My wife and I have been going to the Jesmond every year for about 16-17 years. We learned, about a month before this year's visit that the previous owners had retired and sold it. Fortunately, the assistant manager with them stayed on as the manager of the hotel under the new owners (who are from India). We had another great experience and very much enjoyed our stay

Warm, impeccably clean bedroom and bathroom. Very polite and properly attentive staff. Entirely adequate, though very small bedroom and bathroom. There is an attractive garden for guests. Limited facilities are truthfully explained on the hotel website. Mine was a one night, solo stay. Following my report to her, my wife has decided to stay here on her next, short visit to Bloomsbury.

I wanted to stay in Bloomsbury. The Jesmond turned out to be a perfect location and the single room was snug but just right for my budget. Very clean, comfy bed, delicious breakfast. I plan to return!

The hotel staff were very friendly, the breakfast was very nice. Extremely good service. Rooms were clean, though the airfreshner in the bathroom smelled pretty bad. Beds were ok and the room was a decent size. Location is perfect for shopping and the British Museum. Bring plenty of adaptors as there are no plugs compatible with the european two pronged plugs. The USB outlets are for the most part not working, so charging phones or razors is an issue. That would be the only minor thing that I would point out.

This is an excellent location. It's no-frills but entirely adequate, and the staff are friendly, and the breakfast is plentiful. It's great being so close to the Goodge Street tube station and the British Museum. We were very pleased with the whole thing. The water pressure in the shower was very weak, but we could live with that. Would definitely stay here again.

I booked this hotel for a work trip. Only seeking an inexpensive room to sleep in. Usually at this price point I have some pretty poor experiences. However, I really enjoyed my stay at the Jesmond Hotel. The staff, especially the Manager/Owner were welcoming and polite. The room was clean and functional and I had a great night's sleep. The breakfast was really great and the setting was lovely. I left with the impression that the people running the place really cared about their business and customers.

We had a wonderful stay at the Jesmond hotel. The room was very clean. The beds were perfect. We liked the English breakfast. The owners are very kind and helpful. Quiet neighbourhood. Nice little garden! The hotel is near to the Goodge metrostation. Perfect for visiting London! Oxford street is on walking distance. In 20 minutes you are at Pancras Station.

The location is perfect. We are a family of 4 with 2 teenage children. We stayed in room 10 with 1 double and 2 single beds with en-suite shower/toilet. The Jesmond is very close to the British Museum and any transportation options you need (Goodge and Euston). Both of these underground stations have elevators for heavy luggage. It is a short walk from either of these stations to The Jesmond (maybe 3 blocks?). The rooms are older and the bathrooms with showers are very small. They remind me of older style bed-n-breakfast rooms or student accommodation that are converted to a hotel, from my visit to London 20 years prior. This is a very traditional, English style. Some rooms do not have an en-suite shower and the facility has a common shower on the top floor. However, the value of this location is extremely high. The manager, Vince, was exceptional. The breakfast was also very good and we ate on the bottom floor (breakfast area) every morning. They gave us extra apples and oranges to take with us. You are given keys to the front door and a key to your room door on the same keychain. The facility does not have staff for the front after late hours at night, however, they answer the phone if you call them. The rooms don’t have a/c, but they do have heaters. They provide fans and the windows are large and do open (two panels, outer is older with weights and rope and internal more modern and slides). Each room has a TV. Each room has a kettle with 4 cups to make your own coffee or tea. The flooring and carpets are older (it is an old building). There is no elevator in the building, so you have to carry your luggage up (they do it actually) and walk the stairs everyday. Each floor has one or two rooms. For example, room 9 and 10 are on the same floor with doors next to each other (3rd?), but room 9 is a single bed en-suite. Even though the en-suit shower/toilet is small, they have been re-done with modern tiles and toilets. If you don’t mind an older building and you just want a good place to stay where you can get around to see London, this is a gem. I would return in a heartbeat because of the care of the staff and location.…
