One blob score is generous, it deserves zero! Absolute shocking ‘hotel’, not only was it nowhere near the chosen area from my search, but in all honesty my family tell me, it is simply the grottiest ‘hotel’ they have ever had the misfortune of checking into… Dirty, smelly, inhabited by rude staff, you were not even allowed to keep your room key….REALLY!!!!! My family felt very vulnerable, checked in, the room was grubby , shower was filthy, toilet was broken, they literally left within five minutes, and left in search of another hotel. How on earth this ‘hotel’ is on hotels.com is absolute beyond me, they should urgently visit and check it for themselves. No refund either which is simply unacceptable, I will not be using hotels.com ever again!!!

A rather nasty little hotel (and part of a chain of similar around the near east end run by the same people apparently). The insect life in the bathroom is interesting and varied plus I got an opportunity to befriend a cockroach crawling along the side of the bed. His name was apparently Bartholomew. The room had a nice kippered aroma - I suspect the staff are told to smoke in them on rotation perhaps to mask out even more undesirable aromas ? The bedding was not dirty but smelled unusual. I also had a rather violent bout of some gastric illness a few days following my stay - which may or may not have been attributable to my soujourn here. There's a Travelodge just down the road - do yourself a favour !!

Had an overnight stay at City View for an event at The London Stadium in July. The night before our stay i decided to have a look at some reviews... and I thought to myself 'oh my giddy aunt' where am I staying?! However knowing it was for myself and mate (both in our 30s and just a place to kip for the evening) I thought we would make the most of it! After realising we where on the wrong tube line making our way to Wembley and not West Ham, we finally arrived at West Ham tube station from Kings Cross. The hotel was a 15 min walk from the station and pretty straight forward for me and my mate little Rico to find. We arrived and found the owners to be pleasant, no fuss, gave us a key and told us to enjoy our stay. Yesss its a bit oldy worldy, but upon opening our room, I was pleasantly surprised (especially after reading the reviews)! This was a twin room. La Toilet was adequate and it was a private bathroom, lovely hot water and and a healthy bog flush. The room was minimal, but clean. Clean towels, clean bedding. Marvellous. Yes it was a basic room...but for one night only, it was our room!!! Double glazed windows, curtains and an oscillating fan which had not 1, not 2, not 3, but four speed settings!!! Tele and kettle provided should you fancy a cheeky brew and abit of Finders Keepers. And to our surprise upon opening the window.... a Shard view!! Yep, my mate Mehmet Scholl wasn't expecting that. We made our way to the Olympic Stadium which was around a 20 minute walk away, or 5 mins if you got a croggy. Newsagent and takeaways bang next door if you fancy a Curly Wurly or a slither of donar meat. All in all this hotel is a great spot for a base to the Stadium, for a match or an event, with your mates... maybe not your Mrs. Although my mate is looking at returning with his fiance at some point to take her to Wings n Tings restaurant. For the price its a no frills place to get your head down.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Customer service: 0/5 Hygiene: 0/5 Rooms: 0/5 If you want to pay £100 for a room worth a fraction of the price and love unwelcoming outright rude staff then this is your place. One of the hotel staff at reception was extremely unfriendly. I entered the property with a friend. The staff screamed at me and threatened to call the police immediately. When trying to deescalate the situation he continued to use an aggressive tone and was extremely rude, unprofessional and unfriendly. This was the worst hotel I’ve ever been too. I left the property and didn’t end up staying because I felt so uncomfortable. The room was filthy. Their was no plug and I’m confident that the sheets were not even cleaned properly. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. In summary this hotel makes a garden shed look like the Shangri la. I would recommend you save your money and avoid this place at all cost.

I've have visited a hotel in the middle of February 23. Out of hotels in the area I found it the most affordable (200€ for 3 nights for 2 person). We had a room on the top floor. It was quite big only bathroom is a bit small, but manageable. Beds were comfortable. Only thing is that the road is quite busy at the night and couple of times you can hear sirens of ambulance cars as hospital is not so far away. Also you can sometimes feel trains moving on the tracks as there is railroad behind the building. Otherwise there is shop nearby and plenty of places to eat. Also there is underground station and bus stops not far from hotel, so great base to explore the city. We are our breakfast outside, not far away from hotel. Would recommend if you are in London for few days and would like to explore the city for cheap.

Room Tip: Use buses instead of underground as you get to see more and is half of the price.

