I had a great two night stay at the Jesmond in mid-October. It’s always nice to have a lovely warm welcome (I have stayed some years ago). The double room was spacious and exceptionally clean, with all the COVID safety measures in place as expected. The room was fitted out with a TV and convenient plug sockets by each bed, making charging my laptop and phone easy, even with a short cable! Location is of course fantastic with lots of cafes and restaurants plus shops (so many shops being just ten minutes walk to Oxford Street!). I liked being able to walk to everywhere I needed to go that weekend. I’m already looking forward to my next mini break at the Jesmond Hotel!
We rented a double room with a private bath on the first floor. The host family is very hospitable and even let us in at 7:30 AM for us to drop off our luggage before we saw some sights before checking in later that day. We stayed for a week and enjoyed the location that was walking distance from two different tube stations and a few bus stops. My friend and I felt very safe and comfortable as this was our first time in Europe together. We saw some shows that got out late but we still felt safe walking back in the later evening. The breakfast was also very good and they were very accomodating. I highly recommend this bed and breakfast if you are looking for a family-run place in London.
I stayed here with a group and my room had bedbugs. We woke up with tons of bites almost every night and even caught two live bedbugs, management repeatedly gaslit us and insisted there was no problem despite our proof of bites and actual bugs. We were later told they supposedly "treated" our room for bugs while we were out which clearly didn't work AND this means we were exposed to chemicals without our knowledge or consent. After everything, we were trying our best not to bring the bedbugs home with us and we were told we would still have to pay for onsite laundry despite the fact it was the hotel itself that gave us bedbugs in the first place. My roommates and I were treated so poorly regarding the bug issue that several of us developed serious anxiety and doubt of our own experiences here, all that on top of two of us who were allergic to the bites and had major reactions during our stay. We were blamed and gaslit for nearly a month despite the fact we had proof of our claims. We are still dealing with the fear and anxiety this establishment instilled in us. There are much better accommodations in London, look elsewhere.…
We stayed in a triple with a private bath. The accommodations were comfortable. The family was very welcoming and accommodating. Breakfast was delicious. Close to sights, food and a tube station around the corner that made getting around quite easy. Easy train ride from Heathrow. Would highly recommend this hotel and plan to stay there again next time we got to London.
We enjoyed our stay at the Jesmond Hotel. Due to our planned late arrive to London they arranged for a car to pick us up at the airport, which by the was was reasonable priced. The driver was waiting for as planned which was a great start. We check into room 8 which was up a few flights of steps. I carried one of our bags to our room and the gentleman checking us in wouldn’t allow my wife to carry hers which was very welcome. We were told about the location of the breakfast room and the hours food was served. The breakfast room doubled as a very comfortable shared family room. They offer fresh fruit, cereal and juice and a full English Breakfast. Besides fruit, cereal and juice, we opted for only toast, eggs and bacon or eggs and sausage which were freshly prepared. The eggs (as well as the bacon and sausage) were perfect every time. Thank you very much to the wonderful ladies who prepared our breakfast each morning. The room are on the small size which isn’t unexpected. Our room was clean and tidied up each day. It also over looked the garden which we didn’t use because of the weather. There was renovation being performed on the floor above us but the workers didn’t start until after we were already down for breakfast. We were told if they were starting too soon and disturbed us the let them know. We picked the Jesmond because of the location. It is located very close to 3 tube stations and just a few blocks away we were able to catch a number of buses that took us everywhere we wanted to go during our 5 nights in London. The British Museum is just a few blocks down the road. All said, I can say we enjoyed our stay at the Jesmond and hope to return someday. Very well done Beynon family and team members!…
