This place is really nice to stay at. Caroline and Moa are very nice and helpful, they know where to go to and give useful advice. The room is large and full of charming atmosphere. After long walks in town we were always very happy to come "home". We certainly will come back.

Staying here again was just great. Really recommend the first floor room as the room is really light and spacious and the location proved brilliant again because we ended up doing heavy Portobello shopping and it's so near Portobello that you can go back and drop things you have bought between stints. But there were also some really good extras....

My husband along with my two older daughters stayed at the Main House for 7 nights. This was our first trip to London. We stayed at another B&B for our first 3 nights as we were unable to get reservations at the Main House. When we did check in and taken to our rooms we were very impressed...the room and...

If I travel to London, The Main House would be the first place to check, and hopefully I'll be as lucky with the reservation as I was in November. The service is wonderful. Caroline and Moa were very friendly and helpful: from arranging transportation between The Main House and the airport, to sharing tips on cafes in Notting Hill, to...

I had been trying to stay at the Main House since finding it online some months back, but i always had appalling timing, until this weekend! What a sheer delight! Moa could not have been more welcoming, nor the furnishings more charming. We stayed on the top floor with both bedroom and lounge and felt spoilt by so much space....

You have to know that The Main House is not a hotel ! If you want stay in a London Hotel, go and look for one, but look carefully. If you‘re like me, who always wanted to live in Notting Hill, but never had the chance – then you‘re at the right place at The Main House. I‘ve never wanted...

For years I had been trying to book into the Main House, only to be rebuffed each and every time. “Darn darn, booked already? Ok I’ll try somewhere else. If you have a cancellation though…” They never did. But this year I was so ahead of myself – and everyone else apparently – that I finally got in. Hurrah! And...

...with my stay at the Main House. I am a musician, and have traveled the world extensively for the past 13 years. I've stayed in every manner of accommodation, from the world's finest hotels, to remote treehouses and bungalows. It is rare to come across a place filled with this much charm, attention to detail, comfort, and warmth. And the...

You will need to allay your initial shock, on arrival at the Main House, that the hallowed tradition of the Big English Breakfast has been given the elbow here. Caroline has decided that the key issues these days are space and privacy rather than cholesterol and has created a B&B with massive, classical en-suite bedrooms but no public areas. The...

The Main House is an excellent place to stay when on vacation in London. The rooms are big, with nice wooden floors (not the wall to wall carpet that many hotels in London are so "famous" for). There are many nice touches with nice furniture. The high ceilings help too. Caroline, the owner, and her small and dedicated staff do...

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighbourhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
