold, we moved to another area of the restaurant that we hoped was warmer (it wasn't). We had to find somebody to take our drinks order....

Myself and my partner travelled to London for our first time together this weekend and loved our stay at Malmaison. We had breakfast inclusive in the rate we paid, which I would suggest paying for prior to your stay, as otherwise continental starts at 17pp! But then cooked breakfast is 19pp? £2 more for a full cooked breaky? We stayed...

Staying in Clerkenwell

Neighbourhood Profile
Clerkenwell
Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site of an ancient meat market which remains in operation today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough time wondering through the area's maze of streets and you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky models passing between Clerkenwell's handful of fashion houses. Far outnumbering the models are craftspeople and designers, many of them are more than happy to welcome visitors into their studios and showrooms.