Myself and my partner booked our reservation 3 days in advance via Expeidia, our check in date was for 4th Oct for 1 night. We arrived to check into the hotel around 9:30pm and was meet by the receptionist at the desk named Ali Nain. We gave our reservation details, and he spent a while looking on the system to locate our booking. He then told us that our reservation is cancelled, obviously bewildered by this we asked why? To which we were told ‘I don’t know, it says here you cancelled it at 4:30pm today’ We have not cancelled anything and even if we did try we would not have been able to cancel the room as it is way past the cancellation policy cut off so expeidia would have not cancelled the booking. The receptionist then told us that they have resold our room and they are now fully booked so there was nothing they could do for us. I asked them if they had cancelled the booking from the hotels side (I thought they may have overbooked the hotel and trying to avoid responsibility of doing a book out) but this was denied. The receptionist was unwilling to help and told us we must sort it out ourselves and call expeidia, so we sat in the reception area and called – which was a long waiting process (given by now its past 10pm) We explained the situation to the customer service who were baffled as to why the hotel was telling us the booking was cancelled as in their system it was still active and valid. They then placed me on hold to call the hotel and ask what the issue was, they were told the same thing that the hotel does not know why it’s been cancelled. I was then passed through to the relocations team with expeidia and they confirmed that in fact it was from the hotels side the booking has been reconciled and cancelled (I told them that the hotel had lied and said it was not them) – during this time the receptionist was listening to the conversation and decided to butt in and aggressively ask me if I am calling him a liar and shouting at me in such a rude way, I could not believe I was in front of a member of staff. He told me to finish my phone call and leave the hotel. By this point (now around 10:30pm) I was extremely frustrated and stressed out to the point of tears. I explained on the phone to the Expeidia team that I am 5 months pregnant, tired and now very stressed out and been left stranded without accommodation in the middle of the night in London. They wanted to sort this out so called the hotel again to try and find a solution but to no avail – in fact the receptionist and the expeidia member began arguing between themselves as to who was in the right. Again, time was passing by this time it’s nearly 11pm and the receptionist comes over and says ‘you can disconnect the call to expeidia, I will help you now. I didn’t realise you were pregnant and all of that so I will help you’ I COULD NOT believe my ears – how could you possibly think that its okay to turn around after keeping me sat there for 1.5 hours being rude and unhelpful that just because you now realise, I’m pregnant that you will help me? Just trying to save is skin more likely when he realised that they had been caught out and putting a highly vulnerable person at risk. I am still in shock writing this now. And the most hilarious part of this story line is that – the receptionist gave us then an arrival from to fill out and handed us a room key and said there was a room for us Afterall! Had it not been for the fact I was exhausted and had nowhere else to go I would not have stayed. The hotel should be ashamed of themselves, this kind of treatment is lower than any way I have ever been made to feel in a public establishment. Leaving people stranded for their own benefit! Should be shut down.

We stayed here because we had missed our bus back to Cardiff and although I'm grateful we were able to stay somewhere, I would not stay again. It's really dirty, I felt dirtier after the shower than I did before I went in. It's really noisy you can hear everything the other guests are doing. There was a TV but the channels didn't work. A fridge that was so loud we had to turn it off, a kettle but no mugs or tea or coffee, so if you wanted some boiling water from your hand I suppose it's useful!? I would not have felt safe staying here on my own and I'm glad my boyfriend was with me. It was really hot and the train is super loud in the morning.

Stayed in room 121 on the third floor, the room had a fixed fan which was a welcome addition. The room also had a fridge which did not appear to be working. The room was clean but simple and dated. The bathroom had an over bath shower with a narrow space saving entrance but was satisfactory. The room cost £74 which is about £10 over what the room was worth. The hotel is very near to a Sainsburys and a Starbucks in Bethnal Green- which is not the greatest area in London, there were beggars and addicts around but they were passive The hotel is close to the Tube station which is why I booked it, as I was working in Holborn. Staff were friendly and overall it was a 3 out of 5 stay. One complaint- the website states free breakfast- when I left at 07:00 the hotel was deserted and there was no breakfast, I would not return here, but if you only have a budget of £75 and need to be somewhere off the Central line, it is an option.

Really nice for such a price. Simple but clean rooms, friendly staff, 5 steps from the tube station, 24h reception, interesting neighborhood. Cheaper than the hostels in London, 20-15 minutes from central London with the tube which line operates until late
