We ended up leaving within minutes of checking in. Checked in last night (after second lockdown finished), and was greeted warmly by a reception staff. However we were asked for ID (despite being residence of the UK) and he took in our drivers licences, he photocopied them and kept the copies both soft and hard copies. Never have I experienced that before and was very concerned as to why that was done. At the time it didn’t cross my mind to ask why this was necessary. I have been sitting uneasy with the thought that personal information such as my home address is now available to the hotel. Not only was I asked for ID but so was my partner. Surely this a breach of personal information and wanted to know the reason as to why. We had called up once we left to ask why, and we were told by Kevin (the reception staff at the time) that it was a government policy, and that it would be kept on the hotel records for 10 years, he said it was to prove who it was staying there. That seemed oddly strange to be the reason as I had given him a card to hold and paid with same card too, we have never been asked for ID by hotels before. He also said it was help the government. We called up again the next morning, unhappy with the reason, and another member of staff (Mo) said it was for track and trace and that it would be destroyed within 21 days. However, if it was track and trace he was mentioning, surely it’s our name and numbers that are to be asked for and destroyed within 21 days not a copy of a drivers license. This has left me with a feeling of unease since checking out, and want a clear and definitive answer as to why this is. We were given a room right next to what seemed to be one of the only other residence in the building, and could hear even their conversation clearly from outside their room. This wasn’t too much of fuss but however was offered another room which was a helpful gesture. The room once walking in, had questionable brown stains on the throw on the bed and on the curtains. The room itself was nice and had everything we needed if we stayed. The purpose of booking the room was in case we stayed in London longer than we expected. We wanted to have a relaxed evening instead of having to rush back to catch the train and travel back home late at night. Instead, we decided that we check out and take the journey back home.…
The room was extremely small, but for the price (£35) - to stay in this part of London - it was amazing value (admittedly during lockdown). The room was nicely decorated and the bathroom great. There was no noice from outside or within the hotel.
I've stayed at this hotel a few times now, not only are the rooms well laid out, super comfortable beds and great shower. The staff are amazing, always very friendly and super helpful. Always willing to help and on hand whenever you need anything. Highly recommend this hotel if you are on business or even on holiday. Great price!

Excellent room, friendly and helpful staff, great location for local facilities. And, what's more, my en-suite has the most incredible 'rain shower'! A great complimentary 'grab and go' breakfast, strong free wifi signal. The other hotel guests are social, friendly, and very civilized. Overall, this hotel is more than excellent value for money and an easy pick for recommendation.
