Let me start by saying I did look at the reviews on trip advisor and the hotel looked decent . However as has been written by others the behaviour of this hotel is unethical, offensive and downright ilegal. I was not surprised on arriving at the hotel reception (as others have experienced) to be told my card was unauthorised. At... More

Having made the booking weeks before, sending 2 emails and having a phone conversation about my mobility needs we expected it all to be in hand.... but no. They'd put us on 3rd floor despite it being made very clear I struggle with one flight. We were then told by the reception guy it was our fault for arriving at... More

Well decorated, good fittings and convenient for Kings Cross station. But terrible noise from pipes and other floors, floors not swept. Staff friendly but all male so a bit odd. Lock on inside of bathroom but not chain on main door so felt unsafe. Not recommended especially for female guests.

Nice hotel, perfect for visiting London. Beside Kings Cross Station and near the British Museum. A bed and a bathroom. Iron is downstairs. Hotel front is on a park so generally quiet at night time. No complaints. Would stay again.

We stayed here for a weekend at the end of October and would recommend this place If you're looking for somewhere in London that's close to kings cross and the Tube. The station is literally at the bottom of the street. The room was clean and had everything we needed and the ensuite was clean and had a good shower.... More

We did not enjoy our stay that much. Extremely cold room, tiny bathroom with toilets very close to the shower. You can hear your neighbour's TV when it's on. We expected more from a 100 pounds-a-night room.

Location was great! Near St. Pancras trains and underground. The rooms are pretty noisy. In itself not a problem, but the staff makes a lot of noise (watching tv, calling etc). Hairs and dust in room.

On arrival there was a gentlemen in the back office who eventually greeted me only to say I had not got a reservation and from my persistence he got someone else who eventually found my booking. After being shown to my room (44) I was surprised to find a freezing cold room with no heating and no working radiators. Not... More

Disappointing. They don't serve breakfast since 2014 but it is still offered if you book through the hotel web page which I did. I had to pay for my breakfast outside. They gave us another room at the lower rated Albion House part of the same hotel group. Poor communication with customers.

The only good thing about the Melville is the location. When we arrived, an extremely uninterested receptionist told us to come back at 2pm for check in. When we returned later on, there was another receptionist who was unable to find our booking. After minutes of searching, he still had not found our booking, but he told us we had... More
